The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 116: Relationship Matters.
Ruthlyn looked up from the stack of files she had been examining since she got to work that morning. She looked around the secretaries office but couldn’t find anyone or even anything that looked like Enoch.
"Ryu," she called out to the secretary whose desk was directly beside Enoch’s.
"Where’s he? Enoch," she asked, to see the man shake his head.
"I have no idea where he is. You should ask Toni though; he has been hanging out with her a lot these days."
Ruthlyn frowned, realizing that Ryu’s words were accurate. For the past two days now, Ethan had not been coming to work following the advice of his doctor so she had to come alone with Enoch. Since then, she had been swamped with work and barely had time to know where he was or what he was doing but the few times she saw him, he was always with this other secretary called Toni.
"Thanks. How about Toni, do you know where she is?" She asked.
"She told me earlier she was going to the marketing department to make some complains of the sort, and she has not returned since then," Ryu replied her, more than happy that he had the chance to be talking to his office crush today. Usually, he had never been able to exchange more than greetings with her and that was even by chance.
He didn’t even know that she knew his name, and neither did he know that she recognized him. But now, she was even maintaining a conversation with him.
"Thanks for the info. I will go check them now," Ruthlyn replied, standing up from her seat to find Enoch and Toni.
Ryu was not ready to let the conversation end like that though, so he offered to follow her instead. Knowing how professional Ruthlyn was, he decided to ask her without showing his true intentions.
"Wait! How about I go with you? I just remembered Toni told me she would also be stopping at the IT department so why don’t we split up? I believe you need them urgently, right?" he asked, still without letting a hint of emotion show on his face.
"Oh, thanks very much. I would appreciate if you could do that."
Letting out a small smile, she walked towards the elevator with Ryu trailing behind her.
"Uh Miss..." Ryu began, wanting to start a conversation as soon as they were in the elevator.
"Call me Ruth," Ruthlyn offered. She was going to the 28th floor where the marketing department was while Ryu would be checking the IT department.
"Oh okay. Ruth, it’s been a while since I saw Mr. Stone here in the office. I presume he’s on a business trip but I still want to ask," he said, struggling to make his words come out as a meaningful sentence. He was super excited that Ruthlyn had asked him to address her by her first name, and he was really finding it hard to hide it right now.
"He is on a business trip, and will be back tomorrow. You have a message for him?"
"No, not at all!"
"I will be on my way then. If you happen to find them, ask Enoch to give me a call but if you don’t, you can just go back up."
As if the elevator was waiting for her to finish speaking, the doors opened and Ruthlyn stepped out.
She bowed slightly to return the greetings of the numerous employees who were passing by her, as she walked towards the main office, which she expected Toni and Enoch to be if they were still here. She had only taken a few steps forward when she spotted them... hugging.
From her angle of sight, Enoch was not resisting so she was sure that she did not misunderstand anything . Also, the both of them were smiling widely while the employees around them were laughing. All this could only mean one thing.
Swallowing hard, Ruthlyn turned around to return back to her work in the first floor.

Night crept in slowly, and the moon hung gloomily and halfway covered with clouds at one end of the sky.
Enoch had a permanent smile plastered on his face when he finished clearing his desk. Looking up in the direction of Ruthlyn’s seat so they could leave for home together as usual, he was surprised to find it empty.
"Where did Miss Stone go?" He asked out loud, drawing the attention of those that were working overtime.
"Where else? She told us she was leaving for home," one of them replied him.
The smile on Enoch’s face fell and he escaped to the coffee room so he would be able to call her and ask what happened. He knew Ruthlyn enough to be sure that she would not leave him here except there was something wrong at home.
He called once, then twice, before realizing that the situation might actually be more serious than he thought. He needed to get home as fast as he could, but how?
If he could at least take a cab halfway through the distance, how would he get through the woods alone? What if a fox jumped out on him?
"Enoch, what is making you think so—" A familiar voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Toni?! Wait, I thought you left earlier, why are you still here?" he asked.
"I forgot a file I was supposed to study so I came back up to pick it up. What about you? Aren’t you always gone by this time?"
"Yes..."
"Then why are you still here? Uhm... is it that you don’t want to go home early? How about we have drinks first? I know a place," Toni proposed. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"It’s alright. I just need a favor that I can’t actually get easily and quickly enough. Don’t worry about it though," he waved.
Leaving her behind in the room, he walked to his table and picked up his bag before walking out. Frowning, he continued dialing Ruthlyn’s number worriedly.
When he got to the lobby at the first floor, he hurried to the sign out desk to check it Ruthlyn had really left and he saw it, her signature. What had happened then, that she hadn’t even tried to reach him?
Taking out his phone, he dialled Ethan’s number and the call connected right at the very first ring.
"What’s wrong?" The cold voice came from the other side of the line.
"Is Ruthlyn home? I just found out—"
"I don’t interfere in relationship matters. You are a strong man, Enoch, and you should be able to come home alone."
"What? What relationship matters are you talking about?"
"I don’t like wasting my time. By the way, Ruth froze your card already so don’t think about getting a new car or something."
"What the—"
Beep!
