The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 187: Someone Else ()
"What?!" Queen Sancia hissed, glancing up at her attendant who had just come to her with a very disturbing report
Queen Sancia had assigned a few of her attendants to keep a close watch on the Crimson wolves, and while she knew Askel would never approve of it, Queen Sancia firmly believed he would eventually see reason.
The Crimson wolves could not be trusted and Queen Sancia still was not willing to accept the Crimson Alpha as Ethereal Queen.
"Lords Kodin of the supernatural council and Lord Melven of the Coral sea were both invited to the palace by the Crimson Wolves. King Askel and Alpha Caedmon were also summoned." The female attendant reported to the Queen.
"The meeting was kept confidential, but the topic of deliberation seemed to be about the mate bond. I hear rumors that the Crimson Alpha has chosen to give the Alpha of Waning Moon Pack a chance before making a decision."
"King Askel is furious and has not left his quarters since he left the meeting. The Crimson Alpha has also left palace grounds and has not returned since the meeting."
"Alpha Caedmon has been granted temporary residence on Royal Lycan lands and Lord Kodin has convened a meeting with the elders to clarify the situation." The female attendant relayed.
Queen Sancia’s brows twitched in annoyance, her hand clenching into a tight fist.
"It is one thing that her presence places all my son has worked hard for at risk, she dares make him an option also?" Queen Sancia hissed in annoyance.
Queen Sancia could not understand, what exactly it was Askel saw in the Crimson Alpha and just why he could not let her go, even when she was so cruel to him.
"Quick, summon Vivienne to the palace. Since she does not know to cherish my son, there is someone else who will." Queen Sancia said, her tone dark.
______________
Vivienne studied the confidential reports on her father’s shelf one after the other, they provided her with much information on the current state of the Royal Lycan Pack, and all she had missed out on in her years away.
There had been a time when Vivienne played a significant role in the affairs of the Royal Lycan Pack, she was only less respected than Dechlan, the third in command.
And she was the only female who had achieved that level of influence amongst her peers, how could anyone else compare to her? Askel had trained Vivienne himself, she was amongst the very best of enforcers of the Royal Lycan Pack.
That was until she had given up everything to leave with her mate to his pack where all she could be was a Luna... caring for her mate and his pack.
And Vivienne had given it her all, but what had she gotten in return? Nothing.
Vivienne had realized quickly, that there was no glory in sacrificing her needs for others. It had been excruciating to let go but she had, because Vivienne knew she deserved better.
Vivienne sorted through the reports, she was more interested in the reports that made mention of the Crimson wolves than any other.
The Crimson wolves that were at one point rumored to be a myth, but now walked the halls of the Ethereal Palace like it was their own.
Vivienne found their very existence intriguing.
A lot had changed in the Royal Lycan Pack since she had been away, Vivienne could tell that much.
Not just the place but the people too, they had all changed. Everyone regarded her differently now, with a distant sympathy and even her father walked on eggshells around her.
The only person that still treated Vivienne just the same as she always had was Queen Sancia and Vivienne dared to hope, King Askel too.
But since her return, she had not been privileged to meet King Askel as his attention was completely occupied by his mate.
First, the Crimson Alpha had been in a coma and King Askel had to tend to her by her side, he was just that kind of man and Vivienne knew this... she respected him for it. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
But right after the Crimson Alpha had regained consciousness, King Askel still had eyes for no one else and nothing else but her.
It was frustrating to Vivienne, she had returned after going through so much and the only person she wished to confide in, to tell of her pain...that one person no longer recognized her existence.
Before Vivienne left, she had been the only woman King Askel would allow remotely close to him, but all of that had changed now.
Years had passed by and nothing was the same, but Vivienne could not accept it, she was unwilling to.
Vivienne was distracted from her thoughts as she read through a particular report, her eyes growing wide.
The report was recent and contained details that was of much interest to Vivienne.
"Father, how could you keep this from me?!" Vivienne demanded in a furious tone.
Elder Jared heaved an exasperated sigh, this was precisely why he had been unwilling to grant Vivienne consent to go through his files.
Elder Jared did not need to ask to know what file Vivienne had found. It was the reports from the elders of the council as they tried to come up with solutions for the situation between King Askel, the Crimson Alpha and the Alpha of the Waning Moon Pack.
Elder Jared has hoped Vivienne would not find about it,
"It only happened but a few days ago, and the council agreed to keep it under wraps as divulging such a sensitive information could place the Royal Lycan Pack in a tight position." Elder Jared replied.
"How could it be that the Alpha of Waning Moon shares a mate bond with the Crimson Alpha? Was she not already Askel’s mate? Is this even possible?" Vivienne asked in bafflement.
"We do not have all the answers, Vivienne. But who can contend with the choice of the Creator?" Elder Jared asked to no one in particular.
