STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 784: Part 6: Beast Invasion (5th Zone)
5th Zone, Wilderness
Jeremy Night killed the four-legged beast. The rhino was right in his sight. He couldn’t let the beasts escape. He took the initiative to confront the beast, reaching it in a couple of steps.
The rhino was over 3 meters tall. It was a massive creature for a Tier-4 Corrupted beast. Its size and thick skin posed a difficulty for anyone.
Jeremy used "Star Fist" without any hesitation. His right fist snapped out.
Smash!
His attack came at the right time. In a flash, his right fist came in contact with the creature’s side. A second later, the Star Fist power exploded. The force blasted away skin and flesh.
The attack ruptured the internal organs. The rhino let out a final sound before collapsing to the ground.
When the dust settled, everyone saw a massive, fist-sized hole in the side of the beast’s body.
Gasp!
Seeing that, the others gasped in surprise. Jeremy retreated to his previous position.
He had wanted to test the power of the Star Fist in a real battle, and he was happy with the results. He could kill a Tier-4 beast in one move. This attack could likely hurt a Tier-5 beast as well.
Jeremy didn’t have time to ponder. He faced the next group of lower-tier beasts. As time moved forward, he utilized the surging strength in his right arm.
As time passed, he found a way to control the surging strength, learning to kill the beasts with minimum force so that he didn’t have to use the starlight threads inside his mental zone as often.
On the other hand, the beast tamers were getting injured. The battle was starting to take its toll on them.
Their lifeline beasts were injured, and the beast tamers received the backlash. Not only that, but Tier-6 and Tier-7 beasts had started appearing.
As time passed, the burden on the frontline beast tamers increased. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Apart from the lower-tier beasts, they had to face attacks from Tier-5 beasts as well. Because of these Tier-5 sneak attacks, beast tamers had started dying.
Supervisor Jersey was busy.
He didn’t have time to look after the beast tamers because he was occupied dealing with more than one Tier-6 beast ahead of the frontline.
Not only he, but the other supervisors had also crossed the frontline to stop the Tier-6 beasts.
If even one Tier-6 beast entered the city, it would cause havoc. The situation was extremely tense.
Jeremy Night switched to his katana blade. The number of beasts he was facing was overwhelming, so he had to use the blade.
He continued to swing the katana at the corrupted beasts.
Each of his swings came with a precision strike. Whenever the blade made contact, it severed parts easily.
He stood in the middle of a pile of corpses. The beast tamers who were injured near him were replaced by others.
He didn’t let death befall them, helping others at critical moments.
He also took care of Catherine Rosewood and her family Beast Tamers; he didn’t know how many times he had saved her from Tier-5 Corrupted beasts.
Alarm!
Suddenly, his senses screamed at him. The feeling of danger was similar to that of a Tier-6 beast. However, he was sure the supervisors were already engaging the Tier-6 beasts up ahead.
Jeremy knew his instincts had always been right. He started using his eye power. He zoomed in and quickly caught sight of insect-type beasts.
He was shocked to the core. He could tell the supervisors were clueless about these insect-type beasts.
Jeremy had thought the insect beasts were targeting the supervisors, but he was wrong; they were looking at the frontline.
If the insect beasts launched an attack at the frontline, the casualty rate would be much higher.
It could be a one-sided slaughter. There wasn’t just one insect-type beast causing the problem, there seemed to be a whole group coming at them.
Jeremy used the starlight thread to cover his katana blade. He didn’t have any other choice; he had to face the insect-type beasts alone.
He wanted to alert the others, but he stopped at the last moment.
He didn’t want to cause chaos. If he told the others, there was a chance it would cause a disturbance in the ranks. Instead, he rushed forward alone.
Jeremy came into contact with the insect-type group. He slashed at the first beast, his blade edge coated with starlight power. The blade swept across the 2-meter-sized insect.
Slash!
The beast’s thick skull was strong. He felt a powerful impact force and withdrew the blade.
Jeremy retreated. He saw that the starlight blade had cracked the skin of the Tier-6 insect beast, but it was not enough. He needed to land more slashes.
"Be careful! The insect beasts are going to attack the frontline!" Supervisor Jersey shouted.
Gasp!
A huge commotion occurred on the battlefield.
The other supervisors noticed the insect beasts as well. Some moved to block them.
A few had escaped under their noses. One was blocked by Jeremy Night, but unfortunately, the others reached the frontline.
Puchak!
In a flash, the Tier-6 insect beasts cut through the frontline. Blood splattered across the ground. The bodies of the beast tamers and their lifeline beasts fell in different directions.
Jeremy Night watched this terrible scene, but he didn’t have time to waste. He used his second eye ability. His X-ray vision made the beast’s body transparent.
He charged toward the insect-type beast again. The Tier-6 insect beast was intelligent.
It was enraged by the earlier attack and would not give its enemy another chance.
Buzz!
The insect’s wings moved like blades. They could cleave the body of a Tier-6 Beast Tamer in two. Jeremy Night was only a Tier-3 Beast Tamer; he would die if the wings touched its body.
Jeremy Night’s eye power aided him.
Swoosh!
He avoided the wings, moving away at the right time. The insect beast missed its target, its wings cutting through empty air. The insect beast was enraged.
It missed striking the target again.
