The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 27: How Clean Can You Be?
Yelena Hughes didn’t hesitate, nor did she argue. She bent down, took off her shoes, and held them in her hand.
Two pairs of shoes, they look exactly the same on the outside.
Dean Holloway only cared about how stylish they were; little did he know they were high-quality replicas of luxury goods.
Nancy Alden was full of grievance, "Miss Hughes, where did you buy this pair of shoes?"
"A friend gave them to me, different from yours, mine aren’t worth much."
"You really are vain; but of course, fake goods are cheap, otherwise your fifty thousand wouldn’t be enough to buy several pairs of shoes like this."
Yelena Hughes placed the shoes behind her. She felt as if her skin was being sliced away, one cut after another; they couldn’t see her bleeding, only trampling on her dignity, coldly watching.
Yelena Hughes wouldn’t have said such things if Justin Sutton hadn’t been pestering her relentlessly.
Nancy Alden was clutching her chest, Jasper Yale pulled her closer, "What’s wrong?"
"Feeling stuffy, uncomfortable."
The room was small and crowded with so many people.
Her face was pale, she’s always had unfortunate encounters with Yelena Hughes. Nancy Alden tugged on Jasper Yale’s sleeve, "She didn’t do it on purpose, did she? It wasn’t a coincidence, right? Were those words said especially for me to hear?"
Yelena Hughes opened her mouth, "I was just here to meet someone for business..."
Jasper Yale didn’t want to hear her explanation; he looked at her and Justin Sutton, "Get out."
Justin Sutton walked out first; Yelena Hughes, barefooted, hadn’t gone more than two steps before a sharp pain pierced through her feet.
She paused her steps but didn’t dare linger for a moment.
Jasper Yale saw her tiptoeing, blood seeping from her heel, leaving a faint mark on the ground.
Yelena Hughes walked outside and closed the door behind her. She looked down to find a small shard of glass embedded in her flesh.
She endured the pain, pulled it out, and slipped her foot back into the shoes.
Justin Sutton looked at her with a complex expression, Yelena Hughes said nothing and left.
On the way back, Nancy Alden didn’t hear Jasper Yale’s explanation.
She pinched her leg repeatedly, "Jasper Yale, was that time a year ago before or after my car accident?"
"Do you think I have any feelings for her?"
"Do you not?"
Jasper Yale’s brow was sharp, his words even sharper, "You’re different from her, so don’t overthink."
But Nancy Alden couldn’t stop herself. After returning to The Summit Gardens, she took off her shoe and handed it to Josephine, "Throw it away."
"What’s wrong, it was fine to wear, wasn’t it?"
She didn’t look at the shoes again, "I just don’t want them anymore."
"Listen to her," Jasper Yale carried her upstairs, "I’ll take her to buy new ones later."
Josephine laughed and said fine, "Look how much he’s spoiling you, you’re being spoiled rotten."
Nancy Alden now felt that others were just mocking her when she heard this.
In the evening, Jasper Yale pushed the door open to Nancy Alden’s room just in time to see her swallow a handful of pills. He quickly went over and knocked the water cup from her hand onto the ground.
"Spit them out!"
Nancy Alden tried to force them down, but the pills were too dry. Jasper Yale pried her mouth open with his fingers, and Josephine entered to see Jasper Yale pressing Nancy Alden’s neck with a somber expression.
All the pills came out, not one left.
Josephine rushed over in fright, "Miss, what are you trying to do?"
Nancy Alden, on the verge of tears, hugged Josephine, "I don’t want to see him, let him leave."
"This..."
"Fine, you take care of her." Jasper Yale stepped over the pills on the floor; Josephine called out to him, hoping he’d stay.
But Jasper Yale’s footsteps grew more distant.
In the evening, Yelena Hughes ate dinner and took a bath. Anne Hughes went shopping with Lindsay Walsh at the supermarket in the complex.
The wound on her foot still hurt; Yelena Hughes cleaned it briefly and applied a bandage.
The doorbell suddenly rang, Yelena Hughes hopped out of the room, "Who is it?"
She reached out to open the door, the outside lights didn’t turn on, and Yelena Hughes saw a shadow standing at the door.
So tall, it gave an overwhelming sense of suffocation.
Her immediate reaction was to close the door, but Jasper Yale pushed in with one hand.
"Sir, why are you here?" There’s no need to ask, it must be payback after the fact.
Jasper Yale shut the door; Yelena Hughes quickly apologized, "I’m sorry about what happened during the day."
She was forced back a few steps by Jasper Yale, the dark aura surrounding the man was heavy, very unapproachable at the moment, he dragged Yelena Hughes into the room.
The nightgown Yelena Hughes wore had been worn for years, the neckline was loose from washing, one of her shoulders slipped out as Jasper Yale pushed her onto the bed.
"You seem to enjoy telling people that I’ve slept with you, don’t you? Is it enthralling or does it make you feel prestigious?"
Yelena Hughes propped herself up, faced with such humiliation, her face turned pale.
"I really was just trying to completely sever ties with Justin Sutton."
"Completely?" Jasper Yale looked at her with blatant eyes, "You two slept together, how clean can it be?"
Otherwise, why would Justin Sutton ask her that sort of question?
"I really didn’t know you were with Miss Alden at the time."
Jasper Yale glanced at the bed behind her, not large, with two quilts laid out side by side, indicating the sisters slept together.
"Yelena Hughes, don’t act innocent in front of me." In her every move was calculation, "You mentioned it once before Justin Sutton, obviously, you have short-term memory, isn’t pain forgettable?"
Jasper Yale gripped her leg outside the nightgown, Yelena Hughes realized what he intended to do.
"No, it won’t do..."
"And with all those pills, what do I get in return, just a ’won’t do’?"
Yelena Hughes clutched the hem of her gown tightly, "I can apologize to Miss Alden, whatever she wants, as long as it appeases her."
In the end, she could only compromise, "Not here, not in my house, alright?"
Jasper Yale pulled her up, made her place both hands on the bedside table, "Do you still feel ashamed? Don’t you enjoy letting people know I’ve slept with you?"
He gave her this grand opportunity to proclaim. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Jasper Yale pushed her nightgown up, Yelena Hughes felt him pressing against her back, her legs forcibly spread apart.
Jasper Yale pressed close, she was jolted forward a step, Yelena Hughes’s fingers tightly gripped the table, she felt miserable but couldn’t cry out.
She bit her lip, fell silent.
No matter how much she talked, no matter how much reasoning she used, Jasper Yale wouldn’t believe, he was only here to vent.
"Say, do you deserve this?" Jasper Yale peeled aside her neckline, his teeth lightly biting on her shoulder at varying pressure.
Yelena Hughes accepted.
A long time later, the man behind her stopped moving, his hands had left several bruised imprints on her skin.
His legs brushed against her, the tremors hadn’t subsided.
Yelena Hughes pulled out a few tissues, and as Jasper Yale withdrew, she turned to hand them to him.
Jasper Yale took them but didn’t use them himself; instead, he tossed the tissues onto Yelena Hughes’s face, "Clean me up."
