Super Soldier in the City-Chapter 1962 - 2025: Male or Female?

Over on Li Yifei’s side, Chu Xiaoyao had a hard time getting out for once, so she wouldn’t let Li Yifei go home so easily. In the afternoon, Li Yifei first accompanied Chu Xiaoyao to shop around the computer city. After Chu Xiaoyao ordered several components, Li Yifei realized that each of the computers in the girl’s bedroom cost over a hundred thousand.

Yet, an average household computer costs only two or three thousand. This girl spends a hundred thousand on a single setup...

Li Yifei didn’t know what to say. Luckily, he had money; otherwise, he really couldn’t afford to keep this girl.

"This is nothing. There are computers that cost a million. But no matter how expensive, they come with limitations now," Chu Xiaoyao said, pouting. Just as she finished speaking, her eyes lit up and she dragged Li Yifei forward.

"Where are we going?" Li Yifei asked.

"I know there’s a little shop ahead that sells really tasty and special things. Honey, come on, let’s go!" Chu Xiaoyao said eagerly.

Li Yifei’s hand was being pulled along as he quickly kept pace, saying, "There’s no need to hurry like this."

"Why not? Heehee, you’ll find out when we get there," Chu Xiaoyao turned back to say, just as she wanted to explain to Li Yifei, a dark shadow suddenly shot out from the side, scaring Chu Xiaoyao. Li Yifei quickly pulled her into his arms, turned, and used his back to shield her from the person who rushed over.

"Thud!"

"Crash!"

A series of sounds followed as the person crashing in was knocked aside by Li Yifei’s body, and the items he was holding fell to the ground. The contents seemed to be porcelain or glass, smashing into fragments upon impact. Li Yifei protected Chu Xiaoyao, preventing her from being hit, while the person who nearly collided with her went flying, crashing into a nearby shelf and landing with a groan. This man uttered a couple of groans before quickly getting up.

Li Yifei looked coldly at the young man, while Chu Xiaoyao, her face pale, also gazed at him; clearly, the man’s sudden appearance had startled her.

"Are you blind when you walk?" the man got up, seeing that his precious item had smashed, and hurried to check it only to find the exquisite glass item shattered to pieces.

Chu Xiaoyao blinked, feeling the muscles of the man holding her tense up, seemingly ready to react. She quickly pinched his arm and said, "Honey, wait a moment."

"What’s up?" Li Yifei looked down at Chu Xiaoyao, only to see her looking at the man who nearly hit her, brows furrowing as she asked, "Are you Chu Nan?"

"You’re a virgin; your whole family... uh... Xiaoyao?" The man on the ground spat angrily, then glanced up at Chu Xiaoyao and quickly recognized her as well.

"It really is you!" Chu Xiaoyao shouted excitedly, breaking free from Li Yifei’s embrace and rushing to Chu Nan. She held his hand and exclaimed, "Oh my, I almost didn’t recognize you—why did you cut your hair so short?"

"Don’t even mention it..." Chu Nan instinctively grabbed his hair, then glanced at the shattered vase on the ground, looking a bit sad. Chu Xiaoyao quickly said, "Chu Nan, I’m sorry. It’s my husband’s fault; we’ll compensate you."

Chu Nan was about to speak when, suddenly, a group of burly men came rushing down from the floor above. One of them, upon spotting Chu Nan, immediately pointed and shouted, "He’s over there, grab him!"

The three here heard this as well. Li Yifei and Chu Xiaoyao quickly turned to look. When Chu Nan saw the men, his expression changed, and with no regard for the items on the ground, he took off running.

This was a mall with a fair number of people, and Chu Nan quickly disappeared into the crowd.

The men, four in total, soon reached Li Yifei and Chu Xiaoyao. While three continued the chase, the one who had shouted looked at the shattered items on the ground, his expression darkening. After a moment of silence, he turned to Li Yifei and Chu Xiaoyao and questioned, "Are you two with that guy?"

"Are you stupid? Which eye of yours saw us with him!" Li Yifei, holding Chu Xiaoyao’s hand, replied.

"You!" The man was choked by Li Yifei’s curt response, immediately angered, but Li Yifei was tall and burly, at least twenty centimeters taller than him, so he didn’t dare truly challenge him.

"Is it over?" Li Yifei questioned in return.

The man snorted, "It’s over!"

"Heh," Li Yifei chuckled lightly and pulled Chu Xiaoyao away. The man shot a venomous glare at their backs. When he had rushed over earlier, he had only seen the three of them talking and didn’t understand their relationship, so he couldn’t force Li Yifei and Chu Xiaoyao to stay.

Chu Xiaoyao glanced back, noticing they weren’t being followed, and sighed, saying, "Honey, aren’t you curious?"

"Of course, you almost jumped into another man’s arms!" Li Yifei said wistfully.

Chu Xiaoyao gave Li Yifei a surprised look, then understood his meaning and couldn’t help but smile, "Yeah, that’s my old flame. Didn’t expect to run into her here."

"Old flame?" Li Yifei immediately frowned. He had been teasing with his statement, but hearing Chu Xiaoyao say this, he felt a twinge of jealousy and retorted, "Didn’t you say I’m your first love?"

His words were loud, and several women shopping nearby glanced back at her. Li Yifei glared at them before seriously continuing to stare at Chu Xiaoyao.

"Silly honey! You claim to have been with countless women, but can’t even tell men from women?" Chu Xiaoyao knew not to joke about such things with Li Yifei, so after teasing a little, seeing her man genuinely getting upset, she quickly explained.

"A woman?" Li Yifei blinked, startled, recalling but still unable to believe that the person called Chu Nan was female. From face to voice, even body shape—it was totally a man! So he asked, "Are you sure she’s a woman? Don’t lie to me."

"Why would I lie!" Chu Xiaoyao quickly hugged Li Yifei’s arm, shook it, and explained, "She’s really a man—oh no, I mean a woman. She just looks like a man. We were high school classmates, same class. Used to skip classes, go online and play games together. She took good care of me, and would stand up for me if anyone bullied me."

"Really?" Li Yifei still doubted. He even tried to recall if there was an Adam’s apple, but Chu Nan’s attire was masculine, and her hair was as short as his—a rarity for women.

Chu Xiaoyao nodded quickly, "Of course it’s true, not just true but absolutely true!"

"You never mentioned her," Li Yifei turned and asked.

"We were close in our first year, went okay in the second, but she dropped out in the third year. They say she got involved in some shady stuff, though I was very curious back then!"

Li Yifei nodded, "I believe that. My wife still likes guys, right?"

"Too bad she ran off, otherwise... uh, we smashed her stuff and didn’t even compensate her..." Chu Xiaoyao said, both realizing the problem. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"What should we do? What if it was valuable, and Chu Nan is at a loss?"

Grabbing Li Yifei’s hand, Chu Xiaoyao suggested, "Should we go back, take the stuff, and I can ask a friend for her contact later?"

"It’s no use, the chasers must have taken it," Li Yifei shook his head.

Chu Xiaoyao clicked her tongue, realizing this too. She nodded lightly, "Probably. I wonder who Chu Nan upset."
