29: Burying the Talisman

After the first successful attempt, Peter Brown seemed to have found his groove in making talismans, and spent the following days focusing on how to perfect the Jade Tablets while recovering his True Qi.
To his surprise, Peter gradually gained experience and only failed seven more times.
Soon, seventy-two Jade Tablets with shimmering lights were laid in front of him.
Success!
Peter felt delighted when he saw the required Jade Tablets completed.
After storing the seventy-two Jade Tablets, Peter finally left the room.
This time, making talismans not only brought long strides in Peter’s talisman-making skills but also helped him notice that his True Qi had become more robust after the continuous polishing.
He had spent a few days fully dedicated to inscribing the Jade Tablets and only realized how comfortable the warm sunshine was when he stepped outside.
“Pete, have you finally finished?” Kate didn’t peek at Peter’s work anymore, and the family behaved normally in his presence.
“It’s done.
Everything’s fine.”
Peter thought to himself that he should research how to make protective Jade Tablets for his family members.
“Peter, most constructions on the hill are almost completed.
Mr.
Denzel has asked a few times about the seventy-two formation eyes you want them to dig.”
“Alright, let me check it out first.”
As they spoke, Peter headed towards the hill.
During this visit, Peter noticed the stark change in the once-barren hill, as it had turned into a hub of construction following the blueprint.
Checking the areas designated for planting medicinal ingredients, Peter realized that one of them had already been planted with various medicinal herbs, thanks to the efforts of Quinn and the two other girls.
Due to the scorching heat, workers were hard to find along the way.
Peter inspected each construction site, all of which were nearing completion.
Unconsciously, he arrived at a vertical pit, which he knew was the location of one of the formation eyes.
In fact, if Peter had already reached the Qi Refining Third Level, he wouldn’t have needed to dig pits.
He could directly inject his True Qi into the ground.
However, since his cultivation was only at the Qi Refining First Layer, his True Qi wasn’t strong enough, so digging pits was necessary.
Seeing that nobody was around, Peter took out a Jade Tablet from his pocket and threw it into the pit.
More than ten meters deep, the Jade Tablet was tossed right in.
Although the Jade Tablet shimmered with a colorful glow indoors, it didn’t stand out much here in the daytime.
It entered the pit without drawing attention.
Peter kicked some soil into the pit, burying the Jade Tablet without a trace. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
It’s time to bury the Jade Tablets!
Afterward, Peter casually walked around each pit, pretending to inspect the construction when others saw him from afar; they didn’t notice his secretive behavior.
One by one, the Jade Tablets were tossed into the pits and then buried with soil.
It took two hours for Peter to finally throw the last Jade Tablet into the pit.
Next, he would need to activate the Spiritual Gathering Array in the central area after all construction was completed.
Merely burying the seventy-two Jade Tablets wouldn’t work.
A central pivot formation eye must be set up in the center.
Only then could the entire formation unfold naturally.
After finishing this task, Peter approached a construction site where villas were being built.
Denzel Evans was also at the site.
Seeing Peter’s arrival, he hurriedly greeted him, “Mr.
Brown, I was just looking for you.”
“I heard that you were looking for me.”
“Yes, I just want to ask, how should we handle those vertical pits?”
“Well, I’m thinking about it.
Just have someone collect some broken palm-sized glass and throw them into the pits, then bury them.
That should work.”
“Is it that simple?”
“Yeah, that’s what the fengshui master said.
I don’t know the details, but I believe it will work.”
Denzel replied, “Alright, as you wish.”
Seeing Denzel leave to make arrangements, Peter couldn’t help but smile.
The stones were only meant as a cover, while the real formation eyes were his Jade Tablets.
Of course, the broken glass wasn’t useless.
It could amplify the formation’s effectiveness and make the Spiritual Gathering Array even more powerful.
“Quinn, how’s your mother doing?” Peter noticed the busy Quinn, and remembered that now that he was at the Qi Refining First Layer with True Qi inside him, he could do some in-depth treatment.
“Peter, my mom is still bedridden.” Quinn’s eyes filled with tears as she spoke of her mother.
Peter sighed.
Quinn’s family was really struggling.
With her parents both gone, she and her paralyzed mother had been left behind along with the 14-year-old Quinn, who took care of everything for both of them.
Peter sighed.
Quinn was really struggling with her family’s situation.
Her paternal grandparents died young and they should have lived comfortably.
But her own parents went to work at a local coal kiln, which suddenly collapsed.
This resulted in the death of her father and her mother badly injured.
As such, Quinn was left with her bedridden mother at the age of fourteen.
Quinn was really capable, who took care of everything for the both of them.
Seeing this girl just two years younger than himself, Peter felt great admiration for her perseverance in supporting her mom through these years.
“Quinn, I know some medical skills.
If it’s alright, I’d like to go with you to check on your mother.
What do you say?”
“Peter, do you really have medical skills?”
“I don’t know if I can cure her, but I do know some traditional remedies.
Let’s go and see your mom.”
Quinn hesitated and said, “Many doctors have tried but couldn’t cure her!”
“Come on, I just want to see your mom.
What’s wrong with that?
Am I not welcome?”
“Don’t say that, Peter.
Let’s go.”
As Peter followed Quinn back to her house, he inquired about her mother’s condition.
Through their conversation, Peter learned more about Quinn’s mother, Aurelia, who had given birth to Quinn at eighteen.
She used to be a capable woman, but after the accident, she had been bedridden with waist nerve injuries.
Knowing this, Peter felt more confident.
When they were about to reach Quinn’s house, he said, “Wait a moment.
I’m going to get some silver needles.” With that, Peter darted back to his house.
Peter had bought a set of silver needles after treating someone in town.
Knowing that he might need them, now was a good time to bring them along.
Watching Peter sprint back to his house, Quinn’s eyes shone with gratitude for his help.
