System: Replicating The Heavens-Chapter 473: Ch : Kryllax Vernok
An old man was sitting in a chair.
His body was thin and frail, almost like a dried-up corpse. His skin was pale, faintly gray, and clung tightly to his bones. Deep wrinkles covered his face, and his white hair hung loosely over his shoulders. His entire appearance was dull and lifeless.
His eyes were closed, and he didn't seem to be breathing. It was hard to tell if he was alive or dead. The only thing that showed a faint sign of life was the weak rise and fall of his chest, so slow that one could miss it if they didn't look carefully.
When Alex and Serena stepped inside, the silence of the hut was broken.
The old man's body trembled slightly, ever so faintly, as if he had been disturbed from a deep sleep.
Alex and Serena exchanged glances. Both of them could feel that this place was unusual. It didn't match the rest of the palace at all. The difference between the rest of the palace and this hut was simply too huge.
The air inside the hut was calm, yet heavy, as if some invisible force was lingering around the old man.
"Is he alive?"
Alex took a slow step forward; his eyes fixed on the man in the chair.
Serena didn't answer. She could sense a strange and powerful aura coming from the old man.
This hut and this old man… She knew they were not ordinary.
Moreover, both Alex and Serena felt a strange sensation, as if everything within the Immortal Herb Palace had withered and died countless years ago, everything except this small hut and the old man sitting inside it. It felt as though all the buildings, people, and gardens they had seen were nothing more than illusions, and only this old man was real.
"How many years has it been since someone entered my small world?"
A voice jolted Alex and Serena, who were lost in their own thoughts.
They saw the old man open his eyes at some point in time, and they didn't even see or sense it.
"Senior," both Alex and Serena greeted the old man.
The old man nodded calmly and spoke, "I left this place behind for someone with destiny to enter. The aura you carry is peculiar; it has signs of Chaos. It appears you've met that boy, Atticus Finch!"
Alex was surprised, not expecting this old man to know Atticus. He couldn't help but try looking at the old man's information.

Alex raised his brows in astonishment. He didn't expect his system to actually show him the complete information about the old man.
It has to be known that the system failed the first time he looked at Atticus Finch's information panel. Every attribute only showed question marks.
But now, for reasons unknown, his system seems to be working properly.
Why?
What could be the reason?
Shaking his head, he focused on the Universe Treasure section, which recorded the words "True Record of Dao Refinement". Then there was "Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation", which didn't have an "incomplete" sign in front of its name, unlike the one he was cultivating.
Coupled with the fact that the old man mentioned Atticus earlier, it didn't take Alex long to understand where Atticus obtained his cultivation technique from.
It was also at this moment that Alex truly believed that Atticus had been lying to him from the very beginning. The "Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation" was not created by him. Instead, he obtained it from the old man.
Now that Alex realized the truth, he started doubting Atticus's intention in giving him the incomplete version of this cultivation technique.
Taking a deep breath, he first suppressed all the doubt and curiosity. Then he looked directly into the old man's eyes and asked, "How do you know Atticus? Also, it must be you who gave him the "Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation", right?"
"Umm?"
The old man was surprised. He didn't expect Alex's expression to suddenly change and his tone to become cold. Moreover, he could not see any sign of fear in Alex's eyes. His eyes were clear and cold.
It had been too long since someone had looked directly into his eyes without fear.
A smile unknowingly appeared on his old face. Then he answered, "Atticus was a monstrous prodigy of his own time. Had he been born anywhere else instead of this universe, I think he would have already cultivated to the Saint Manifestation Stage or even the Great Saint Stage by now. Unfortunately, he was born in the wrong galaxy at the wrong time."
"I witnessed the growth of this galaxy with my own eyes. I never interfered with its development. I saw how the cultivation path of this galaxy strayed from the right path but still managed to find a new way forward, reaching the True Divinity Stage. It was during that time that I met a prodigious child named Atticus Finch. I observed him as he cultivated and grew stronger, and by the time he reached the True Divinity Stage, he could no longer advance. So, I gave him a simplified version of a cultivation technique I had created after studying a supreme cultivation technique. This cultivation technique was Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation."
"Unfortunately, the requirement to cultivate the Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation is to abandon all previous cultivation and start over from the very beginning, which is something he was unwilling to do. Now, it seems he has passed the Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation to you. That must be why I can sense Chaos Energy within your body."
Alex nodded.
Indeed, the Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation was passed to him by Atticus, but only an incomplete version.
After thinking for a while, Alex asked again, "What would happen if I were to cultivate an incomplete version of Primordial Chaos Nine Transformation?"
"Hmm?"
Hearing his question, the old man frowned deeply and looked into Alex's questioning eyes.
