The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 48: I Want to Ruin Her
He couldn’t bear to make Nancy Alden cry because of Yelena Hughes.
Over there, Nancy Alden had her hands resting on her legs, feeling a bit lost.
Josephine came over and picked up her phone, "Miss, don’t push Mr. Jasper so hard."
"Josephine, I feel something’s off, really off."
"What’s wrong?"
Nancy couldn’t quite put her finger on it. She wheeled over to the window and, with Josephine’s help, slowly got up. She could already take a few steps, "Jasper doesn’t know I’m recovering. I originally wanted to tell him this good news."
"Mr. Jasper would definitely be pleased to hear it."
"Josephine," Nancy propped her hand on the window sill, "I think there’s a woman around him."
"You mustn’t overthink things."
Nancy struggled to pull her wheelchair back and sat down again, gripping her thigh, "Yelena Hughes is just serving drinks at The Sovereign Club. That’s not nearly enough. I want to destroy her."
Josephine remained silent, seemingly pondering whether this was worth pursuing.
"I want to make her so filthy that Jasper feels sick just looking at her."
Nancy couldn’t wait any longer. Thinking of Yelena Hughes’ face, she wanted to tear it to shreds right now.
In the evening, Hailey Jenkins brought over a set of clothes.
Yelena held them in her hands, about to go to the bathroom to change.
Jasper’s gaze lingered on her, "Isn’t the bedroom spacious enough? Why do you need to hide to change clothes?"
Yelena wasn’t in the mood to think much, "I didn’t come home last night. My family must be worried sick. Could I borrow your phone to make a call?"
"How do you plan to explain it?"
Yelena walked up to Jasper and extended her hand, "Just say I was working overtime all night."
"Lying straight through your teeth, is that your usual excuse for staying out all night?" Jasper took out his phone. After holding Yelena’s small hand briefly, he placed it in her palm.
"Before I met you, Mr. Jasper, I never stayed out all night."
Jasper tapped a few times on the back of her hand, thinking she lied without even blushing. Justin Sutton wasn’t any gentleman either. With such a beauty around, his self-control had long crumbled.
Just thinking about Yelena being under someone else, Jasper’s eyes and face changed.
"Hurry up and make the call, why all this fuss?"
His temper could flare up instantly.
Yelena dialed her home phone number on the screen, but before she could get through, an incoming call buzzed in.
She was just about to dial out, inadvertently pressing the answer button.
"Mr. Jasper." A woman’s voice came through from the other side.
Yelena was just about to hand over the phone, only to find it was already taken from her hand. Jasper gave a cold look of disapproval at her.
"What happened?"
Josephine’s voice was anxious and loud, and Yelena standing nearby could hear it clearly.
"Miss took a bad fall, it’s quite serious."
Jasper’s tone immediately turned tense, "How did she fall?"
Josephine sighed, sounding very helpless, "She insisted on practicing walking and wouldn’t listen no matter what. I wanted to apply some medicine for her, but she refused adamantly. There’s just nothing I can do with her."
"I’ll be right back."
"I just wanted to let you know, Mr. Jasper, you’re busy with work, no need to make a trip just for this."
Jasper cut off Josephine’s words, "Make sure she listens. I’ll be home in half an hour."
Yelena watched as the man stood up, quickly stepping aside to avoid blocking his way.
Jasper’s shadow loomed over Yelena’s head. She stared at a twisted shadow at her feet. She knew what Jasper was thinking, "I accidentally hit the button on the phone. I didn’t say a word more, even held my breath. Miss Alden won’t know you were with me."
"Don’t you have any thought of making her uneasy?"
After all, it was Nancy Alden who pushed her into the pit of fire.
How should Yelena answer? Say she didn’t? That would be too fake.
"Of course, I’d like Miss Alden to feel a bit hurt."
As expected, Yelena saw Jasper’s figure enveloped in a layer of frost, gradually freezing. Even standing by, she could feel the cold.
"Mr. Jasper is so easily provoked. Miss Alden has you to back her, could I even dare to make a move?"
Even if she harbored such thoughts, she couldn’t overcome the mountain that was Jasper. Yelena wouldn’t let herself get smashed to pieces.
"So, it’s not that you don’t want to act; it’s that you don’t dare, right?"
Yelena gave a self-deprecating laugh. What did Jasper want from her? Even the things she couldn’t do were forbidden to think about, was that it?
"You think I should just take a beating, not only am I not allowed to fight back, I can’t even have any thoughts?"
"Right," Jasper’s words carried a cold tone, "Once someone starts having thoughts, who knows when they’ll act on them. I’ll tell you again, don’t try anything funny."
She felt a tightness in her chest, suddenly feeling how ridiculous this was. Shouldn’t she just tell Jasper she wouldn’t dare have a single thought, tuck her tail down and be honest, and wouldn’t that be fine?
"Yelena, don’t forget, it’s not just about taking a beating; you wanted to save your sister’s life."
No matter how wrong Nancy Alden was, at most it was just an unfair trade.
Yelena was stunned in place, thrown back to reality by a splash of cold water.
She watched the man’s back as he walked out. All Yelena did was speak a truth, and Jasper was already trying to silence her.
So, having someone to love was nice.
Yelena pressed her lips slightly, an inexplicable dull pain rising.
Jasper’s car quickly drove off, and when he returned to The Summit Gardens, Nancy was already sitting in the wheelchair.
"How’s the fall? Let me see." Jasper hurried over, his words filled with worry.
"Why did you come back? I told Josephine not to tell you..."
Jasper pulled her skirt up, and there were scrapes on her knees and arms. His face turned stern, "Why didn’t you apply the medicine?"
"I want you to do it."
He got up to get the medicine box, lifting her leg up. "Jasper, can you spend more time with me?"
"I can."
"From today on, can you come home early every day?" That way, he wouldn’t have the chance to see Yelena Hughes.
Jasper applied the medicine for her, and Nancy held onto his wrist, "Could you stay home in the evenings, don’t go to social events?"
Many things could only be done when Jasper wasn’t around.
Inside The Sovereign Club, it was naturally messy. As long as Jasper didn’t intervene, even if she died there, no one would care.
Nancy had heard that Shawn Thorne was also quite interested in Yelena, so let it be.
"Jasper," Nancy was only concerned about getting through Jasper, "I’ve been sleeping for a year now, how pitiful."
Jasper put away the medicine box and pulled her skirt back down.
He nodded expressionlessly, "Alright."
In hindsight, this past year was also time Nancy spent lying down on his behalf.
