Supreme Electromagnetic Tyrant-Chapter 359 - 258 Light Peak
Chapter 359: Chapter 258 Light Peak
Ji Xinghuo looked at the humanoid Crystal Elite Clan member blocking his path.
The other party was about two meters tall, their entire body wrapped in a layer of dark blue metallic armor, which seemed fused to their body but didn’t hinder movement. They also wore a helmet, with the faceplate raised, revealing a face with blurred features, their skin reflecting light like crystal.
It was only then that Ji Xinghuo noticed that the Crystal Elite Clan member didn’t move their mouth when speaking; instead, sound was emitted through the vibrations of a crystal on their forehead.
Their nose was flat, with almost no nostrils visible.
Their eyes were like a pair of gemstones set on their face, with a fixed stare, seemingly devoid of life.
If you didn’t look at the face, their figure was not much different from a Highlander.
This Crystal Elite Clan guard carried no weapons, unarmed, but Ji Xinghuo dared not underestimate them for the other was a legendary powerhouse.
The other spoke in the Highlander dialect of the Xinyalar Language.
Ji Xinghuo furrowed his brows, a fierce look characteristic of a Red Emperor devotee flashed in his eyes, and he asked in a deep voice, "What’s the matter?"
"First-time entrants to Eternal Day City must register," the Crystal Elite guard replied.
"Why don’t others have to?"
Ji Xinghuo scanned the surrounding people and did not find any noticeable difference between himself and them. Many seemed to be visiting for the first time yet passed through unimpeded.
The Crystal Elite guard’s face twitched slightly as if making an expression, but Ji Xinghuo couldn’t tell if they were smiling or conveying some other emotion. Using their crystalline eyes, they gazed at Ji Xinghuo, "Because your strength is too powerful."
Ji Xinghuo’s expression froze.
Hearing the guard’s words, those passing through the city gates cast their gazes over, a portion of them clearly understanding the situation and showing a look of reverence.
Ji Xinghuo, however, didn’t understand. His strength was indeed formidable, but how could the Crystal Elite guard have noticed it?
"Please follow me."
After speaking, the Crystal Elite guard turned and led the way.
Ji Xinghuo had no choice but to follow.
Passing through the massive city gate over twenty meters high, the view suddenly opened up: a majestic and spectacular city unfolded before him. The streets were wide and clean, the sky bright and clear, and countless buildings, platforms, spires, and palaces made of crystal stretched into the horizon.
It was as though a wall separated two worlds.
Outside was the cold, dark highland, but inside the city was warm and bright, as if stepping from wilderness into civilization, making one feel wholly different.
"Please wait here," the Crystal Elite guard said, standing by the street.
Ji Xinghuo noticed that the crystal chip on the guard’s forehead vibrated slightly, emitting a low-frequency sound wave, but he couldn’t hear it.
After about ten seconds, a floating car swiftly arrived and stopped in front of them.
The car’s appearance was simple, resembling a rectangular crystal platform with railing around it, floating about half a meter above the ground.
There was no car front or engine, no driver’s seat, and not even a place to sit. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
It was less like a car and more like a floating skateboard.
The Crystal Elite guard stepped onto it.
Ji Xinghuo followed, standing on the crystal platform, which wobbled slightly but remained generally stable.
The floating car immediately started moving, picking up speed to around 80 kilometers per hour. Ji Xinghuo noticed that the Crystal Elite guard stood at the front, touching the railing where a blue crystal was situated, which seemingly transmitted information upon contact with the guard’s hand.
"So it’s manually operated, a driving system?" Ji Xinghuo thought it was quite novel.
This was technology utterly different from Earth’s. Although he didn’t know the specific principles, he guessed it must be Ether Technology!
Electromagnetic induction swept across the crystal platform beneath his feet, revealing a complex and intricate structure inside.
Its ability to move was not just due to the floating car itself.
Some of the power came from the ground.
Ji Xinghuo observed the ground, paved with the same kind of crystal as the city’s buildings. As the floating car passed, corresponding areas on the ground glowed faintly, with visible energy flowing over the surface, even to the naked eye.
"It’s quite similar to the Superconductive Highway system, but the essence may be completely different," Ji Xinghuo mused silently.
A look of wonder spread across his face, like that of a country person entering the city for the first time.
This was the reaction expected of a Highlander.
The floating car zipped through the streets, occasionally encountering opposing floating cars with Crystal Elite drivers, some alone, some with passengers of other races. They would nod at the Crystal Elite guard beside Ji Xinghuo and then zoom past.
The Crystal Elite guard was focused on controlling the crystal floating car while Ji Xinghuo took in the street views of Eternal Day City.
The entire city was meticulously planned.
Every street, every building, and even the patterns on every crystal construction material followed a unified design style: clean, elegant, and grand yet entirely rational, without a single discordant or shadowy corner to be found.
This was a city free of dirt, a city of light, akin to heaven.
Perhaps the only mismatch with the city’s style was the pedestrians on the streets and the residents within.
Races from the Star Realm and aliens of all sorts, humanoid and non-humanoid, tall and short, fat and thin, black, white, blue, red, and some indescribable, of unknown origins, were all seen here.
Despite such diversity, no one dared to cause trouble. The streets bustled with activity, shops teemed with customers, and the city was extremely prosperous.
Although most people carried weapon equipment, not a single conflict was seen.
Even the followers of the Red Emperor had become peacemakers.
