The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 39: Money’s Yours If You Come With Me!
Madeline Forest thought, if Yelena Hughes could get together with Jasper Yale, that would be great. Not only could she escape her miserable situation, but at least their looks would match well.
Her current boyfriend, absolutely not up to par.
Yelena Hughes was brought back to the private room by Jasper Yale, and she reached out to close the door.
"Did Justin Sutton give you a hard time?"
"..."
No wonder Jasper Yale thought so, she had never been in a serious relationship, and the only one who could be counted as a boyfriend was Justin Sutton.
Jasper Yale removed his gloves and placed them on the table, "Justin Sutton isn’t that ugly, right?"
Listening to Madeline Forest, that man was extremely ugly.
Yelena Hughes walked over, her skin was pale, and the bruise stood out glaringly. Her facial beauty was marred, giving her a frail appearance.
"Why did he hit you?"
"It wasn’t Justin Sutton," Yelena Hughes didn’t want to drag him into this, if he found out, it could lead to a lot of trouble, "I was careless, wasn’t watching my step, and fell on the way back."
"Fell on your mouth?"
Yelena Hughes thought to herself how drinking cold water could even wedge between your teeth, but didn’t want to say more. Even with the heating in the box, it still felt cold.
She was in so much pain she could barely stand, "Can I sit down?"
Jasper Yale noticed her emaciated state; it had only been a few days since they last met, and the hollows of her shoulders seemed even deeper, making his heart heavy, "Sit down."
Yelena Hughes quickly sat down. She really wished she could go home, snuggle on her not-so-big bed, and maybe even have her mom make her some brown sugar water.
But now Yelena Hughes was in the lion’s den, hard to return to those peaceful days.
"I want to smoke a cigarette."
Upon hearing this, Yelena Hughes quickly reached out and picked up the ashtray on the table. Her camisole was short, and a corner originally tucked into the waistband had come loose.
At the same time, a patch of bruise also came into Jasper Yale’s view.
His heart sank completely, and Yelena placed the ashtray next to his hand, only then noticing his unusual expression. She looked down and realized where he was looking. Yelena quickly pressed her hand against her side.
Jasper Yale pulled her hand away, "Did Justin Sutton do this too?"
"It really has nothing to do with him." Yelena Hughes was currently in such a miserable state, partly due to Justin Sutton. How could she dare to muddy his name more, "I fell on my own too."
"You’re really defending him."
Yelena Hughes was truly torn between laughter and tears, "I realize it’s really sad; every time I tell the truth, no one believes me."
"Because you’re terrible at lying."
Really? Seems like she hasn’t mastered it yet.
"Does it hurt?" Jasper Yale asked suddenly.
Yelena wanted to say it was okay, but he just said she wasn’t good at lying.
But if she said it hurt a lot? Yelena knew she couldn’t gain Jasper Yale’s sympathy, so she didn’t bother wasting the time.
"It was okay at first, now it hurts a lot more."
Jasper Yale felt inexplicably irritated, wanting to smoke, but couldn’t find a lighter. Yelena saw one on the coffee table and quickly brought it over.
"Let me help you."
She carefully lit the cigarette, the tip glowing briefly, and with one puff Jasper Yale burned through most of it.
Her fingers brushed against Jasper Yale’s face, which was cold like a block of ice.
Jasper Yale instinctively avoided, "Cold?"
"Mm, a little."
Yelena put her hands back on her legs, and suddenly he grabbed one of her hands, which was indeed freezing.
She just wanted to go home early; her body felt unbearable, and at this moment, Yelena didn’t pretend at all, a bit of moisture in her eyes, her features slightly scrunched together.
"Little boss..."
He had just arrived, she couldn’t speak the words to tell him to leave early. "You’re busy during the day, aren’t you?"
"Mm, why?"
"Actually, you should rest early at night, it’s good for your health."
A sharp pain twisted through Yelena, almost causing her to pass out, as Jasper Yale watched her grip his hand tightly, feeling as if she was pinching him.
"It must be rough not earning money here, isn’t it?"
Apart from the beatings, everything else was fine, not having to deal with those who made her sick. But Yelena was afraid if it went on for a few more days, the man might not even bring her medicine.
"Are you saying tonight you’ll give me money?"
"Come with me, and I’ll give you some."
Yelena was truly at her wit’s end. Her face was ghostly pale; could he really not see she was unwell? "Even if I went with you, I wouldn’t be able to do anything."
"Still want to appear proud?" Jasper Yale’s thumb rubbed the back of her hand.
Yelena leaned forward a bit, "My period came, little boss, can you still handle me like this?"
Jasper Yale retracted his hand, pressing the cigarette into the ashtray, "Why didn’t you say so earlier."
She leaned back, using a pillow to support her lower back, feeling a bit more comfortable.
Jasper Yale removed his coat and draped it over Yelena’s shoulders, so warm, the inner layer still carrying the man’s body heat.
Her whole body warmed up, more effective than patching on a warming pad.
Jasper Yale tightened his grip, embracing Yelena, "Is it comfortable?"
"Thank you, little boss, but..." just lending her the coat would be enough, no need to hug her so tightly.
"But what?"
Yelena said in a low voice, "If I dirty it, I can’t afford to compensate."
"No need to compensate, just wear it."
Jasper Yale hadn’t had a drink, and after sitting for just a few minutes, he stood up, "Go change your clothes."
"Where to?"
"Aren’t you feeling unwell? I’ll take you home."
It wasn’t the time to leave yet, Yelena couldn’t leave with Jasper Yale, "I still have to wait a bit."
"I’m not one to wait for others, you’d better hurry up."
Being accustomed to being domineering, Jasper Yale’s tone wasn’t suggesting but commanding. Yelena returned to the break room, coming out, she handed the coat back to Jasper Yale, "Should I take it to the dry cleaner and return it to you after it’s clean?"
"It’s windy outside, just wear it."
Jasper Yale still draped the coat over her shoulders, as Yelena thought about tonight’s medicine she wouldn’t be able to get, luckily there were still a few days’ worth at home.
She walked out of The Sovereign Club with Jasper Yale, immediately spotting the man’s car.
At this moment, Henry Louis was sitting inside the car smoking; he was Nancy Alden’s informant. If he saw her with Jasper Yale...
Yelena could hardly imagine if Miss Alden would come up with some new tormenting schemes for her.
Jasper Yale’s car pulled up, and he got in first.
Henry Louis was playing with his phone, looked up abruptly to see Yelena Hughes.
Ending so early today?
He didn’t think much of it, directly pushing the car door open and got out. Seeing this, Yelena quickly got into the car, but just before the door could close, a hand appeared on the door frame.
"What are you hiding for? Where’s the money—"
Henry Louis bent down, his gaze passing through Yelena, and also seeing Jasper Yale sitting beside her.
