Chapter 115: Card.

Raymond looked down at the woman sleeping peacefully on the bed, a smile crossing his face before he dropped the card on the bedside table. Bending to tie his shoelaces, he did not take long before exiting the room.

[On my way now.]

As he pressed the send button, the elevator opened and he stepped into it. However, instead of going straight to the ground floor, he went to the floor directly below the one his room was in. Immediately the elevator stopped, he walked out in large strides and knocked on the first door he came across.

The door was opened immediately and Raymond smiled, greeting the man who opened it.

"Good morning, Mr..." Having forgotten the man’s name, he trailed off and waited for the man to fill it in.

"Atlas, Sir. Do you need me to call the rest too?"

"No, there is no need. You can just relay my message to them," Raymond shook his head, dipping his hand into his pocket to hand over a credit card.

He continued,"She actually looks exhausted so I would like to ask for you guys cooperation in getting her to rest for today. If any of you needs anything, you can use my card."

"Oh, alright Sir! I will make sure to relay your instructions to the others!" Atlas exclaimed. Even though he didn’t know the credit limit of the card he had just been given, he knew this man was rich enough not to give them a card with low credit limit.

"Thanks," Raymond appreciated him, before walking away from the door.

In the floor directly above them, Cyprian’s eyes fluttered open as she raised herself up from the bed. Running her hand on the space beside her, she could feel that it was not warm and that could only mean that Raymond had left for sometimes now.

"He probably had work to do," she murmured, wrapping the sheets around herself as she stood up from the bed and walked towards the bathroom.

Minutes later, she emerged from the bathroom with a lemon colored bathrobe wrapped around her body. Yawning, she walked to the bedside table and picked up her phone to check the notifications which had been popping up nonstop in the middle of the night.

However, before she could switch on the phone, her eyes caught the card lying on the table and she flung the phone on the bed. The peaceful look which was in her eyes earlier had now changed to that of anger as she paced the room from one end to another.

"He’s doing it again. He did that then, and now again?! Did I sleep with him for his money?" She fumed, inhaling and exhaling to calm herself down.

Using her hand to comb her hair in order to make it less disheveled, she picked up her phone from the bed and switched it on.

Ignoring the notifications which had been there earlier, she went ahead to text Raymond.

[Hey! Pick up your card from the receptionist’s desk. I’m on my way to the airport. Urgent assignment!]

On Raymond’s side, immediately he read the text, his brows furrowed in confusion but instead of calling Cyprian, he texted Atlas.

[There’s an urgent assignment for you guys?]

The reply came almost immediately.

[No, Sir. Except you have any to give us.]

"Then why..." Raymond muttered, when the wordings of Cyprian’s message popped in his mind.

"Wait, even if she has to go urgently then why would she drop my card? Can’t she keep it?" he questioned himself. He didn’t have an answer to the question so he decided to face the task at hand, and then get back to the hotel as fast as he could.

[If she says she’s leaving for home, do all it takes to make her wait until I’m back.]

[No worries, Sir. We will make sure of that.]

"Sir, the earliest flight which your doctor approved is on Saturday. He’s—"

"What?! I said I have to be home as soon as possible! Do we need to arrange a private jet?!" Liam yelled, trying to restrain from pouring his anger out on the poor assistant.

"There would be no difference even if we do that, Sir. The delay is not because of the flight ticket but because of the limited time which the doctor has to prepare you enough for the flight. If you are allowed to fly without adequate measures put in place, the past four months will be in vain."

"Leave! Get Chris on the phone for me. I need to make sure he still has his contracts and still remembers the term," he ordered, pulling out the IV drip in his left wrist so as to be able to stand on his feet without hindrance.

In three minutes, his assistant handed over the phone to him.

"Chris?"

"Liam, why the sudden call?"

"It’s nothing serious. How is Shikera?"

"She’s fine. Why do you ask? Heard anything from home?"

"No, the problem is that it has been too quiet actually. I thought it was because she lives with Ethan but now, I think it’s more than that. You are sure the incident when the kids were young did not change your son?" Liam asked, his face expressing utmost seriousness.

"It changed all the Mega youngsters, Liam. And my son is no different. However, no matter how different he is, he is still my son and I know him best. He can’t wield any power apart from that of DL Corporation so be rest assured."

Liam sighed,"I am, I just wanted to be sure. Shikera still doesn’t know the real situation of things, right?"

"She does not. If she has, don’t you think she would be spamming your phone with calls right now. She loves her father just as much as he loves her."

Hearing Chris’ assurance, Liam finally put his mind to rest and hung up on the call. Handing the phone over to the assistant, he instructed,"Saturday is alright. Just make sure we are leaving early enough to get back before nightfall."

"Alright, Sir!"
