The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 110: Endearing Names (2)
"...promise to keep this all to yourselves. Ethan DeLoach told me that when he was in college, he had so many admirers and fans because of his handsome face. But then, that same face had made him the enemies of most boys on campus as they envied his face so they planned against him. Can you believe they used weapons ah...I can’t continue this heart wrenching story. All I know is that Ethan isn’t going to get married so everyone of you should take your eyes off him, alright?"
As much as Noah tried to keep his expression serious while mimicking his sister, he couldn’t keep himself from bursting into laughter when he was done talking.
"Do you still want to protest?" He asked, in between smiles.
"What if I like him? Am I not allowed to?"
The smile fell from Noah’s face and was replaced by a frown.
"Why do I smell something strange here, Kera? I clearly remember you saying this same thing when I first expressed my surprise on your marriage to Ethan. Why do you feel like you don’t deserve him?"
"I didn’t say that," Shikera shrugged, avoiding her brother’s eyes.
"I don’t think so. Wait, has he been insinuating that you are a burden to him? Or has he been telling you that you’re lucky he likes you? Tell me, Kera."
Shikera had to look up at this point, as she didn’t want Noah to have a wrong image of Ethan in his mind. She waved her hand in front of her brother and denied his words.
"No, he didn’t. It’s just me thinking that," she hurriedly said.
Noah didn’t press the matter any longer.
"Which is very wrong. It’s not your fault that it happened and there is nothing you can do to change it, except living your life as you want! And always know this, Kera, that no matter what you chose to do, as long as you want to do it for your own happiness and not for any other person, I will always support you."
Shikera could feel the sincerity in her brother’s words and the way he looked at her. Of everything in this world, she hated being in a sentimental mood the most especially if it was caused by her health so she tried to lighten the mood.
"And so, isn’t it your job as my brother to support me? You think I will come hugging you and crying in your arms because of what you said," She smiled, showing her pearly white teeth in the darkness.
Noah returned the smile before changing the topic abruptly.
"What are you going to eat?" he asked. Seeing how his sister suddenly went silent, he already got his answer.
"Don’t tell me you didn’t plan what you were going to eat for these two weeks. What if I was not here?!"
"I did plan. Fruits and ehm—"
"Fruits and ehm what?! Tell me, who cooked for you at home?"
"Ethan."
Noah was momentarily shocked, but he soon regained his composure.
"Doesn’t he have a cook or..."
"He doesn’t, and we don’t live with the rest of the family. We live alone in his Villa in the middle of the woods together with his assistants; I can’t give you anymore information."
Noah blinked in disbelief. He believed everything Shikera said since it was reasonable but at the same time, he could not understand her last sentence.
"I am your brother so why won’t you give me anymore information? What if I come to the city and want to visit you?"
"You can’t," Shikera deadpanned, before adding, "Even Cyprian had to sign a contract to come visit me when I was sick-"
She shut her mouth immediately, not wanting her brother to ask why she was sick. But Noah seemed not to have noticed as he asked her to follow him to his tent. Standing up from the chair, she was about to follow him when...
"Shikera, your father is calling!"
She turned around to see Maja running towards her while waving her phone in the air.
"My father?" Shikera asked in surprise while Noah stopped dead in his tracks. Shikera had told him their father rarely called so there had to be a reason he was calling now.
However, he was highly dissapointed when Shikera picked up the call and the first thing she said was,"Hi Ethan!"
His brows raising as his sister’s voice considerably lowered as she talked on the phone, he waited until she was done with her call before launching into his questions. Maja had left them alone then.
"What just happened here? How did father turn to Ethan?"
"I just used that because he’s...I never thought of changing it," she admitted. She was always with Ethan most of the time anyways apart from when she was at work, so she had not seen a reason to change it.
"Kera," Noah sighed. "I didn’t think I should be telling you this but you do know the meaning of love, right? From what I see, you don’t like Ethan, you do love him! And from what you told him, he loves you too and he has loved you for four years. I would not interfere that much in your marriage but I feel like it’s my duty to tell you as you are my very inexperienced sister so listen well," he paused for a bit to ensure that Shikera’s attention was on him before he continued,"If you want to call Ethan ’daddy’, I won’t judge if it’s your preference but if you just saved it as that mindlessly, then I advise you change it. Why? I wouldn’t like it if my girlfriend, or in your own case my wife, calls me a name that has no meaning to her. There are a ton of endearing names to chose from like darling, sweetie, and so on. So what will you choose?"
"None of your business," Shikera eyed him, even though she was already editing Ethan’s number already.
’Honey,’ that was the name she would call him. That was the only sweet thing she could stomach and which wouldn’t harm her health no matter how much of it she took.
