Chapter 329: Please Find Her

"Dahlia," Bradon called my name again as he came closer.

I knew that he was waiting for me to respond to him, but my mind was still struggling to process the fact that there was a very high chance that my sister was now back in the city, and I didn’t know how to break the news to him. It was a very strange feeling not to know what I was feeling exactly at that moment as various emotions grappled for supremacy within my chest.

"My sister is back," I said in a low murmur as I felt my brows draw together in a frown. I couldn’t find the right words, so I ended up spitting out the first words that came to mind.

"Diana is back?" Bradon said, and I could hear the surprise in his voice. I couldn’t help but wonder what he thought or felt about the fact that my sister had returned.

"Did you know about this?" I asked as I stared at his face.

Although he looked genuinely surprised when I told him that Diana was back, I wasn’t sure if he knew about this in advance. If I had to take a guess, I would say that Bradon was just as surprised as I was with this sudden turn of events. Desmond’s smiling face came back to mind when he told me that he had a present for me and that it would likely solve my problems. Back then, I surely did not foresee that this was the solution that he wanted to give me. Having Diana back was surely a solution to my problem of having to juggle two roles at the same time; however, her sudden return brought about a whole new set of problems for me, and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to handle them.

"I didn’t know about this beforehand, but I am quite certain about who is behind this," Bradon said, and I could feel his mood darken slightly. It was clear that he didn’t appreciate being left in the dark and being surprised by Desmond.

It’s Desmond. Who else could it be?" I muttered.

I was sure that Desmond was having a good laugh right about now. Although I knew that he wanted to help me, I also knew that Desmond probably had ulterior motives that I wasn’t aware of for bringing my sister back. Of course, I looked forward to seeing Diana again after so long, but I couldn’t help feeling a slightly sinking feeling in my chest when I thought that something must have gone wrong for her to return so suddenly like this. Diana seemed so sure of herself when she ran off with the love of her life. She probably truly believed that she would never have to return, so the fact that she was back meant that something might have gone wrong with their relationship. It was just so difficult for me to believe that Diana was back with her lover. In order to find out the truth, I had to meet up with Diana as soon as possible.

"I need to meet my sister," I told Bradon as I turned to face him directly.

"I understand," Bradon said after nodding his head in agreement.

The funny thing was that although I recognized the garden that she was at, there was no guarantee that Diana was still there. If anything, I was sure that my sister wasn’t simply waiting for me at that garden that we used to hang out. I hated that she was teasing me in this way because it didn’t give me any clue of how to find her or get in touch with her. If I was patient, I could have sat back and relaxed while I waited for Diana to get in touch with me; however, I wasn’t exactly in the position to be patient.

"I need you to find her and as soon as possible," I pleaded to Bradon for his help without hesitation.

"I’ll find her," Bradon replied promptly.

I hope that you’ve been well, sister...

**The next morning**

Naturally, I didn’t catch a wink of sleep the night before. Even late into the night, I found myself staring at my phone screen as I waited anxiously for a notification to pop out that would notify me that I had received some kind of message from my sister. Despite my efforts to stay up, Diana did not make any effort to get in contact with me. Although Bradon had promised me to find her and I knew that it wouldn’t be long until he would live up to his promise, I felt so restless that it felt like time was crawling by at such a painfully slow pace.

At first, I truly believed that I would feel nothing but great happiness and relief if I could just meet my sister again. I truly believed that it would be a dream come true moment for us to be reunited after so long. Admittedly, after thinking that I might not be able to see my sister again, the fact that we might come face-to-face very soon should have lifted my spirits like nothing else. That was probably why I couldn’t quite understand the feeling of uneasiness in the pit of my stomach that made me feel queasy inside.

Perhaps I was just worried for my sister, and then I began thinking of the worst-case scenario that she may have broken up with her man. I let out a long sigh before rolling my eyes upwards towards the ceiling when I thought that that possibility wasn’t exactly too unrealistic. Based on the historical data that I had on my own sister, the end of her relationship with the so-called love of her life was probably the reason why she was coming back. As to why the timing felt so perfect, I had no idea what to attribute it to except for heaven’s will. Even though I didn’t believe for a moment that Diana had somehow managed to find the love of her life, there was honestly a time when I prayed for her to be right just this once in her choice of a man.
