The Art of Chaotic Divinity-Chapter 1152: Ruined by Fat
"Hehe, no big deal."
Despicable Donkey grinned wickedly, his eyes locking onto the old man. The old man was a Human Emperor after all, so he had to be carrying a few treasures!
"You..."
The old man swallowed hard, snatched up the pipe on the table, and tried to activate his space laws to escape.
"Trying to run?"
Despicable Donkey snorted, his hoof stomping down to seal off the void. He followed up with his Heaven-Crushing Giant Palm, smashing the old man's head into dust.
With Despicable Donkey's current strength, killing an early-tier Human Emperor was as effortless as eating or drinking.
"Hmph, serve him right for showing off."
Ling Feng shrugged, ignoring Despicable Donkey, who was already rummaging through the old man's belongings. He drew his sword and slashed down at the heavy stone door.
Boom!
A booming crack rang out as the door shattered. Inside the stone chamber, a young man lounged half-asleep in a chair. That young man was none other than the once high-spirited genius, Feng Yan.
"Brother!"
Feng Chan rushed into the chamber, but the moment she saw her brother clearly, she froze in disbelief.
It was him, yes, but why was he so...
Fat! 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
His features were still vaguely recognizable, but his face had swollen several times over, and his body was even worse, at least ten times as round!
Compared to him, Fatty Huang suddenly looked thin!
"Holy crap, Young Master Feng! What happened to you? You're fatter than me!"
Fatty Huang could barely contain his laughter. Standing next to Feng Yan now, he looked like a lean man.
Lan Yingying stared blankly at Feng Yan, unable to reconcile this bloated figure with the graceful young man she remembered.
Ruined by fat indeed!
Feng Yan had been dozing when the sound of the shattered door startled him awake.
He tried to spring up, but his body refused to cooperate, nearly collapsing the chair beneath him.
"Cough, cough..."
Seeing the familiar faces, Feng Yan's cheeks flushed red. "If your cultivation were sealed and you were force-fed heavenly treasures every day without moving for over a month, you'd look like this too..."
"Brother..."
Feng Chan, being his sister, accepted his "new look" quickly. Tears welled up as she threw herself into his arms. "It's fine as long as you're safe!"
"Ah..."
Feng Yan sighed softly and patted her head. "Good sister. Never thought your big brother would end up needing his little sister to rescue him."
Feng Chan wiped her eyes and said, "Actually, it's mostly thanks to Mr. Ling and the others."
"Mr. Ling?"
Feng Yan looked up and noticed two more figures standing there.
"Brother Ling!"
Feng Yan's eyes lit up in surprise. He remembered Ling Feng well, though they had barely been acquaintances. He never expected Ling Feng to come all the way to Tianluo Island to save him.
"Brother Feng."
Ling Feng smiled lightly. "Haven't seen you for half a year. You've gained quite a bit of... prosperity."
"Brother Ling, please, don't make fun of me..."
Feng Yan groaned. "That damned Tianluo Ancestor caught me and kept shoving heavenly treasures down my throat. The man's insane! You'd think those treasures grew on trees!"
"Heh, for you, Brother Feng, it might turn out to be a blessing in disguise."
Ling Feng took Feng Yan's wrist, felt his pulse for a moment, and said, "Your meridians have been sealed, so the medicinal energy has just been building up inside you. That's why you gained weight. Once I clear your bloodline meridians and you start cultivating again, you'll be back to normal within a month, and your cultivation might even advance a tier."
"Oh?" Feng Yan's eyes widened. "Brother Ling, I don't even know how to thank you!"
"You helped me once on the Battlefield of the Gods and Demons, remember? A favor deserves repayment!"
Ling Feng took out a golden needle and cleared the blockages in Feng Yan's body. "There. Now the energy inside you can circulate freely. You might even break through to the King-tier!"
"Thank you, Brother Ling!"
Feng Yan's voice trembled with excitement. Feeling the elemental qi flowing again in his veins, he was moved almost to tears.
"Actually, little brother came here today for something else as well," Ling Feng said with a faint smile.
"What is it? As long as I can do it, I'll go through fire and water if I must!" Feng Yan declared without hesitation.
"No need for that," Ling Feng replied calmly. "Do you remember the Blood Jade Spring Flower we picked on the Battlefield of the Gods and Demons? I have a senior sister who was gravely injured by a traitor. She needs that flower to survive."
"I see."
Feng Yan nodded. "Fortunately, after leaving the battlefield, I sold most of my spiritual herbs through the Tianmeng Chamber of Commerce, but I kept that Blood Jade Spring Flower. It's a life-saving treasure. Since you need it, it's yours."
Saying this, Feng Yan opened his dimensional ring and drew out the Blood Jade Spring Flower, which was still vibrant and luscious with dew. He handed it to Ling Feng. "Here, Brother Ling. Take it!"
Clearly, his dimensional ring had partial Flora Ring properties, allowing flower and herbs to stay alive and vibrant inside.
"Much appreciated."
Ling Feng accepted the flower, feeling the weight lift from his heart. All his recent struggles had finally paid off.
"Brother Feng, your father and the elders of your family are waiting outside. Go reunite with them first. I still have some matters to take care of. You can all return to the Sea-Calming Dragon Vessel and wait for me there. I'll be back soon."
Ling Feng turned to Tuoba Yan. "Yan'er, stay with Second Young Miss and the others on the vessel. Wait for me there."
"Mr. Ling!"
Feng Chan bit her lip. "You're going to the inner island alone to face the master of the Tianluo Ancestor, aren't you? You could wait for Father to go with you..."
"No need. I'll be fine on my own!"
Ling Feng shook his head. He wasn't certain of victory, but taking others would only increase the danger.
Alone, he could fight or flee as needed. The opponent was a Heaven-Patrolling Angel after all. Bringing a few early-tier Human Emperors wouldn't make much difference.
He gave Feng Chan a reassuring smile and strode out of the stone chamber. "Despicable Donkey, let's go!"
