Chapter 85: Will You Abide? (Ch.85)

"Queen Heveneth, will you abide? Or is the Crimson Moon to regard the Floral Domain an enemy from henceforth?"

"In which case, we are willing to return your royal token and leave your territory immediately. But best be certain on what it means to make an enemy of the Crimson Moon" Darren said in a dark tone.

Queen Heveneth’s expression was grim but Darren knew the Fairy Queen knew it as clearly as everyone else did...it was not a question of if she was willing to abide, it was a question of having to abide.

The Floral Domain owed a great debt to the Crimson Moon, each domain did for the dark war which would have brought their end had been won by the efforts and sacrifices of the Crimson Wolves.

As unscrupulous and dishonest as the fairies were known to be, an ancient blood vow made by their ancestors was one not even they were daring enough to defy.

And the royal token was their most revered symbol of power and authority, he who held a half of it was considered to hold equal authority over the Floral Domain as the Fairy Queen herself.

This was why all concerns had left Darren’s heart the moment Zariah revealed the token was in her custody and she had taken it along with her when they departed the Crimson Barrier.

Darren sometimes could not tell if Zariah could predict the future, he could never put anything past the Crimson Alpha as she always seemed to have a pre-planned solution to everything.

"Our daughter is the one missing yet we are being ordered to retreat?" Queen Heveneth said in a dark tone.

Her words directly accused the Crimson Moon of picking sides and favoring the Sea King over her ownself.

Which Darren felt was rather unreasonable considering Zariah did not trust neither the Sea King nor the Fairy Queen and she had stated this clearly to them,

She had only taken this decision to restrain the Floral Domain whilst she braved the dangers of the Sea Kingdom to access the situation in person.

Darren opened his mouth to speak but Allen beat him to it.

"And what is to be done for all the innocent supernaturals you have indiscriminately executed over the centuries for your own personal gratification?"

"And what more is to be done for all the thousands that would die due to this war? Or do you reckon the life of your daughter the only significant life?"

"Perhaps it is to you, but the Crimson Moon values all life, we will not stand by and let anyone be sacrificed for this madness!"

"Alpha Moonstone ordered me to relay these words, ’You have no rights to demand justice, Queen Heveneth. You ruined the justice system of the supernatural realm with your own hands." Allen countered in a chilling cold tone.

Queen Heveneth had no words to defend herself, truly she had reigned chaos unrestrained across the supernatural realm in her bid to ruin the peace treaty,

And now that injustice had come knocking at her door, she was the first to cry wolf.

"And if I resist?" Queen Heveneth asked,

"Then you break a blood vow of your ancestors, mark my words, history will record you as the shame of your ancestors... the curse of the Floral Domain and in my opinion, that is exactly what you are." Darren said without hesitation,

"How dare you speak to the queen in such a manner?!" Lord Dinani roared furiously but Darren ignored the battle lord.

"Alpha Moonstone has left further orders, the Crimson Wolves are to spearhead an investigation into the details surrounding the disappearance of Princess Eloneth and find her at any costs."

"Whoever is responsible for her abduction will answer to Alpha Moonstone...in blood, supernatural ruler or otherwise. This is the vow of protection Crimson Moon has sworn to the Floral Domain."

"Regardless of Your Grace’s faults, Alpha Moonstone is willing to uphold this blood vow and seek justice for the Floral Domain, the question is...will the Floral Domain uphold your end?" Allen asked,

Queen Heveneth was quiet for a short moment, clearly caught off guard by Allen’s words, even the cold expression of battle lord Dinani had changed and after a short moment, the Fairy Queen before stood up straight.

"We should discuss further in the Floral Palace, I am willing to hear what Alpha Moonstone proposes is the best course of action." Queen Heveneth relented,

’Calm yourself Darren, remember Alpha’s words.’

Darren heard Allen’s voice in his mind, it seemed Allen had noticed Darren still maintained his cross glare.

