The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 159: Queen Sancia’s Intent ()

"I knew you would share my concerns. It goes without saying that to crown the Crimson Alpha as Ethereal Queen...it is too concerning." Queen Sancia said with a shake of her head.

"It is worrisome indeed. But fate has made the call and King Askel himself is fully enamored by his mate, he holds no doubts whatsoever. What more can be done?" Elder Jared replied in resignation.

Queen Sancia’s brows twitched slightly, she had done enough of resigning to fate in her own lifetime and she would not have the same for her son.

What Askel would have was everything that was right and perfect, nothing less.

Queen Sancia knew she had not done much for her son, she had never stood up for him when he needed her the most.

But over the cold, dead body of her mate, Queen Sancia had sworn to right all the wrongs she had done to Askel and she intended to keep that promise.

"You would agree with me that fate does not always make the best matches... would you not?" Queen Sancia asked in a quiet tone.

Elder Jared lifted his gaze to Queen Sancia, their eyes met and for a moment, they searched each other’s eyes in silence.

Memories of a time in the past and a love that could have been lingered on both their minds, but both knew those memories were better left in the past where they belonged.

Bringing it up this time was a selfish move from Queen Sancia, she knew well enough that this was the most convincing thing she could say to Elder Jared.

"What is it that you want to do, Sancia? You know I will always give you my support." Elder Jared asked as he averted his gaze, heaving a quiet sigh.

"It is not about me...it is about us and what is best for both our children." Queen Sancia adjusted.

At the mention of ’our children’, Elder Jared’s gaze moved back to Queen Sancia, his brows furrowing slightly.

"What has this to do with Vivienne?" Elder Jared asked warily, the mention of his daughter triggering his protective instincts.

"You surely know I hold no contrary intentions towards your daughter. Whoever you cherish is dear to me as well, Jared."

"Your mate is my bosom friend and I consider your daughter as mine." Queen Sancia reminded, frowning slightly at Elder Jared’s reaction.

Elder Jared’s defensive countenance dropped and his expression turned apologetic.

"I know this, forgive me. Vivienne has been through a lot in this past year, since her return from the White Woods Pack." Elder Jared explained.

Elder Jared’s daughter Vivienne was mated to the beta of White Woods Pack and had been away from the Royal Lycan Pack for a full summer.

However, in recent times, Vivienne had met some troubles and has returned to the Royal Lycan Pack.

"I hear Vivienne chose to severe the bond with her mate for impregnating another she wolf before they were mated." Queen Sancia said with a sigh.

"It was a difficult decision for her, Sancia. It is known how much rejection is frowned upon amongst us Royal Lycan wolves...yet that mate of hers is a chronic cheat, he cannot be trusted." Elder Jared revealed.

"I do understand and I believe Vivienne has made the right choice for herself and for the honor of our pack. We will not have a ranked shewolf insulted by some beta of a branch pack." Queen Sancia agreed with a frown of disdain.

"I am grateful for your understanding. Vivienne has yet to bid her greetings for fear of your judgment." Elder Jared admitted.

"Then let her know she fears in vain. I would love for her to pay me a visit, I would also like to get her opinion." Queen Sancia said with a small smile.

"Her opinion? On what?" Elder Jared asked curiously.

"I want to know what Vivienne thinks... about the title of Ethereal Queen." Queen Sancia revealed.

Elder Jared’s eyed widened at Queen Sancia’s words.

"Your Grace! King Askel already has a mate!" Elder Jared exclaimed.

"A mate whose fate is uncertain, Jared. Vivienne and Askel have both always adored each other, I always hoped they would be mated...do not tell me you did not hope for the same." Queen Sancia confronted.

Elder Jared grunted beneath his breath, conflicted on what to say.

"My Vivienne has loved His Grace from childhood, I will not deny this. I also know she could easily reject her mate only because he was never the one she loved,"

"And I am grateful for the strength her love for King Askel has given her to fight the pain of rejection."

"But Vivienne and His Grace were never meant to be, she has also accepted this." Elder Jared reasoned.

"Fate may have made an error, but it has also provided a chance to correct it. Alpha Zariah has been in a coma for a month and it does not seem she shall recover anytime soon...if ever." Queen Sancia said.

"I cannot watch my son ruin himself to mourn a mate he barely knows, Jared. I need your help... and I need Vivienne’s help to get Askel out of this despair."

"If he goes on like this, and his mate passes away, Askel will not survive it." Queen Sancia admitted with a sigh.

"Jared, I have lost everything...my son is all I have left. And I will protect him with everything I have, even it means saving him from his ownself."

"You know Vivienne would want this too, I dare say the only reason she has not bid greetings is because she cannot bear to see Askel with another woman." Queen Sancia said knowingly.

Elder Jared grunted again but he did not deny Queen Sancia’s words

"Do not think about fate, think about your daughter and what is best for her. Help me make things right... and I will have Vivienne be Ethereal Queen." Queen Sancia offered.

Elder Jared was quiet for a long time, thinking over Queen Sancia’s offer before he sighed.

"What do you want me to do?" Elder Jared asked.
