The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 224: You are ugly

Kaiden rubbed the girl’s back with light and soft strokes as he let her sob against his shoulder. A small smile was still playing on his lips as he thought about the adventures that he had experienced with her ever since she got drunk nearly two hours ago.

He looked up at the night sky and noticed the full moon that was glowing brightly, inviting him and his wolf to experience the beauty of a night run.

"Angel, it’s about to hit midnight in less than half an hour. I think we should head home now." He whispered near her ear, making the girl finally pull away her face as she looked up at him with her puffy eyes and wet cheeks.

He softly brushed away the traces of tears from her cheeks before cupping her face as he rested his palm against her cheek. "Why are you giving me that look? Don’t you want to go home?" He asked while arching his eyebrows slightly in a questioning look.

"No!"

She did not waste even a single second before immediately refusing, showing her reluctance towards going back to his apartment.

Kaiden was silent for a few seconds as he watched her, trying to read her beautiful emerald eyes.

"Do you want me to take you to the Alessandro mansion?" he asked after thinking for a while but only received another refusal in response.

"Then... what do you want to do? Except for drinking and gambling." He hurriedly added the condition as soon as the question left his mouth. It was really not that easy to handle her when she was drunk.

He was not worried about her gambling his stuff away but he was surely worried for her safety. She even tried to gamble away her three little treasures and the emerald ring that she had been wearing for the past six years. Not only that but his biggest problem was of stopping her from using her powers. That was the biggest risk.

He looked at his mate who was looking so adorable and alluring with her flushed cheeks, dreamy eyes, and glistening lips.

"I want to s-stay with you..."

He heard her whispering as she buried her face in the crook of his neck, wrapping her arms loosely around his shoulders as she closed her eyes and let out a small sigh.

A full smile bloomed on Kaiden’s lips and he no longer denied herself from stealing a quick kiss. Though he only got to kiss her temple, it was still enough for him and his wolf to fill with contentment.

"Tell me what do you want, angel. I promise to do as you will ask." He told her in a promising tone as he tilted her face with the help of his hand that was lightly holding her nape, making her look right into his eyes.

Emily was silent for a while as she gazed into his eyes, making him want to ask what she used to see in them because when he looked into her beautiful eyes, he seemed to see his entire world in them. That’s why he was curious to know what she was seeing in his eyes. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

But before he could ask the question, she decided to answer the previous question.

"I wanna gaze at the moon with you by my side." Her voice was soft, sweet, and almost like a siren’s call to him.

Kaiden smiled again as he lightly nodded his head in both understanding and approval. "Alright. If that’s what you want, we will do exactly that." He told her before pulling her closer in his embrace as his arms tightened their hold around her waist.

He let the image of the cabin appear in his mind that was located in the middle of the high peaks standing just behind the Night Market, surrounded by acres of forest lands.

A familiar feeling of passing through the dark and endless void took over both of them and the next second, they were standing in the small living room of the cabin.

Kaiden took Emily to the only bedroom and handed her a night suit to change into before he headed towards the huge balcony to set a sleeping area.

It did not take him long to build a protective ward around the cabin and setting up a king-size bed with fluffy pillows and covers. He even arranged an aroma lamp with the light smell of lavender that immediately spread all over the cabin.

As he was busy arranging the water bottles on the small table that he had also conjured with his magic along with the bed, he heard the light footsteps of his mate who was trying to make as little noise as possible while moving closer to him.

He pretended to not notice her and stayed in his original position - with his back facing her. As soon as he felt that she was almost standing behind him and was ready to surprise him, he turned around and grabbed her arm, pulling her against his chest.

Emily could not stop the gasp that left her lips as she tried to handle her head which was spinning after experiencing the forceful pull from Kaiden.

"You are going to regret drinking so much tomorrow morning. My heart wants to help you and save you from that killing hangover... but..."

"But?" She asked when he did not speak any further even after several minutes.

"But an evil voice in my head is telling me to let you experience the consequences so that you can think twice before getting drunk in the future." He answered with a playful smile on his lips.

"How can you do that to me?" Emily whined as she shook her head from left to right but then immediately regretting it when she once again felt the world spinning around her.

"Can you stop moving so much! I’m having a hard time focusing on your face..." She shouted at him as she cupped his face with both of her hands as if she was trying to stop him from moving his head.

She kept staring at his face for a while. Her eyes squinting as she noticed that he looked too good for her liking and in a fit of jealousy, she muttered with a sad look on her face, "You are ugly..."
