And as it turned out, she had worried too much. The dog simply stood there obediently in front of her, eating only the mutant rabbits she threw to it.

However, its manner of feeding was still somewhat disgusting; its head split open, and it gnawed off rabbit fur with deformed teeth that had grown in the middle.

After devouring a nestful of little rabbits, Su Mo patted its head, "Had enough to eat? How about you do some work? See if there’s any more prey around?"

She nudged the leftover rabbit carcass with bones sticking out with her foot, and Da Bai seemed to understand as it ran out ahead of her.

Su Mo, knife in hand, hastened to follow. Behind her, Lu Chen, who had never strayed far, put away his hunt and leisurely followed suit.

As they ventured deeper, the surrounding trees grew taller, the black soil became increasingly damp and muddy, and Su Mo noticed numerous footprints on the ground.

They were from wild boars.

She recognized them at a glance. Da Bai, who had been running in front, also stopped, sitting in place, sticking out its dark purple tongue and wagging its bald tail as it looked at her.

Su Mo moved her ears and heard grunting sounds behind the thick bushes ahead—definitely pig calls.

She slowed down, crept up beside Da Bai, crouched down, and surveyed the area ahead.

Among several moss-covered boulders was a large wild grassy area, and there, four wild boars were happily rooting around, feasting on a torn-open deer, its organs spilling out.

Su Mo’s eyes lit up swiftly at the sight. With that many pigs and their ample size, there was enough to feed them for quite a while. She took out another mature mutant rabbit as a reward and threw it in front of Da Bai, signaling it to eat elsewhere.

With the Tang Blade in hand, her figure turned into a blur as she suddenly sprung from the bushes. She executed a precise leap and mounted one of the pitch-black wild boars.

She had deliberately suppressed her presence, causing the herd to panic, and they all charged at her with their snouts.

Su Mo made a split-second decision; she plunged the Tang Blade down from atop the boar’s head, killing it instantly, then flipped off and dodged an attack from another. She transformed her right hand into a wooden spindle, jabbed it into the throat of another boar trying to strike from behind, piercing right through its head.

In the blink of an eye, two were dead. Su Mo stood up, saw the remaining three trying to flee, and powered up her superpower to give chase. She flung the Tang Blade from her hand, embedding it in the back of a boar and pinning it to the ground.

The last one frantically scrambled about, desperately trying to burrow into the bushes. Su Mo was about to pursue when, out of nowhere, a man materialized from a spacetime rift and pulled her to his side.

A vibrant yellow figure burst out from the bushes, biting the throat of the wild boar and snatching Su Mo’s prey.

Su Mo saw clearly what it was—a Mutant Tiger!

Her eyes widened as she sensed danger from the Mutant Tiger.

Muscular, with a coat of intermingled black and yellow tiger stripes, it firmly gripped the neck of the wild boar with its large jaws, exhaled hot breath through its nostrils, and its amber beastly pupils glared ferociously at the two of them.

"There’s actually a Mutant Tiger here!" she exclaimed in surprise.

Lu Chen pulled her to safety behind him and gave her a scolding glance, speaking coldly, "It has been in the bushes for quite a while, you didn’t notice."

He had concealed his presence and tracked her there, his keen eyes adept at scouting quickly caught the tiger crouching behind the boulders, waiting to pounce.

Su Mo couldn’t help but sigh, "It’s just like the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. This creature hid so well I didn’t even notice it."

"If you were any quicker, it would’ve been your neck that got bitten," Lu Chen said helplessly as he rubbed the top of her head and pushed her back. "Go collect the wild boar, I’ll handle things here."

Su Mo nodded and said generously, "Then I’ll leave this to you, since what’s yours is also mine."

Her words pleased Lu Chen, his lips curved into a smile, making his handsome face come alive with an added charm.

The space around him distorted, and he stepped through a rift, appearing in front of the tiger, his cold hand unexpectedly grasping its massive head.

"Roar!"

The mighty roar of the tiger startled a flock of mutant birds out of the forest.

Jin Han, who had killed quite a few game, was startled and quickly had his people pack up before rushing deeper into the forest with them; Jianxiong was also startled but didn’t panic like Jin Han, carrying his game and hurrying after them.

The wild boar in the Mutant Tiger’s mouth dropped to the ground. Its sharp teeth didn’t hesitate to bite towards Lu Chen’s arm, the enormous bite force capable of instantly tearing apart an adult man.

Lu Chen also let go in time. He wasn’t trying to kill it forcefully, instead observing to see where to start in order to obtain a complete animal hide.

The blood-red mouth and sharp forelimbs continually attacked his vital points. The two weren’t on the same Level, making Lu Chen’s evasions appear effortless. He even snatched the wild boar from its mouth and tossed it beside his own feet.

The Mutant Tiger let out a long howl and leaped into the underbrush, disappearing from Lu Chen’s sight. It crouched low and moved through the thickets, its beastly eyes observing the tall male silhouette through the gaps in the grass.

Lu Chen didn’t move either, standing motionless, waiting for it to initiate the attack.

The grass behind him surged, and the agile figure leaped out from nowhere, its sharp claws swiping at Lu Chen’s back, aiming directly for his heart with the lethal nails under its paw pads.

Lu Chen was waiting for just this moment. It was as if his back had eyes, the Space showing a freakish fluctuation. Su Mo who had just arrived to watch after collecting boar meat, witnessed this scene.

The tiger’s head was just a few centimeters behind Lu Chen, yet its front limbs below the belly bizarrely appeared meters above in the air.

This teleportation could have caused the tiger to be sent up high and fall to its death had it moved a step forward, but Lu Chen didn’t do that. Instead, he turned around, a long Ice Blade forming in his hand, thrusting straight into the gaping mouth of the Mutant Tiger.

The esophagus was slit before the blade reached the outer skin of the Mutant Tiger, stopping precisely in time.

Lu Chen deactivated his superpower, and the Mutant Tiger thudded to the ground, spewing a large amount of blood from its mouth, its limbs flailing on the ground, churning up dirt.

Su Mo walked up to Lu Chen’s side, looking at the dying Mutant Tiger on the ground, she smiled and said, "Tiger meat, I’ve only ever seen it on Animal Planet before, I wonder what it tastes like."

"Boss! Sister!" Jianxiong and Jin Han’s people all followed the sound and rushed over.

Lu Chen collected the wild boar and the Mutant Tiger’s body beside his foot and turned to take her hand, "That’s about it, let’s head out."

"I just heard a tiger’s roar, did you encounter a Mutant Tiger?" Jianxiong noticed the pile of blood on the ground and the mess of churned up dirt.