’In war, there are no rights or wrongs, approach every situation with calm and place aside personal grudges. So long as peace can be restored to the supernatural realm, it can be said we have done our duty.’ Darren quoted back to Allen.

’She is a horrible ruler and just tried to kill us, but we will spare no efforts to aid her find her daughter... because that is our duty. Now restrain your wolf.’ Allen lectured.

Darren grumbled inaudibly but complied, his wolf receding to the back of his mind.

"Then we shall trouble you to lead the way, Your Grace." Allen said, turning to nod at Lord Kodin who smirked and dismissed his sword, once again taking his place as leader of the party.

As Darren followed after, he felt the warmth of Zariah’s Crimson orb in him and wondered how she fared under the depths of the Sea.

For some reason, Darren felt great unease, Zariah had arranged everything perfectly and provided a full proof plan to subdue the willful Fairy Queen without a battle,

Now all that was left was finding the missing Princess, whereas Zariah herself had gone into the Sea Kingdom unprepared and with no knowledge of the situation there.

Although Darren was confident in Zariah’s abilities, he could not help being concerned for her... she was a flame wolf, birthed of fire, how was it okay for her to tarry in such cold, freezing waters?

Yet Zariah had given no thoughts for her ownself and the fact that she was venturing into a world of an entirely contradictory element with hers which would definitely unsettle her flame core.

’Please be safe Zari...as for the Floral Domain, just leave it to us.’

~In the depths of a dark forest somewhere in the Ethereal domain~

"Lennon, the affairs of the Sea Kingdom...is it sorted out?" The dark, hollow voice asked as he glanced through an old, worn parchment,

Although he had been perusing over the contents for a time with interest yet he still took notice of the arrival of his subordinates.

"Everything is going according to plan, Alpha may be rest assured." The subordinate called Lennon replied with a deep bow, this was the very subordinate who was the only one able to stand without trembling before the presence of this dark figure.

"I will be... when it is completed." The dark, hollow voice said as he placed down the parchment and strode over to a window wide open and letting in the rays of moonlight.

The dark figure pulled back the hood of his cloak, revealing a dashingly handsome man with copper brown hair and gleaming gold orbs.

The rays of the moonlight cast an enchanting glow over him and lighted up his features, including the bone chilling, malicious glint in his golden orbs.

"Alpha... what is to be done regarding the party dispatched to the Floral Domain, should we let them be?" Came the voice of another subordinate.

"Ah...there was them too..." The dark, hollow voice murmured.

"Alpha, in my opinion, amongst them, the flame she wolf who has lead them seems to be the most dangerous and the Sea Kingdom is a volatile location."

"Without the flame she wolf, the party dispatched from the Crimson Moon will be unable to interfere any further with Alpha’s plans."

" Knowing the Fairy Queen’s temperament, I believe we will not have to do anything at all, as long as the situation in the Sea Kingdom is well taken care off, this war can no longer be stopped." Lennon said.

"Indeed, the Fairy Queen is unruly and willful, uncaring for laws of morality, although I shall eventually have to be rid of her, her existence makes things a lot easier for me." The dark, hollow voice murmured.

"We only need to sit back and watch, I reckon the Fairy Queen will not permit emissaries to get past her borders, her adamance is an important piece in this game." The dark, hollow voice added.

"As much as I hate to break disappointing news, I have received report that the party dispatched to the Floral Domain have already entered the Floral Palace and are presently deliberating with the Fairy Queen." Caedmon said, again stepping out from the shadows, his icy blue orbs glinting in the darkness.

A low growl escaped the lips of the figure with golden orbs who stood by the window.

"You mean to say the Fairy Queen did not turn them away but welcomed them unto her lands?" Lennon asked doubtfully.

"It would be more accurate to say she was left with no choice, the Crimson Wolves did not go empty handed. The Fairy Queen may be willful, but would she defy the token of the Crimson Alpha?" Caedmon asked pointedly,

"Crimson Alpha... how dare she interfere with my plans?!" The dark, hollow voice seethed, his golden orbs flaring with rage.
