Super Soldier in the City-Chapter 1934 - 1997: Rescue in Action
The two followed the plan, drove to a location, and let Xu Shanshan off. Li Yifei continued forward. Before getting out, Xu Shanshan blew a kiss to Li Yifei and said, "Husband, if we can’t rescue them, don’t let them fall into enemy hands."
"Haha, I know, you go!" Li Yifei nodded. Xu Shanshan meant that if they couldn’t rescue the people, it was better to kill them directly than let them suffer at the hands of the enemy. Li Yifei had considered this possibility, but he wasn’t thinking about it now. If he could save them, he would. Never give up on any compatriot; that was Li Yifei’s belief.
The two split up. Xu Shanshan displayed her abilities even though she couldn’t speak the language. She was still extremely capable and quickly got hold of a medium-sized vehicle that could seat more than twenty people. The vehicle was in good condition, and importantly, the driver didn’t even react before passing out. She tied up the driver to keep him under control and drove to the agreed location, which the two had discussed beforehand.
Meanwhile, Li Yifei drove slowly to the secret detention site. According to Jialari and the arms dealer, this secret base was underground, with at least three entrances, serving as exit points as well. However, one entrance could only be used for exiting, not entering. Underground was a 150-meter-long passage constructed for emergencies. If the front was captured, people inside could escape through this passage, which even crossed a river. With this path, Li Yifei’s operation was easier. He parked the car about 200 meters away, securing his gun, with dozens of nails in a coat pocket and carrying a Type 38 rifle. His robe was wide enough to conceal several more guns if needed.
"Stop!" A person suddenly emerged, blocking Li Yifei, looking at him with hostility, and said, "This is not a place you can be. Turn around immediately."
Li Yifei displayed a hint of confusion in his eyes, his mouth slightly open as if he did not understand what the person was saying.
"Damn it, idiot! Get lost." The person instinctively thought Li Yifei was an idiot and pushed him, causing Li Yifei to stagger. Li Yifei muttered indistinctly, "You’re the idiot."
"Haha, damn it, still not an idiot like this? Get lost quickly, don’t make me lose my temper and not recognize anyone!" the person said, intending to kick Li Yifei down, but Li Yifei sprinted off, not running backward but into a nearby alley. The person cursed and chased after him.
Not far into the alley, Li Yifei disappeared from sight. Just as the person was puzzled, the sound of a swift blow came, and Li Yifei knocked the person down with a punch.
Returning, Li Yifei had already changed into the person’s clothes, carrying his gun and wearing the person’s badge on his chest. Though outside management was lax, below required identification to enter.
Adjusting his clothes, Li Yifei lit a cigarette he had taken from the person earlier, holding it in his mouth, and confidently walked in.
There weren’t many buildings on the ground, although guarded, they were quite lax. Li Yifei easily arrived in front of a two-story building. Someone at the door spoke, "Saba, quickly throw away the cigarette, forgot you can’t smoke here?"
"Oh, damn it, forgot again, hope they don’t deduct my pay?" Li Yifei imitated the earlier person’s voice. He had changed into the person’s clothing, made some appearance adjustments, with a face full of beard, making it harder to identify. Besides, Li Yifei hadn’t faced the person directly, so they didn’t notice anything amiss.
"Alright, this time it’s fine, not next time, go inside!" The person waved him away without looking at Li Yifei.
Li Yifei used the card to swipe in. As soon as he entered, the interior was drastically different from the dilapidated outside, unexpectedly an extensive hidden space. Taking the elevator to the floor below, Li Yifei found several armed guards at the entrance, and just as Li Yifei was about to enter, he was blocked.
These people clearly didn’t coexist well with the surface personnel, treating Li Yifei quite rudely. Li Yifei quickly raised his hands and said, "Alright, I’ll leave now."
"Get lost quickly, is this a place you can be?" The person scolded, while Li Yifei nodded, observing the surroundings. Without spotlights, hmm, that made it easier. Li Yifei turned to leave. This underground floor wasn’t a single path; besides the elevator, there was a staircase. No one blocked Li Yifei as he took the stairs, as there was no one around.
Thus, descending to the second underground level, though some saw Li Yifei, they merely gave him aloof looks without intervening.
