The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 60: Discord in Council ()
"King Askel." Lord Kodin greeted with a small bow, his gaze still fixed on Zariah.
"Lord Kodin." King Askel returned Lord Kodin’s greeting formally.
Noticing Lord Kodin’s gaze on Zariah, he began making introductions.
"Mhíjani, this is Lord Kodin, head of the supernatural council." King Askel said to Zariah.
"Mhíjani?" Lord Kodin asked in interest,
"Zari is my..." King Askel began to respond but Zariah was quick to cut him off.
"Head warrior Zariah Torin of Crimson Moon, much has been said of you Lord Kodin, it is my pleasure to finally put a face to the name." Zariah introduced in a blank tone.
Lord Kodin’s gaze narrowed in obvious confusion but he lowered his head in a small bow to Zariah which Zariah returned with a nod.
"The Crimson Moon finally returns to the Ethereal domain, the honor is mine." Lord Kodin replied.
"As much as I would love to be better acquainted, there are more important matters at hand."
"As representative of the Crimson Alpha, I will officially inform Lord Kodin that we intend to be fully involved in this affair and every other till we have completed our mission."Zariah declared.
"As it should be." Lord Kodin replied without hesitation.
"The supernatural council has duly investigated, what is the situation like?" Zariah moved the topic of conversation straight to the situation at hand.
"For this, if King Askel does not mind, we must proceed to his study for further discussion. The two parties involved need not come with us." Lord Kodin said, his tone also reverting to an objective tone.
"Certainly." King Askel said as he rose from his throne.
"Keep an eye on them." King Askel instructed his third in command as he passed a final glare at the representatives of the floral domain and the Sea Kingdom before he led the way out of the throne room.

"The situation is not good, I presume." King Askel said knowingly as he stepped into his study.
Zariah could not help but mentally agree as she walked in behind King Askel and headed to the closest wall, leaning against it casually.
Lord Kodin’s request for a private discussion in exclusion of the two parties involved already spoke volumes of the outcome of the supernatural council’s intervention.
"The supernatural council was unable to intervene?" Lord Kriden asked in a surprised tone as the doors to King Askel’s study was shut.
"Intervene? We did not even get to meet the fairy queen!" One of the council vampires exclaimed in an aggravated tone.
"Be calm Gaveth, this is not the time." The second council vampire warned before she explained further in a more calmer tone than her peer.
"We six departed for the Floral Domain whilst Lord Kodin headed for the Sea Kingdom with the council wolf. We requested audience with the fairy queen, the battle fairies responded with aggression and a little scuffle broke out."
"Two council members were superficially injured and many battle fairies, in short, it did not go well in the slightest." The second council vampire explained, her lips curled in a grimace.
The first council vampire bearing the name Gaveth hissed in rage, his sharp, glinting fangs on display.
"They dared attack the supernatural council?" Zariah asked in surprise, pushing off from where she rested against the wall.
In all her time as Crimson Alpha, Zariah had never heard of a situation where a supernatural leader ordered an attack on the supernatural council,
There were no rules in particular against it simply because it just didn’t happen.
Lord Kodin nodded grimly to Zariah’s question and Zariah shook her head in disbelief.
"Queen Heveneth is not backing down, she insists the merfolk are guilty and has refused to grant audience to the supernatural council unless Lord Kodin goes to her person and alone." The council warlock reported.
"These are her exact requests and we all know she has been after Lord Kodin’s life as surely as she has been after King Askel’s. If Lord Kodin steps into the floral domain, there is hardly any assurance he will return alive."
"Queen Heveneth is simply being unreasonable!" Gaveth exclaimed.
"The situation is much more complicated than we had expected." Lord Kodin relayed,
"This goes to show she is not interested in calling a truce for any reasons, she has long held intents to violate the sacred alliance and she finally has gotten the justification she needs." King Askel murmured in a distasteful tone.
"I fear you are right." Lord Kodin said in agreement.
