Chapter 130: Unspoken Truth

“Mhmm...”

Dahlia suddenly stirred while making a soft whimpering sound. My entire body froze as I feared that she might wake up. When Dahlia continued sleeping silently just like she had done before, I was able to relax again. Although I liked seeing Dahlia speaking her mind, I also liked seeing her resting peacefully.

‘How dare you do this to me when you were just with her?!’

I could understand a little how Dahlia arrived at the conclusion that she had. When that woman walked in, I had no idea who she was although I recognized immediately that she must be on of Anthony’s lovers. Since Anthony’s condition was still being kept a secret from everyone, none of his lovers were informed that he would be missing from action for a while until he recovers. Of course, there was no reason why anyone had to explain that to them.

Just thinking about how Annetta would react if she were to find out that one of her son’s lovers barged all the way into his office curved my lips up into a smirk. It was truly bad luck and bad timing that Dahlia had to be there to witness that. Anthony and I are close, and it wasn’t uncommon for us to talk about various things including the topic of women. To make our switch seamless, Anthony would tell me key things that happened in his life as well. However, that didn’t mean that he listed all of his lovers to me and that also did not mean that I bothered to remember any of their faces or names. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

When the woman, who I later learnt was called Talulah, waltzed into Anthony’s office I couldn’t put a name to her face or her face to a name. I was going to ask her to leave right away or call the security team to drag her out but when Dahlia began reacting, I just decided to wait and see what she was going to do or say next. I honestly did not anticipate that Talulah would have such despicable and disrespectful things to say to Diana given her position and it was probably my lapse of judgement that made me hesitate to order security to deal with her right away.

In the end, Dahlia decided to leave after uttering her snarky comments. Back then, I didn’t think that she was that angry and I also never thought that she would think that Talulah was somehow my lover. After all, it was Anthony that she was looking for and it was Anthony’s personal office where she turned up. How Dahlia truly arrived at that conclusion still puzzled me. It was thanks to Zain’s message that alerted me that Dahlia wasn’t in the best of moods while she was buying everything that she laid eyes on at one of the malls that allowed me to follow her.

Given the stern warning that I gave Talulah while trying my best to act as Anthony, I was certain that she would not turn up again to his office without getting his permission first. I hated seeing her cry fake tears while complaining that Anthony had been out of touch and that she couldn’t get in touch with him no matter how hard she tried. I bet her money was running out, and because Anthony wasn’t conscious and well, her monthly allowance hadn’t been deposited into her account.

“I’ll make sure that your monthly allowance is deposited into your account,” I told her before faking a warm smile.

The moment she heard those words, she smiled as her eyes lit up. That was when I knew that I had found the right solution to deal with this kind of problem for good. I made a mental note to get someone to look into paying all the mistresses that Anthony kept on the side so that something of this nature wouldn’t repeat itself. I also made a silent promise to myself that I would hit Anthony when he wakes up for making me go through this painful ordeal of dealing with his women in his place.

Not everything about this unanticipated event was bad because I got to see another side of Dahlia that I had never seen before. I couldn’t help but wonder if Dahlia would believe me if I told her that I have never seen Diana in her and that I had ever only mistaken her for her sister just once before and that was the first time that I met her. Being as used to acting as Anthony’s shadow as I was, I didn’t have much trouble differentiating an imitation shadow from the original person. The reason why I couldn’t tell that she was Dahlia and not Diana on that day when we first met was simply because I had never met Diana before.

...

**Dahlia’s point of view**

The first thing I realized when I opened my eyes the following morning was the fact that I wasn’t the only one in bed. I didn’t even remember how or when I fell asleep the night before. After talking with Bradon about that woman, our conversation did not get anywhere, and he must have gotten tired of trying convincing me to believe him. Not that it felt like he put in any persistent effort on that front. Something led to another, and we ended up having sex again until I fell asleep. That must be what happened because I did end up waking up in his bed with him still sleeping next to me.

Wait?!

I opened my eyes wide before blinking a couple of times to make sure that my eyes were not fooling me. To my surprise once again, Bradon was still sleeping close to me on the bed. I was sure that it was already quite late and way past whatever time it was in the morning when he would usually leave the mansion. I placed a hand over my mouth to keep myself from screaming in shock.

Why is he still here?

Thankfully, Bradon seemed to be sleeping peacefully. For a moment, I feared that I might have woken him. Since I didn’t quite know how to face him, I figured that it was best if I just got out of bed and leave his room.
