Chapter 153: Set Things Right 2 (Ch.153)

It was the dawn of a new day in the floral domain and a round table had been set in the audience hall where the supernatural council was already seated.

It was the day set by the Crimson Beta for the vow of truce and Lord Kodin was tasked with welcoming the two races who were expected to take this vow.

Neither of the two parties had arrived but it was no cause for alarm, Allen had made it clear to both races that whoever failed to honor the summons would face the wrath of Crimson Moon.

Though the two parties were yet to arrive, there was already a tense atmosphere in the hall,

This atmosphere was owed to the fact that this would be the first time the monarch of the floral domain and that of the Sea kingdom would meet for a truce in many centuries.

Discord had brewed between both domains over the past few centuries and it had escalated into a full blown war that had already claimed many lives.

All that aggression and bad blood could not be so easily overlooked, especially when a monarch like Queen Heveneth of the floral domain was involved.

The supernatural council knew there could be a possibility that this gathering would go South and someone would still get hurt.

A direct battle between the soon to be crowned Sea King and the fairy queen was not out of the question too.

In such a case, the supernatural council would have to step in and knowing this, they had to be mentally prepared for what was to come.

"The Crimson wolves are yet to arrive, My Lord. It will be difficult to contain the situation without them." One of the council vampires aired his concern.

"Truly, it would. But there is no cause for alarm, Beta Allen is to preside over the oath taking, he would not be absent." The council warlock assured. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Still... it would have been so much more reassuring if the Crimson Alpha was conscious. Who knows what the fairy queen has up her sleeves? She could even order an attack on the council." The female council vampire reminded in a begrudging tone.

"Whatever it is, this is the only certain way to put an end to the war. Both parties must take an oath, otherwise it would be easy for them to go back on their word." Lord Kodin said with a shake of his head.

"That is true. It would not be the first time Queen Heveneth breaks her own word." The council warlock murmured beneath his breath.

Meanwhile, the two monarchs whose presence were being expected still contemplated their options.

Somewhere in the castle, Princess Eloneth headed to her mother’s quarters, albeit reluctantly.

Eloneth was still not ready to see her mother after all that had happened but today was a day in which she could not sit still.

Darren had asked Eloneth to stay out of it but Eloneth simply could not, she had turned a blind eye to her mother’s unscrupulous acts one too many times.

"I am also to be blamed that it has come to this." Eloneth murmured to herself as she walked down the halls, her heart constricting in guilt.

Thinking back on it, Eloneth knew there were many times before this when she could have stepped up to stop her mother from making a wrong choice.

Instead, Eloneth had done nothing and it was already too late to regret it all.

The entire supernatural realm bore grudges against the floral domain and even within the domain, it was becoming difficult to contain the internal strife since her mother had gone silent.

Eloneth had left her quarters the very moment Darren had, this time, she had to ensure her mother would make the right choice.

A truce was a mercy to the floral domain, after all the sea kingdom had endured due to this war, Eloneth knew it was more difficult on their path to agree to this truce.

"Everyone else thinks for the greater good of the realm, it is time we fairies did the same." Eloneth decided firmly as she knocked on her mother’s door.

As Eloneth pushed open the door and stepped in, she met her mother’s surprised gaze and that of her father.

"Elly, you should be in bed. The healer says you will need time to recover." Lord Dinani broke the silence first, his tone concerned.

Eloneth glanced around her mother’s room, she took note of the fact that her mother’s royal dress, crown and the token of the floral domain had all been laid out on the bed.

This meant Queen Heveneth intended to honor the summons and a sigh of relief escaped Eloneth’s lips.

Eloneth’s gaze then moved back to her mother who quietly stared at Eloneth as though if she said a word, Eloneth would leave.

"Mother will be making an important step in history today... I should be here to help you get ready." Eloneth murmured quietly.

Queen Heveneth’s lips trembled visibly as she struggled to contain her emotions, however she failed terribly, tears slipping out of her eyes.

Queen Heveneth got up to her feet, walking over to Eloneth and taking her daughter’s hand.

Queen Heveneth’s right hand lifted to Eloneth’s hair, a pained look in her eyes as she ran a finger through the snow white tresses which was so different from Eloneth’s glowing gold hair.

No words needed to be said between the two, Eloneth knew just what her mother wanted to say and though Eloneth did not think it would be easy for her to accept her new reality,

She hoped to give her mother a push in the right direction.

"You should not shed tears, mother. On today of all days... the fairy queen should look the most radiant." Eloneth said with a quiet sight.

"Many wrongs I have committed, my child... how can I still hold my head up high as a monarch?" Queen Heveneth asked quietly.

"Mother is the only one who can make things right... that is how." Eloneth replied with a small smile.
