The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 84: Three Tokens ()
A fierce growl escaped Darren’s lips at the words of the Fairy Queen as his wolf rose to the surface, sharp gaze watching the battle fairies who advanced towards them.
"Queen Heveneth! Do you truly intend to go against the supernatural council?!" Lord Kodin snarled,
"I have never cared for the alliance before, why should I care now? Besides, you are the strength of the supernatural council Kodin. Without you, there is no supernatural council."
"If you are gone, who amongst them would dare stand against me?" Queen Heveneth asked casually,
The Fairy Queen spoke with such confidence and certainty that it angered Darren to no ends, Darren could swear he had never witnessed such an unreasonable manner of reasoning in all his lifetime.
Rather than seeking a method to find her missing daughter, the Fairy Queen found it more appropriate to lash out at everyone.
"So you dare point your sword at me?" Lord Kodin asked in a dark tone.
"It saddens me truly, although you may not be willing to believe this, but I would not have to resort to this if I could be assured that you would willingly come with me to the Floral Palace." Queen Heveneth replied with a pout,
"You have not changed in the slightest, the whole world does not revolve around you! Your realm and the Sea Kingdom are equally at stake here!" Lord Kodin reasoned,
"My battle fairies do not fear death Kodin, you need not worry for me." Queen Heveneth replied in a dismissive tone.
"This is to say you insist on this war, regardless of the repercussions?" Lord Kodin asked rhetorically, not even expecting a response.
"Ah... Himan believes he is all that, hiding in his own little world beneath the Sea, he should have never crossed me! How dare he lay a hand on my daughter?!" Queen Heveneth roared furiously,
"And have you considered the fact that the Sea Kingdom may not be involved in this at all?!" Lord Kodin snapped right back,
"The Sea King has fooled you all with his pure and reclusive facade, but I see the truth clearly."
"The Merfolk are absolutely loyal to their King, how could my daughter be taken by a mer and he claims to have no knowledge of it?!" Queen Heveneth said fiercely,
"Nothing you say now will change anything, none of you can escape today! I will let Himan and the entire supernatural realm know my floral domain is not to be messed with! Kill them!" Queen Heveneth roared,
The first row of battle fairies lunged, at first count, Darren picked out twenty warriors.
"Kill? I would like to see you try!" Lord Kodin snarled, stretching his hand out, a long sword materialized in his grasp,
Lord Kodin leaped into the air and swung his sword in a wide arc, a furious gale of wind shot out of his sword, sweeping through the battle fairies and all twenty of them were flung in different directions.
Darren blinked in astonishment, he could not believe he had just witnessed the Lord of the supernatural council wield the power of the elements exactly like a wind wolf would.
’How could he command the elements?’ Darren thought to Allen in bafflement.
’The lord of the supernatural council is one of the few mysterious existences in this supernatural realm, do not wonder... focus on our mission.’ Allen thought back.
"It would take a whole lot more than this miserly bunch if you want to stand against me, Your Grace." Lord Kodin said, still somehow managing to maintain formalities in this situation.
Lord Kodin dropped down to the earth, his eyes flashing fiercely as he glared at Queen Heveneth who rolled her eyes casually.
"There’s no need to show off to me Kodin, I know just how powerful you are... and that is the other reason I have come in person. I won’t kill you...it would be too much of a waste, but you will come with me, willingly...or otherwise." Queen Heveneth snarled.
"You have come to your conclusion, clearly you are unwilling to heed sound advice just as I am unwilling to be your hostage. If you will not listen to me...there is still a power not even you can defy." Lord Kodin said,
Queen Heveneth frowned slightly, her porcelain features scrunching up at Lord Kodin’s words.
"What do you mean?" Queen Heveneth asked warily, her gaze moving over the rest of the party.
Darren knew this was their cue and so as Lord Kodin turned to him and inclined his head in a small bow, Darren stepped out with Allen by his side.