The seemingly tranquil and peaceful city in fact hid deadly threats. Those crystal spires, at least a hundred meters high and the tallest exceeding a kilometer, were all part of the defense system; the floating obelisk-like structures in the sky were likely some kind of energy weapons.
Underground, there were many deep spaces, akin to an underground city.
About every three hundred meters or so, there was a crystal statue over four meters tall on the side of the street, shaped like a giant wearing metallic armor, motionless.
But these were not statues.
Their Ether Energy fluctuations were very subtle. If they were to burst forth, it would certainly be extremely intense.
Occasionally, even more powerful crystal statues would walk around; they were like giant machine sentinels patrolling the streets.
Ji Xinghuo had a sense of being displaced in time and space.
This was not the Star Realm, but a trade planet located in the Milky Way!
The floating car was headed towards a mountain peak in the center of Eternal Day City. At the current speed, it would take a few more minutes to arrive.
Ji Xinghuo asked, "How do you know I’m stronger than others?"
The Crystal Elite Clan guard looked back at him and raised his hand to point at his eyes, "My head is implanted with a tool that can directly discern the strength of others’ Star Power, and roughly gauge your strength."
He didn’t make it very clear, probably considering that Highlanders from primitive tribes wouldn’t understand, not knowing what Ether Technology is.
Upon hearing this, Ji Xinghuo immediately understood and was very curious.
"Can you elaborate?"
"I cannot," said the Crystal Elite Clan guard indifferently, "I can only tell you that your strength has triggered the alert standards of Eternal Day City, and you must undergo the registration process."
Ji Xinghuo was helpless.
But there wasn’t much he could do. Ever since entering Eternal Day City, he had realized that there were too many powerful beings in the city!
Every Crystal Elite Clan member scanned by Electromagnetic Induction was legendary!
Evolver’s of other races with Third and Fourth Rank made up one-tenth, and there were many Fifth Rank legends, even more than ten Sixth Rank Heavenly Kings had already been detected.
And these were only the ones Electromagnetic Induction could scan.
There must be even more powerful beings in those magnetic blind spots.
"Where are we going?" Ji Xinghuo asked again.
"To the special resident registration office of Eternal Day City," replied the Crystal Elite Clan guard robotically. He immediately responded to questions he was supposed to answer and refrained entirely from topics he was not supposed to discuss, without mixing personal emotions, adding, "It’s located at the foot of Light Peak, we’ll be there soon."
Light Peak?
Ji Xinghuo looked up at the towering peak in the city, and as the distance closed, the majestic mountain loomed higher in his view, and the many spires built on the mountain seemed even more magnificent.
Soon, Electromagnetic Induction scanned Light Peak ahead of time.
Indeed, just as he had speculated, Light Peak was a forbidden area of the Crystal Elite Clan, with the vast majority being magnetic blind spots.
Still, Electromagnetic Induction managed to detect some clues; the mountain body of Light Peak was hollowed out, possessing a vast and complex inner space, like a labyrinth.
Observing this somewhat abrupt peak, which was extremely inconsistent with the terrain of Eternal Day City, and with the internal structure and surface characteristics of the mountain replete with traces of excavation and construction, Ji Xinghuo could not help but entertain a bold speculation.
This three-thousand-meter-tall Light Peak was entirely man-made!
Given the Crystal Elite Clan’s Ether Technology and the number of powerful beings, having entered the Star Realm for over seventy thousand years, it wasn’t surprising to achieve this feat over such a long stretch of time.
The reason was also straightforward.
The Star Gate of the Crystal Elite Clan, it must be located within Light Peak, with the entire mountain serving to protect the Star Gate.
As the floating car approached the foot of Light Peak, a unique blind spot appeared in Ji Xinghuo’s Electromagnetic Induction, at the very center of the base of Light Peak. To be precise, it wasn’t a magnetic blind spot but a spherical void about fifty meters in diameter.
Within this void, there was no magnetic field pattern, nor any other information.
It was like a black hole.
This situation was familiar to Ji Xinghuo; he experienced it every time he went in and out of the Earth Star Gate. As expected, that was the Star Gate of the Crystal Elite Clan.
The stringent and unique location confirmed his speculation.
Light Peak was indeed man-made.
"We have arrived, please step out." The floating car stopped in front of a towering crystal building, and the Crystal Elite Clan guard led Ji Xinghuo out of the vehicle and into the grand hall of the building.
The hall was spacious and bright, with a dome several tens of meters high. Crystal windows were installed on the surrounding walls, a row of colorful crystal lamps hung overhead, and the floor was as clean as a mirror. Walking on it, the sound of footsteps echoed in the hall, creating an atmosphere of solemnity.
There was a Crystal Elite Clan member in the hall.
He resembled an upright serpent, probably twelve meters in total length, with the lower part of his body below the waist covered in metallic armor, his tail coiled in several loops on the ground, and the upper body humanoid with six arms, wearing a well-tailored white coat, and a head like that of a human, with quite distinct features.
"Welcome to Eternal Day City!"
The serpent-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member was exceedingly polite, the crystal chip on his forehead vibrating as he produced an ethereal and ancient voice. From his elevated position, his gem-like eyes observed Ji Xinghuo.
Just one look made Ji Xinghuo shudder.
Because the serpent-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member before him was a powerful Sixth Rank Evolver, a Heavenly King on Earth!
