The Extra's Advent: My Villainess Fiancée is a Yandere-Chapter 59: Unknown Girl
Elowyn finally found Cael, who was surveying the area, looking for any trapped civilians.
The street around him was littered with broken stone and half-burnt debris. A collapsed cart smoldered quietly nearby, thin trails of smoke rising into the dim sky.
The distant glow of fire reflected faintly on shattered glass scattered across the ground.
Elowyn sighed in relief and quickly approached Cael.
Cael sensed the familiar presence before he even turned.
The faint crackle of red lightning, the subtle shift in the air.
He looked over and saw Elowyn.
He smiled softly.
"Did you find them?"
Elowyn nodded and said,
"Let’s go to the bunker."
Cael followed Elowyn without any complaints.
One look at Elowyn, and he could immediately tell she was tired.
Her breathing was slightly heavier than usual, and the faint flicker of red lightning around her had dulled and vanished.
A thin layer of ash clung to her clothes, and a faint bruise could be seen near her wrist, barely visible under the dim light.
She needed rest.
And going to the bunker was the best option.
With quick and steady steps, they started moving toward the bunker.
The streets ahead were quieter than before, but not safe. The distant echoes of battle still rumbled through the city, like a storm that hadn’t yet passed.
A burnt banner fluttered weakly above them, creaking with each movement of the heated wind. Loose wires sparked intermittently from a broken pole, briefly illuminating their path with flickers of pale light.
Then a sudden pulse rippled through Cael’s mind.
It was a message from the Black Lightning clone.
’A [Captain] rank wraith bypassed the frontlines and entered the streets.’
Cael’s expression tightened.
Things were getting out of hand.
If even Captain rank wraiths were slipping through, then the situation was far worse than expected.
Within a minute, another message arrived.
’That [Captain] rank wraith was killed? By a teenage girl?’
Cael’s steps slowed slightly.
For a brief moment, the sounds of the burning city seemed distant.
’A teenage girl?’
He pressed down the questions that were piling up.
’Now was not the time.’
They kept moving.
...
At the front, where the barrier was largely broken.
The [Gold], [Platinum], and [Diamond] rankers clashed against [Elite], [Captain], and [General] rank wraiths; the battlefield had turned into a storm of destruction.
Mana and miasma collided endlessly, tearing through buildings and splitting the streets apart.
The air trembled under constant impact, and the sky itself seemed unstable, flickering between light and shadow. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Chunks of concrete floated briefly under the pressure of opposing forces before crashing down, adding to the chaos below.
Amidst the chaos, a [Platinum] ranker, sensing something was off, he narrowed his eyes.
Between waves of attacks, he caught a glimpse of a few wraiths slipping past through the cracks of the barrier.
His expression darkened.
"They’re getting through the cracks..."
He said out loud, enough for others to hear.
Others nearby followed his gaze.
There were small numbers of wraiths entering the streets from the cracks of barrier.
But enough to turn the city into a slaughterhouse if left unchecked.
A few of them exchanged glances. Then nodded.
Without a word, several rankers broke formation as they stepped back from the frontline.
Their destination was the inner streets.
To hunt down the wraiths that had slipped through.
That [Platinum] ranker clenched his weapon tighter.
Then, instinctively, he looked up.
At the top of the battlefield.
A [Mythril] ranker battling against two [Commander] rank wraiths.
Each clash between them shook the surroundings, sending shockwaves tearing across the district.
The ground below them had already collapsed into a crater, and the air around them twisted violently.
Even from a distance... it felt overwhelming.
A sense of helplessness crept into his chest.
’Is this... even winnable?’
Just then, he received a message.
His eyes widened as he heard the words clearly
"Seraphina V. Hale, the Vice Principal of Everbright Academy... is on her way."
She is one of the strongest [Mythril] rankers.
His grip tightened, and a surge of hope reignited in his heart.
Then he received another message.
And another.
More than 10 [Mythril] rankers... they were coming.
Relief surged through him like a second wind.
"...We just need to stall."
He exhaled slowly.
The battlefield no longer felt like a losing war.
It felt like a test of endurance.
...
Meanwhile,
Cael and Elowyn finally neared the bunker.
The reinforced entrance was already in sight.
The barrier flickered unevenly, its surface rippling as if under immense pressure. Guards stood ready, their expressions tense, weapons drawn toward the dark streets.
-BOOM
Something crashed down from the sky.
The ground shattered.
Dust and debris exploded outward, forcing both of them to halt instantly.
Between them and the bunker, a figure stood.
A young wraith who was wearing a clean butler’s attire.
Completely out of place in this burning battlefield.
Not a speck of dust touched its clothes, as if the destruction around it refused to approach.
And its presence was suffocating.
A [General] rank wraith, comparable to a [Diamond] ranker.
It was the same wraith who had planned this entire incident with the older wraith.
The air around it felt heavy, almost viscous, making each breath slightly harder.
Cael’s eyes narrowed instantly. He didn’t hesitate as he took Elowyn’s arm.
His grip tightened around Elowyn’s arm.
Every instinct screamed danger.
He had already decided to teleport away from here.
He knew they couldn’t even take a single strike from this wraith.
Even its presence alone was crushing.
Right now...
Cael didn’t care about the people in the bunker.
Didn’t care about the battle.
Didn’t care about anything else.
There was only one thought in his mind.
’I need to take Elowyn away.’
Just then, soft footsteps echoed from behind them.
-STEP -STEP
A dark green-haired girl calmly walked forward slowly.
Her amber eyes shone with the ferocity of a beast.
Cael’s eyes flickered.
He sensed her rank relatively easily.
She was a [Gold] ranker.
And yet...
Something was off about her.
The air around her felt... different.
Subtly distorted, like mana itself was adjusting around her presence.
It didn’t take long for Cael to realize it.
His eyes widened slightly.
And under his breath, he muttered,
"State of Resonant."
