The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 102: First Vision ()
"You want to know what happened?" Nile asked knowingly when Kristen just kept staring at him, without diverting his gaze elsewhere.
Kristen nodded slowly, his lips stretching into what Nile assumed was an uncertain smile.
"You are also not sure if I want to tell you or not?" Nile asked again, Kristen nodded again and Nile chuckled quietly.
"You’re wrong, I do not like keeping things to myself. It burdens my heart and an oracle should never let anything weigh down on his heart." Nile murmured quietly,
"It dampens our connection to the creator, makes us begin to have doubts and insignificant thoughts just like everyone else..."
"But the thing is, an oracle can never be like everyone else, we are born different...we are born vessels, to convey the Creator’s will." Nile continued, turning to pass a glance at Kristen who clearly was listening with rapt attention.
"I had my first vision when I was seven... little more than a babe, yet it was a gory, horrible vision filled with so much blood and death."
"At that time, I had not realized it yet, what it meant to be the Creator’s chosen, I only knew that I had had a nightmare, a horrifying one that left me too terrified to close my eyes for weeks." Nile ran a hand through his hair as he recalled when he that first vision.
"The whole pack was worried, no one could understand what exactly was happening to me, I myself did not understand what was happening and I did not dare tell anyone of the vision I had seen that night..."
"With many sleepless nights, always holed up in my room, shivering in terror... it took it’s toll on me and I fell ill, a high fever that lasted five nights." Nile shuddered slightly as he recalled all too clearly how his skin burned up while he had felt as though he was freezing from within.
"Now that I think about it, I wonder how a seven year old me had survived the terror and bone chilling fear that had gripped me for days on end."
"In those days, I prayed for death, prayed the Creator would grant me relief from the gory sights tormenting my mind, how could I have known it was he who revealed them to me in the first place?" Nile released a mirthless chuckle at this point,
"One would think that was the worst of it, a child spending the rest of his days haunted by the horrifying details of a vivid vision he had failed to understand...but it only got worse." Nile’s eyes fluttered closed as he recalled his very first vision.
"In that vision, I saw it clearly... the earth had trembled as the darkness churned, a forceful blast letting it loose everywhere...there were shadows in the form of man, with long sharp claws and even sharper teeth..."
"And then there were others in the shape of beasts, savage and bloodthirsty."
"They crawled out from the depths of the Earth, red orbs glowing ferociously as they howled, eerie, terrifying howls that pierced through the quiet night."
"Somehow they had broken out from their eternal prison with a vengeance and there I stood in the forest, watching them, my feet frozen up in fear, too terrified to even move."
"They snarled and roared, the sounds they made was like the cries from the very depths of hell and even more and more of them crawled out."
"I knew then that it had all come to an end, I saw the darkness return with my own eyes, they had finally escaped after so long, there was no stopping them."
"I saw with my own eyes the monsters of the ancient texts who had ravaged the earth, claiming over half the population and the lives of hundreds of my ancestors... I saw a horror thought to have ended long before my birth."
"I saw with my own eyes the true forsaken... the darkness itself and by the elements, it was a terrible, terrible sight."
"The creatures formed of the darkness raced for the Crimson Barrier, eager to be set free, they barraged into the barrier with all their might,"
"The barrier fought back, scorching whatever came into contact with it but the more of them destroyed were only replaced by a new wave crawling out from the Earth."
"The darkness was boundless, there was no end to it...in a blink of an eye, there were hundreds of them covering the green fields like sand."
"The moon was covered by darkness, their aura of doom shooting right up to the skies, challenging the Creator’s might as they tore ferociously through the barrier."
"The battle bells were tolled, from the fiery depths of the Flame Den, the Flame Wolves of Crimson Moon answered the call to battle, lead by the Flame Element Lord, they battled the army of the dark."
"From the everflowing waterfall hill and the glades of the Earth Fortress, the water wolves and the Earth wolves were not far behind, rushing to the aid of their kin from the Flame Den."
"Soon the wind wolves of Whirlwind Cliff and the spirit wolves of spirit trail arrived, now unified as one, the Crimson Wolves formed a battle line before the barrier and resisted the army of the dark."
"A battle so fierce, a battle unlike any before, a battle that rivalled the dark war... the outside world knew nothing of the battle the Crimson Wolves had fought alone or the lives sacrificed to protect them."
"An army of darkness even much greater than that from the dark war, it was the beginning of the end. I knew the supernatural realm as we all know it had reached it’s end... there was no escaping the ultimate fate."
"The Crimson Moon could not resist the darkness, we had let the darkness escape the element seal, we had failed in our duty..."
"The Crimson Wolves were waning in energy, the battle had tarried yet they remained standing, protecting each other’s back... and though many had fallen and rivers of Crimson blood flowed, the Crimson Wolves had not faltered, maintaining their battle line."
"But the darkness was even more unyielding and I saw it clearly, that soon all would fall."
"And then the King arrived, the wielder of the Creator’s Flame, Alpha Zewin Togan Moonstone...The Crimson Alpha." There was a glow in Nile’s eyes as he recounted his vision,
"The Creator’s flames were unleashed, sweeping through the army of darkness, their shrieks like the fiends of hell, the true power of the Crimson Alpha, it was earth shaking..."
"The ancient formation was created, the Crimson Wolves risking all to push back the darkness to the element seal...I stood to watch in awe the strength and unyielding will of my kin. The unity and oneness with which they battled."
"And though the blood of my kin flowed unending rivers, yet they pressed on to the end, the darkness was forced back into the element seal but to return the seal to it’s previous strength, a sacrifice was needed... five lives representing each element."
"It was a voluntary sacrifice and my heart bled as I watched them step out."
"Beta Elrod Hunt for the Flame Element... Allen’s father, Head Warrior Heger Moonstone for the Earth Element... Darren’s father."
"Oracle in waiting Lorn for the Spirit Element, Enforcer Kevin Rage for the Wind Element... and the beauty of Crimson Moon, Zariah’s mother for the Water Element... Zariah had been only but a babe, a few months old." Nile’s voice cracked at this point.
"The Seal was restored, at so great a sacrifice...sixty Crimson wolves had fallen but it was deemed a worthy sacrifice. The darkness was sealed away again, the seal would hold for hundreds of years to come."
"Yet on this day, Alpha Zewin declared that the affairs of the outside world would never be ours to interfere again... for while we battled and bled, they lived on in safety and peace, knowing nothing of our sacrifices." Nile lifted a hand to wipe the tears flowing down his cheeks.
"I awoken five nights after my fever, to realize my vision had already come to pass... and Zariah’s mother who had tended to me by my bed for days was gone..."
"And I could have stopped it, if only I had known that the Creator had granted me a glimpse of the future." Nile murmured, his heart aching.
"And for years after that I wondered, why had the Creator let me see this first? A seven year old me who could do nothing to prevent it?"
"Why had he not revealed it to the ruling spirit guide ...or the Oracle in waiting, why me? Why Nile Castiel?" Nile asked in a vulnerable tone, his eyes fluttering closed.
"And again he reveals to me a vision I cannot understand...is it the future or perhaps the past? I know not and I fear that once again, I shall watch the horrible fate happen..." Nile whispered quietly.
