The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 176: Regretting.
Ethan frowned at that answer, and that was when his eyes caught the luggage behind her.
"What is that?" he asked, ignoring the reply she gave to his greeting.
"What does it look like?" Shikera replied, in the same manner as she had done before. She was sure Ethan would soon get annoyed.
On the other hand, Ethan remembered what Noah said and concluded that it was this. She was angry so Noah had concluded she wanted a divorce. Why was she angry though?
"Did I do something wrong, Shikera?"
Shikera could not believe he was asking her that question. Even though she knew she was giving a super ridiculous reaction to his ignoring her earlier, she at least expected him to know that he did something wrong.
"Are you seriously asking me that, Ethan?!"
"Just tell me," he replied, like someone who had already accepted him blame, as he walked forward to take the luggage from her.
Shikera refused to release it and even though her strength couldn’t match his, she still made sure her hand stayed firmly on the luggage.
"You did nothing wrong, Ethan. That’s my point," she answered.
"Then who is the owner of this luggage?"
"Me, Ethan. And you should let it go except you want me to leave with only the clothes I’m wearing."
Ethan sighed, "And why are you leaving?"
Rolling her eyes, Shikera replied,"Why should I stay? I had a long and stressful day already so don’t let me get into explaining...that I don’t have the right to stay here anymore. Liam Anderson is not my father so naturally, this marriage is going to end."
"I and your father didn’t discuss this—"
Shikera cut him off with a mocking laugh, "Should I wait until this becomes a public affair before leaving in disgrace? And don’t pretend cause you were clearly in support of Natalia and her daughter earlier!"
"I was not supporting them. I was only explaining why things are the way they are."
"By ignoring me? You asked me to go sit with my brother, Ethan! You didn’t want to associate yourself with me," Shikera argued.
"Of course, I didn’t. I thought we were supposed to pretend in front of your father because of the terms in the marriage contract we signed. I am not supposed to touch you, Kera, and I have not been able to get the implications—" Ethan explained, his formerly relaxed tone now rising in tension. He could already sense Shikera’s determination to leave that night.
"You called her ’Miss Anderson’, Ethan. That was supposed to be my name, and you used to call me that too! How sure am I that you won’t call her ’Betty’ in a few months time when you are—" She paused, feeling the laxness of the luggage her hand was resting on and she quickly pulled it to her side.
She continued,"I told Esther already so you don’t need to lie to her. Goodnight."
She turned and pulled the luggage with her out of the villa, slamming the front door after herself as she walked towards the car.
Back in the house, Ethan didn’t bother to follow after her but instead, he pulled his phone out and his fingers flew rapidly across its screen.

Shikera woke up...or rather, rose up from the unfamiliar bed, as she did not sleep a wink the previous night. Her head was banging in an acute headache, which was a result of her crying herself from last night into the early hours of this morning.
She had been thinking, regretting, thinking, and regretting again. Why didn’t she just stay with Ethan after he had explained to her? If he really loved her and wanted to be with her despite her new disappointing situation, why had she not agreed to stay in the villa? Why did she insist on leaving? At least, she would have been able to exercise authority as Ethan DeLoach’s wife so why...?
This was the thoughts and regrets that had been passing through her mind since the previous night, and every single time, she had come to a particular conclusion. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
She had refused because her situation was felt disappointing to she herself. Her whole life felt like a lie, and a very useless waste of oxygen to everyone on earth. Her life goals seemed stupid to her now, because never had they been centered on herself, but on people around her.
She became a reporter because she wanted to clear her mother’s name, she wanted to get pregnant because she wanted to leave a source of joy and solace for her family and Ethan after she died, and she also wanted to give all her shares in the Anderson Corporation to Ethan so as to prove herself as a useful wife even after death. But now...she found out she had just been wasting her time.
The woman she became a reporter for wasn’t even her real mother; there was no reason for her to still get pregnant and shorten her own life when the child would have no family, and would be a source of joy to no one. And finally, she would not be able to support Ethan with anything.
The shares were originally owned by Elizabeth so it would be more appropriate to say that Elizabeth was the more fitting wife for Ethan DeLoach, at this moment. That thought hurt her every time so the cycle repeated, thinking, regretting, coming to a conclusion, thinking again and—
Ping!
Her phone pinged and she extended her hand to take it from the black, bedside table of the luxurious suite she had lodged into.
’You better start saving your money, Kera. You aren’t entitled to a monthly allowance anymore,’ she reminded herself as her eyes took in the suite’s interior decorations.
She switched her phone on and read the reminding notification that today was another episode of Elovien’s Spotlight.
"What?! I didn’t get the time to visit Krystal yesterday!" She screamed, throwing the duvet aside as she ran out of bed into the bathroom.
She could only hope that Krystal has not heard the news yet and would honor her impromptu request.
"And if she refuses, then I guess that’s the end..."