"By order of the Crimson Alpha, Queen Heveneth is to immediately order the retreat of your battle fairies from the Sea shores and withdraw all other intended form of aggression until further orders are given!" Darren declared in a firm tone,
Queen Heveneth’s gaze widened slightly as she rose to her feet.
"The Crimson Moon? You...who are you?!" Queen Heveneth snarled fiercely,
"Darren Holt Moonstone, headwarrior of Crimson Moon and royal descendant of the Crimson Bloodline." Darren declared,
"How am I to know this is not a scheme? The Crimson Moon has remained reclusive for centuries!"
"And even if some emissaries have come out this time, they should attend affairs in the Ethereal Domain! Why would they come to me?! How do I verify your identity?!" Queen Heveneth roared,
"One would think the fact that Lord Kodin personally escorted us should leave no room for doubt, but of course... the Fairy Queen defies expectation."
"Alpha Moonstone expected you would say so, hence we have been granted three tokens which you may personally verify." Darren replied in an unfazed tone.
Darren stretched a hand out and a broken half of a golden token materialized in it which he then lifted to Queen Heveneth’s view.
"Queen Heveneth, I presume you recognize this token?" Darren asked, tilting his head to the side.
The token in Darren’s hand was the other half of the royal token of the Floral Domain, a half which had been bestowed to the Crimson Moon as a token of gratitude by the reigning Fairy Queen of the time.
The very same token which granted the right to ascend the throne of the Floral Domain, while the royal lineage of the Floral Domain ruled with one half of it, the other half had always been in the treasury of the Crimson Moon.
It was a token that represented the vow of the Floral Domain that they would always be at the disposal of the Crimson Alpha for generations to come.
"The royal token..." Queen Heveneth murmured quietly, taking an unsteady step backwards, her fairy maidens rushing to her aid.
"Indeed. It is one half of the symbol of authority of the Floral Domain." Darren confirmed without hesitation,
"Do you still require further confirmation?" Darren asked,
"Why is it in your possession?! That is a sacred item!" Queen Heveneth roared as she gathered her wits.
"It was granted to the Crimson Alpha by the previous Queen, why is it strange to find it in our possession?" Darren asked, resisting the urge to roll his eyes.
"And what is the second token?" A new voice interrupted as a tall, well built battle fairy materialized out of thin air, his fierce gaze narrowed.
"Dinani." Queen Heveneth acknowledged the new presence as the male walked up to her side and wrapped an arm securely around her waist, letting her lean her weight on him.
The fairy maidens all retreated to their previous positions.
’It’s Lord Dinani, the battle lord of the floral domain, Queen Heveneth’s mate and father to Princess Eloneth.’ Allen’s voice sounded in Darren’s head.
"Very well." Darren replied as he stretched a hand and summoned the orb Zariah had given him.
Darren watched in awe as the orb materialized in his palm and then a torrent of glowing bright blue flames erupted from Darren’s palm, shooting right up into the sky yet Darren remained unburnt.
"The... Creator’s flame! It’s the Crimson Flame!" Queen Heveneth whispered in a low tone,
"Would you still require the third token?" Darren asked as he closed his palm over the orb so it vanished again.
Queen Heveneth shook her head, her face contorting in rage.
"Why now?! Why would the Crimson Moon interfere with my affairs?! The Crimson Alpha never cared before now!" Queen Heveneth snarled,
"I assume by interfering with your affairs, you mean our Alpha turned a blind eye to your mischievous and unscrupulous actions for the past centuries?"
"Well, you can say your time has run out, to actually dare raise your sword against the supernatural council repeatedly,"
"Queen Heveneth... you have gone too far!... there is only so much we can ignore!" Allen snarled right back, his eyes blazing as his wolf rose to the surface.
"Crimson Beta Wolf! You are the Crimson Beta Wolf!" Queen Heveneth exclaimed, immediately recognizing Allen’s aura.
"Allen Elrod Hunt is the name...I assume you are familiar with my lineage, Your Grace." Allen said distastefully,
"By the way, you may consider me the third token." Allen added with a deadly glare.
