The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 109: Endearing Names
"The first dinner you cooked was bland, just like the one you always cook when Miss Anderson was home. Then you had to force yourself to eat that before cooking another one. Again, when you came back from work you eyes didn’t twinkle even once just like you were before Miss Anderson married you..."
"Esther."
"Last point please. You also set her indoor slippers in the doorway like you always did, and it was Miss Hazel who retrieved it. From your actions, it showed that you miss her!"
"Esther, that is not me missing her. I am simply doing what I was used to doing, and who taught you this anyway?" Ethan asked, finding it hard to maintain a firm expression in face of his daughter’s cute expression.
Esther laughed, a low one as she still didn’t want to annoy her father.
"Why do you and Miss Anderson keep thinking of me as a child even when you know I am friends with Alexis Alexander, the adult kid? I was not able to call her so let me go this one time," she pleaded.
Ethan sighed.
"I wasn’t going to punish you. Why weren’t you able to call her?"
"I could not find her number."
"Can’t you read? How were you not able to find her number?" Ethan asked, thinking that if Esther had gone ahead to call Shikera, he would at least have been able to talk to her.
"I searched for love, darling, honey, sweetheart and every endearing name I know couples call themselves but I didn’t find any. What else was I supposed to do?" Esther retorted, not knowing why it seemed like her father was now angry that she had not been able to call his wife.
"And you didn’t bother searching for Shikera Anderson. Why would you confuse yourself when you can simply search for her name?"
Esther’s jaw dropped at that statement, and anyone who knew her mother and saw her at that moment, would find it hard to believe it was a ten year old Esther and not a 24 years old Mignon talking.
"Hear yourself, Daddy. I’m beginning to think you don’t like Miss Anderson as your eyes used to claim."
As the conversation was now getting out of hand, Ethan didn’t bother to reply her and simply bade her goodnight instead.
"Sweet dreams, Esther."
He stepped out of the door and walked down the stairs to pick his phone on the sofa. Immediately he reached switched on the phone, the notifications on the screen was the first thing that met his eyes. Shikera had called him thrice, and he didn’t know!
Hurriedly, he dialed her number back but not before changing it from Shikera Anderson to Ice Cream.

Even though she wouldn’t be eating out of the sumptuous meal being served presently, Shikera didn’t hesitate to assist the soldiers in distributing the food among the students. With the way these youngsters were fighting over food and arguing with themselves, Shikera found it hard to believe they were students of NewDun Elites High School. While she attended the school, the students had been stuck up and obnoxious and had only befriended people who would benefit they and their families.
But Shikera could see from the carefree laughter escaping the lips of this ones, that they were all real friends and not formal friends who had to care about what they would get in return, before helping their friends with something.
When she was done with her task, she went to sit down in her seat which was right in the middle of Vicky and Henry. She had tried to change her seat in order to give Henry the chance to be closer with Vicky but the soldier who assigned them seats, Sergeant Neil, disagreed with her. He even went as far as saying that was the arrangement they would maintain for their two weeks stay.
When Shikera asked why they were being assigned seats like kindergartners, Neil had replied, "Because you are to sit with teenagers who are worse that kindergartners. They have to maintain these seating arrangement unless we want to settle different sorts of arguments every breakfast, lunch and supper time."
They were seating on camping chairs which were placed around a large fire in the middle of the cleared area of the camp ground. Since they were in a circular arrangement, she could see what everyone of them was doing.
Shirley was looking down at her food dejectedly, while Rita was simply picking at it and Shikera was starting to blame herself for lying to them earlier.
Since she had married Ethan anyway, why didn’t she just leave those girls alone to crush on his image?
"No, Kera," she encouraged herself. "What you did was right and your husband is not a public asset, CEO or not!"
At this point, she was actually very happy that Ethan’s face was hidden to the world. If teenagers who had never seen his face before could crush on him to this extent, then what would they do if his handsome face was exposed. Then, she would have to fight against both older and younger ladies.
"Hey!"
A whisper sounded in her ears and she turned around to see Noah, standing behind her with a grin.
"Come with me," he said, and Shikera didn’t hesitate before following him.
She handed her small bag which had her phone, over to Maja before leaving the center.
"You were the one who asked us to wait for a day and you’re the one already with the supervisor now, Shikera," Vicky complained only to receive Shikera’s glare as she walked away.
She turned to Henry who was now the next person after her.
"Hey Henry, what do you think in helping me snag that man who helped us here yesterday? Sergeant Neil, are you up for it?" She asked, to see the sudden frown on her teammate’s face.
"I’m single too," he whispered.
"Don’t worry then, I didn’t know you were into military women. Immediately I snag Sergeant Neil, we will get you one for yourself too," Vicky promised.
A little distance away from the circle, Shikera was sitting with Noah on another set of camp chairs placed in front of a tent. The area where they were sitting was dark, as the light from the middle of the campground was not able to reach them.
"Uhm Kera, I did not know you would be so possessive of your husband," Noah began, and Shikera turned to him with widened eyes.
"What do you mean by that?" Shikera asked, feigning ignorance. She was sure no one was around when she was lying to the students so why was Noah telling her this?
"What you told Shirley and the rest. Want me to help juggle up your memory?"
Seeing that Shikera was quiet, he continued,"How about I start when you tell them the heartbreaking story that Ethan told you? Your words were so convincing that even I almost believed you."
He laughed, before trying to mimic Shikera’s low voice while talking to the kids earlier.