Reaching the end, Li Yifei discovered the allies he needed to rescue. All ten were detained here, divided into two rooms, each housing five individuals, chained up in bad conditions. Each bore signs of having been tortured during interrogation.
Li Yifei walked past, glanced at them, and continued moving forward.
"Hey, you, come here!" As he walked, a person suddenly emerged from a room, pointing at Li Yifei.
Li Yifei looked over and said, "Are you calling me?"
"Nonsense, hurry up and come over, help me move some stuff." Li Yifei’s attire clearly marked him as a laborer, so the other party didn’t hesitate to order him around. Li Yifei nodded, "Okay."
Upon entering the room, Li Yifei realized it was a chamber filled with torture devices, implements designed for interrogation and pain. Some of these tools still bore dark red bloodstains, proof of their horrific use. The person ordered Li Yifei to move one of these implements to the room where the Tiger Company comrades were held, and muttered, "Damn, these Huaxia People’s mouths are so tough. I wasn’t authorized to use injections; just relying on these torture devices won’t make them talk."
The man complained to himself, causing Li Yifei to pause. He suddenly stopped and looked at the man, who, after a few seconds of hearing no sound of movement, turned around to glare at him, "What are you looking at? Are you brainless? Don’t tell me you can’t move this thing!"
"It’s not that." Li Yifei smiled, provoking immediate anger from the man, who strode back, pointed a finger at Li Yifei, and said, "Didn’t you hear me? I told you to move this thing and follow me, you ****!"
Li Yifei’s smile widened. He said, "Your voice is loud, and annoying."
"Damn it, who do you think you are, a temp worker trying to rise up? I’m telling you, you’d better move this thing right now, or I’ll have you jobless in no time, damn it."
"Snap!" Li Yifei slapped him, cutting off his words. With his other hand, he blocked his body, grabbed his throat, and with a slight force, flung him onto the torture device. Li Yifei knew these tools well and knew how to use them. He pressed the man down with one hand and began to operate with the other.
This particular evil device was designed to pin down a person’s limbs while a metal rod in the center could be inserted into the body. The tip of the rod had a barb that could pierce the flesh, causing immense pain and damage if pulled out, and continuously drew blood when inserted.
Li Yifei secured his limbs and sealed his mouth. The man stared with wide eyes, full of horror. Li Yifei smiled and said, "Shh, it’s best to stay quiet, or you might just die."
On the torture device was a man of extreme cruelty, responsible for interrogations and tortures, committing heinous acts without remorse. Yet, he never thought he would one day find himself on the receiving end of such treatment. And why was this happening?
He couldn’t understand, and Li Yifei wasn’t planning to ask him anything. Grabbing some steel spikes from the side, Li Yifei held one in his hand and aimed at the man’s calf, striking with a palm to drive it in.
Ordinarily, a slap might lodge the spike slightly, but not pierce through, especially through bone. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
The man on the device experienced the torture of his own creation for the first time. The intense pain made his eyeballs protrude significantly, yet his body, restrained, could only struggle feebly.
Li Yifei smiled faintly, undeterred. The man had tortured his comrades countless times; driving in some spikes was merciful in comparison. This was, after all, what the spikes were made for - to impale people. Li Yifei was merely putting them to good use.
The second spike went in quickly, followed by a third and fourth... After the fourth spike, the man had lost consciousness three times, the pain unbearable by any human, wishing for death to escape the suffering.
Of course, Li Yifei wouldn’t permit him to die so easily. Aligning the device’s own metal pipe with the man’s stomach, Li Yifeng seemed unsatisfied with the position and adjusted its alignment to the heart. Then, with a gentle push, he inserted the pipe.
The man’s eyes bulged, and moments later his body went limp, though he wasn’t dead, merely passed out again from the excruciating pain.
Li Yifei grinned because this person had previously harmed his comrades, so he took an equally ruthless approach with him. Li Yifei felt this was only natural and bore no psychological burden.
After dealing with this man, Li Yifei glanced around at the cold torture devices, each stained with blood. Looking at the man, he pushed the pipe further, piercing the heart. Instantly, a large stream of blood spurted from the pipe, resembling a fountain...
Li Yifei’s mouth curled into a cold smile as he turned and strode out.
