The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 283: The Magical Resort (Part Five)
A big Silver wolf stood on the top of a huge rock sitting on the edge of a high cliff, his eyes taking in the beauty of the dense forest down below. Raising its head, it howled loudly before walking down the cliff.
It could no longer enjoy the run because of the feeling of heaviness that had started taking over its mate’s heart who was currently inside the resort.
’What’s happening there?’ The wolf used its telepathic connection with Shadow to ask about what was going on with Emily.
’I’m sorry. She’s upset because of me.’ Shadow answered immediately, his tone sounded like he was suffering just as much as Emily was suffering at the moment.
’Did something happen?’ The wolf asked as it noticed that the situation on the other end was really tense.
Instead of sending any reply in words, Shadow opened another link in his mind and showed everything that happened in the bar, and after that on their way to the private hot spring where he and Emily currently were.
The wolf let out a small sigh as the memory came to an end and the realization of exactly what was happening between Shadow and Emily finally dawned over it. Those two really needed to solve their issue before it would develop into something big.
’When are you returning? She needs you.’ Came Shadow’s question a few seconds later which only made the wolf shake its head. ’Not me. She needs you right now, and I will only return after you have solved the situation over there. Don’t try to hide anymore, Shadow. Don’t make her question her feelings for you... and her loyalty towards Kaiden.’

Emily finally opened her eyes and let them adjust to her surroundings. The private hot spring was decorated beautifully in softly glowing moonlight balls that were floating in the air, illuminating the place in dim light.
Her eyes looked around the spring and stopped on Shadow who was sitting a little bit away from her but still close enough for her to notice the tears that were running down his cheeks as he sat there with his eyes closed.
Her body moved on its own. She immediately crossed the distance between them and appeared in front of him as she cupped his face with her palms and looked at him worriedly. "Shadow..."
His eyes fluttered open and their gazes met immediately. Emily found herself looking into his amber orbs that were filled with nothing but pain, regret, and suffering.
"Shadow, what’s wrong? What happened to you?" She asked as she hurriedly wiped off his tears. Her heart was pumping rapidly as fear started settling over her but this was the fear of unknown.
Instead of answering her question, he just wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her closer. The sudden pull made Emily lose her balance and she ended up falling into his arms. Their bodies came into direct contact and the little clothing the two of them were wearing provided no help to stop the heat that started working all over their bodies.
"Shadow..." This time, Emily’s voice came out breathy as she tried to not think about the sensations that were attacking her and her body. Besides, looking into his deep eyes wasn’t really making things easy for her.
Shadow moved one of his hands to rest against her cheeks for a couple of seconds before he trailed his fingers along her jaw as he spoke, "I know that you will hate me for what I’m going to do next but trust me, Princess, this is very important. If I didn’t take any action now, it will probably be too late to do something about it later."
"What are you talking about?" Emily could sense that something was off in his words but she had no idea what he was talking about.
"I’m sorry, Princess. I’m really sorry. For all the stupid mistakes that I have made and caused you this much pain, I’m sorty for all that. If given a second chance, I swear I would never push you away. Unfortunately, there’s no second chance for us." Shadow confessed as another tear escaped his eye.
Emily again wiped off the tear as she looked at him with her own eyes filled with unshed tears. She could feel his pain and it was strong enough to crush her own heart into pieces. "What’s going on, Shadow? I’m at a complete loss about what you are trying to say."
Shadow was silent for a few seconds as he just gazed at her before he finally spoke and his words ranged in Emily’s ears non-stop. "I love you, Princess. I have always loved you and only you. I love you so much that it’s causing pain to both of us. I’m sorry that you have to suffer like this because of me and my mistakes. But it will all end tonight."
Emily felt her lips parting but no words came out. Neither her lungs nor her heart was doing their job correctly. She felt the tendrils of something warm and soft weaving their way all over her body as a weird but pleasant feeling took over her.
"I..." She wasn’t sure what she was going to say but the chance of saying anything at all was snatched away from her as Shadow sealed her lips with his own.
It ended as soon as it started, barely giving her a chance to react, and as she raised her head to look at him, she found him staring back at her with his eyes brimming with emotions.
"I’m really sorry, Princess." He whispered before once again sealing her lips into a soft kiss. Their souls swayed in pleasure as the feeling of completeness and contentment took over both of them. The two souls that were meant for each other were finally together.
That small kiss was everything that their souls ever desired and it took away everything along with it and ended all the pain...!
But at what consequences?
