The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop-Chapter 316 - 23: The Elf Prince’s Wish
"Send someone to bring her back immediately," the King said through gritted teeth.
"No need, we can go find her directly," Tianmiao stood up and said indifferently.
The King glanced at Bart; this was the first time a student had overstepped the teacher to make a decision—was this permissible?
"That works too. Does Your Majesty know where the Princess went?" Bart also stood up and asked.
"Where else could she go? Off to find that lowly Black-tail again," the Queen said, her beautiful face twisting as she spoke. Realizing her lapse after seeing Bart’s slightly surprised expression, the Queen quickly returned to her dignified smile, "Ah, my apologies. I didn’t say anything earlier."
The King helplessly rubbed his forehead and said wearily, "Xi Ya has been acting like she’s possessed lately, insisting on marrying a Black-tailed Mermaid. We certainly won’t agree and have prevented them from meeting, but Xi Ya has secretly run off to meet him." Xi Ya, of course, was the name of the Mermaid Princess.
"I hope you can bring Xi Ya back and check whether she’s under any curse. Our country’s strongest Mage has examined her and found nothing amiss, which is why we’re seeking your help," the Queen sighed.
"Alright, take us there," Tianmiao casually picked up a greenish fruit and put it in his mouth again. This fruit was strange; it made a sizzle sound when chewed, yet it had no taste and was filled with plain water inside.
The King summoned a lady-in-waiting to lead Tianmiao and the others to find Princess Xi Ya.
As they walked out of the palace, Xia Chuanyue softly discussed with Tianmiao, "Tianmiao, what do you think of the love between the Golden-tail and the Black-tail? True love?"
"Do you really think so?" Tianmiao chuckled quietly and asked. The lady-in-waiting leading them, a Golden-tailed Mermaid herself, walked quietly ahead but was actually listening intently to their conversation.
"Of course not. There’s a saying you probably haven’t heard before—it suggests that matches made between individuals of equal status, family background, and capability last longer. Moreover, the Mermaid Clan’s talent is clearly divided, and I always find this matter quite eerie," Xia Chuanyue whispered.
The lady-in-waiting listened to Xia Chuanyue’s words and nodded slightly, her fondness for these people increasing.
"I find it strange too," Camille nodded as he listened to Xia Chuanyue’s analysis, "I think Xia Chuanyue’s perspective makes a lot of sense. If there’s too much disparity between two people, it will inevitably lead to issues. The only way is to strive to narrow the gap between them. Otherwise, it will end in gloom. Some things cannot be controlled at will, nor can they be postponed at wish. The Mermaid Clan is different from humans; some things are determined at birth. Humans sometimes can make up for it through hard work."
"Perhaps the Mermaid Princess has just become foolish," Dean suddenly interjected coolly.
The lady-in-waiting glanced back at Dean, curious to see who this impolite person was, only to meet the icy eyes of the Elf Prince, causing a chill before hurriedly turning her head away.
Tianmiao listened to the words of the three and couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. Those words truly reflected their different personalities.
Xia Chuanyue was intelligent, able to assess situations and was perceptive about everything. Camille admired Xia Chuanyue’s intelligence, and understood very well that two people with a vast difference could not be together. Later, he watched Xia Chuanyue gradually become stronger through his own efforts, thus becoming even more hopelessly entangled. Whereas Dean...
