The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 115: Two Things I Can Teach ()
Nile lunged, his staff at the ready, intent on piercing it through the temporarily defenseless sea monster,
His body cut through the water at blinding speed, as he thrust his spear forwards,
However just at that very moment, one of the sea monster’s tentacles regenerated.
Nile prepared himself to block against the incoming attack but it was only then he noticed the tentacle was not heading for him but in an entirely different direction.
"Kristen!" Nile exclaimed,
Nile’s eyes widened as he stopped himself at the very last moment and turned to see that the tentacle was indeed headed for the defenseless merman leaned against the cave wall. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Nile’s heart sank as terror gripped him and he tossed aside all caution, dashing towards the merman.
Nile shot through the water, arriving just in time to place his body over Kristen’s as the tentacle slammed forcefully into his back, his sea pod shattering.
Nile gasped quietly as pain exploded across his back and without the protection of the sea pod, the full force of the turbulent sea waters tossed him off his feet, sending him slamming into the cave wall.
The salty sea water left a burning trail as it forcefully invaded Nile’s system through his mouth and Nile quickly snapped his mouth shut, cringing slightly.
Nile could feel the chilling cold sea water soak his hair, only his clothing remained dry since they had been enchanted by the sea oracle.
Nile was glad they had taken the breathing potion before venturing into the sea kingdom, at least he could still breathe normally as the water tossed and turned furiously, seeming intent to pull Nile apart.
Nile sucked in a deep breath, grabbing hold of a dent in the wall to steady himself as the violent currents grew even more violent.
Nile watched the Sea monster’s tentacles all return as they began spinning around, causing the already turbulent waters to grow even more violent.
Nile breathed deeply as he passed a glance at the merman whose gaze was fixed on him while he seemed to be fighting his inability to move, pain and concern for Nile reflected in his eyes.
Nile summoned his magic, casting another sea pod to resist the currents as he broke into a coughing fit, spitting out the watse that had gotten into his mouth.
Nile then took another deep breath as he allowed a small grin on his lips.
"I’m fine... just a slight hit, nothing I can’t handle." Nile assured when he could speak without getting a mouthful of water.
’You’re not fine.’ Nile could see the words in the merman’s gaze and he chuckled quietly.
"Soon, the other guy will be much worse." Nile promised as he lifted a gaze to see the Sea monster surging towards him.
Nile spun out of the way just in time, the massive bulk of the Sea monster slamming right into the part of the cave wall Nile had just been leaned up against.
The cave trembled at the impact with the massive creature and lumps of rock were dislodged from the roof, dropping down everywhere.
Nile knew if they continued at this pace, the sea monster would cause the cave to collapse on them all anytime soon.
"I’ve had enough of you, I do not have the leisure time to play anymore." Nile said in a dark, deadly tone as he stretched his hand out, summoning his staff to his grasp.
Nile summoned his magic, his eyes glowing as he hit his staff down on the cave ground, sending the sea waters completely still, all the currents halting
Nile’s coat sizzled off, completely disintegrated by the white glow exuded from his body l, along with his inner shirt, leaving him bare chested as his eyes glowed and his canines and claws elongated.
All across Nile’s skin were runes engraved like scars and as his eyes glowed, the runes on his skin also glowed as his hair turned completely white.
Nile’s muscles grew even more prominent and from the lithe spirit guide, he converted into something else entirely, a terrifying being exuding ancient magic.
There was a Crimson red flame marking that had become visible right on the center of his forehead and it also exuded a dim glow.
The Sea monster’s tentacles had all regenerated and the undulating muscles shot at Nile but getting within the vicinity of Nile’s magic glow, the tentacles disintegrated completely without Nile even lifting a limb.
Nile’s gaze lifted to the Sea monster, his violet orbs no longer visible, all that could be seen were two brightly glowing orbs and the deadly aura pouring off of Nile.
"You are nothing but a lower being, you should know better than to anger me." Nile snarled in an animalistic tone, revealing his wolf was present at the surface.
Whatever Nile had become, the dominance and supremacy he exuded was uncompared and though not many had witnessed it, this was the true form of the spirit guide.
The Sea monster seemed to have only now realized it was no match for Nile as it attempted to escape, turning and dashing away in the opposite direction, it’s massive body causing violent ripples in the water.
Nile’s gaze turned to the escaping sea monster, as he stretched a hand towards it, casually drawing a rune in the air with his magic.
"I tried to play fair, but you just had to attack him... that wasn’t very considerate of you. I do not like inconsiderate people." Nile murmured.
"You...I want your soul." Nile said in a dark tone as he waved his hand and the rune shot after the sea monster, attaching itself to the sea monster and with a snap of Nile’s fingers, the sea monster stopped.
It’s massive bulk began trembling violently, thrashing in the water as black slime oozed out of it’s trashing tentacles.
Nile just looked on as though he had nothing to do with what was happening even as the sea monster struggled and struggled till finally it stopped struggling, completely freezing up.
And in the blink of any eye, a glowing white spectral replica of the sea monster emerged from the physical body of the monster, while the body itself collapsed to the ground, the cave trembling at the impact of it’s crash.
This spectral sea monster was in fact the soul of the now dead sea monster and somehow, Nile’s magic had forcefully extracted soul from body.
The spectral sea monster had chains attached to all it’s tentacles and as though something was pulling it back, it retreated back through the waters till the massive creature was hovering before Nile.
Nile stretched out his staff which absorbed the spectral sea monster into it and when the Sea monster had disappeared completely, Nile’s glowing gaze scanned the cavern before it settled on a certain plant growing out from the cave wall, right where the Sea monster had been lurking.
"Water Hydrant." Nile murmured as he moved, surging through the waters till he was right before the plant.
Nile’s staff disappeared from his grasp as he carefully picked the herb with both hands before he turned, his gaze settling on the wide eyed merman.
Nile could see the surprise in the merman’s gaze as he moved back to his side and leaned down to him.
"What? Scared?" Nile asked the merman, the glow in Nile’s eyes had still not receded and neither had his glowing runes or his new form.
Nile watched as the merman shook his head slowly.
"Impressed then?" Nile asked and the merman nodded in response, earning himself a grin from Nile.
"It is an an art of the spirit element, we spirit wolves call it ’Soul Harvesting’. Just like we can summon the souls of the dead with a command, we can do same to the souls of the living."
"And what is a being without it’s soul? Well...you already saw the answer to that for yourself." Nile said in a low tone as he lifted a hand to brush away the stray hair dangling over the merman’s face.
"The spirit element is a link between the dead and the living, while others command nature...we command the Creator’s most treasured creation..." Nile murmured as he rested a hand over the merman’s forehead.
"The souls of all beings created. This is the spirit element Kristen and I am King of the spirit wolves, I do not shed blood but I can do much worse... much darker things. Still impressed?" Nile challenged,
The merman nodded his head again and Nile chuckled.
"Well I would offer to teach you, but that would be against the Creator’s law." Nile said in amusement,
"However there are two things I can teach you," Nile continued,
"First...do not worry over me or fear for my safety, I am tougher than I look most of the time, a single hit can’t do much damage..."
"Secondly, do not try to protect me from danger like you did outside the Northern barrier or look so guilty because I shielded you from a hit,"
"I am spirit guide of Crimson Moon... between the two of us, you silly fish will always be far more vulnerable than I could ever be." Nile murmured, his tone deep and his gaze intense.