"We should not jump to conclusions so easily, Princess Eloneth is a valued royal descendant of the Floral Domain, My Queen would never bet Princess Eloneth’s life just to incite a war." The council fairy reasoned, his icy blue eyes gleaming with indignation.
"Are you insinuating His Holy Highness, the Sea King kidnapped some fairy damsel?!" The council mermaid exclaimed, her silver orbs flashing with rage.
"And how would you know he didn’t?! You are a member of the supernatural council! You should consider all options and stop taking sides! Your King is not a saint!" The council fairy snapped in annoyance.
"I could say the same for you! If the Sea King is not a saint, then the Fairy Queen is certainly a demon and everyone knows this!" The council mermaid countered fiercely, the skin around her neck giving way to reveal her gills as she hissed in rage.
"Way to get the innocent involved." The representative from the demon race muttered in his deep baritone at the comparison made with his race,
"The demons are hardly ever innocent of anything." The council mermaid replied in a dismissive tone.
"I can hardly argue with that." The representative of the demon race murmured, his red orbs betraying his amusement.
Truly the demon race were the only race that still practiced dark magic, however this did not make them necessarily evil as they hardly interfered with the rest of the supernatural races.
The only reason the demon race was mostly unwelcomed was because of the existence of the lesser demons like the demon wraiths and demon spirits who were of pure evil.
"At least the fairies do not hide behind a facade of benevolence, we say exactly what we are and if this situation is to be pacified, Princess Eloneth must be returned unharmed!" The council fairy insisted.
"After the stunt Lady Floraina pulled with Prince Treyton?! Wherever your princess is, she better be dead or creator help me, I will kill her myself!" The council mermaid swore vehemently.
"That is enough! I should have left you two with your kin so you may partake in the glaring contest!" Lord Kodin interrupted in a cold, deadly tone.
The two council members immediately swallowed down any further words they had to say, realizing they had forgotten exactly where they were in their anger.
"Apologies, My Lord." The two council members apologized in unison.
All the while, Zariah watched the exchange in distaste, unable to believe this was how low the supernatural council had fallen.
King Askel seemed to be in much the same situation as Zariah was.
"Everyone but Zariah and King Askel...out!" Lord Kodin demanded, his tone still cold and deadly.
All the representatives did not dare argue and quickly took their leave till Lord Kodin, Zariah and King Askel were the only three left.
"This is exactly why I say the situation is complicated. The discord has eaten deep even on my council and it has only been a single day, I fear if this extends any longer, a full scale battle is unavoidable." Lord Kodin said grimly.
"You took those two along with you to the Floral Domain and you expected things to have ended well?" King Askel deadpanned, speaking the exact words on Zariah’s mind.
"King Askel is right. I would expect Lord Kodin could at least keep your council members in check, what is this mess? If even the supernatural council are at odds and taking sides, how do you expect to handle the situation?" Zariah asked in a distasteful tone,
"And for those two, their presence would only escalate the situation and further enrage the Fairy Queen." Zariah continued, her expression set in a frown.
When faced with the disapproval from Zariah and King Askel, Lord Kodin nodded in acceptance of their words. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"I admit I have not had the time to put my council in order since the news reached us, the internal conflict is expected. I made the trip in urgency and did not think it through."
"You are right, what would you suggest is the best method of approach?" Lord Kodin asked, passing a glare at the two council members.
"First, get rid of those two and all related parties." Zariah said without hesitation.
"Their every action will spread the agitation to the rest of the council as they cannot be expected to maintain a neutral ground since their races are directly affected."
"The supernatural council must maintain a calm approach at all times, the moment the supernatural council loses cool, the other supernatural leaders will have to intervene."
"The council fairy and the council mermaid can remain off all supernatural council matters till this situation is sorted out... this is the first and most crucial step." King Askel insisted in agreement with Zariah’s suggestion.
"I understand, I will see to it immediately." Lord Kodin said with a nod.
"Secondly, we must know the Sea King’s stance." King Askel continued.
