5th Zone, Wilderness

Jeremy got closer to the enemy. Then, he took his handgun out and covered the ammunition with starlight power.

Bang! Bang!

He pulled the trigger. The bullets sped fast in a straight line.

Jeffery felt a sense of danger. If he didn't move away from the spot, he could die. He shifted his body at the last moment.

Swoosh!

The first bullet missed him and went past him. But the second bullet pierced through his hand.

Bang! Bang!

He didn't have time to relax. The bullets fired at him from behind.

Jeremy saw that the Tier-6 Beast Tamer could still evade the bullets. He needed to reduce the gap. He then tried to get closer.

In the blink of an eye, he closed the gap and fired the shots once again. This time, the enemy couldn't evade the bullets at close range.

Puchak!

Jeffery's body was drilled with bullet holes in a span of a couple of seconds. His body collapsed onto the ground.

Only then did Jeremy let go of his anxious heart. He then rushed to the side of the enemy. He saw that Jeffery was still breathing.

He crouched down and looked at him.

"Who told your organization to target me?"

"Who is the client?" Jeremy asked.

Jeffery was already scared. He revealed the name unconsciously. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Hill Family," Jeffery uttered before losing consciousness.

Hearing that, Jeremy got his confirmation. He was right from the beginning. The Hill Family was behind it. He then collected his thoughts and looked towards Jeffery.

Jeffery had lost most of his blood. He would bleed to death. After confirming that, Jeremy checked Jeffery's body and found a device.

He used Jeffery's fingerprint to unlock the device. He then began to go through it. He wanted to collect as much information as possible.

He saw photos and messages. He saw the faces of more members. If he came across these people again, he would remember them.

A few minutes later,

Jeffery died from blood loss. Jeremy memorized as much of the information as possible. He then put the device back on the body.

Jeremy then left the place. He thought that Jeffery's corpse would be eaten by the beasts. The earlier fight against the gorilla should have alerted others.

A few hours later,

Jeremy returned to the city. He found a cab driver and asked the person to drop him at the organization. The driver agreed.

20 minutes later,

He was standing in front of the organization. He paid the fare to the driver before going inside the building.

He saw members in the lobby. He then went to his room. After reaching the room, he entered and shut the door.

Then he went to sleep. He was totally tired.

The following day,

He woke up. He found out that he hadn't changed his clothes last night. After getting out of bed, he went to the bathroom first.

The bath lasted for 20 minutes.

He then walked out of the bathroom and began to get ready. He didn't start his practice right away. His mind was filled with too much information.

He needed a break. At the same time, he had to hand over the remains to Head Harold.

A few hours later,

He came to the head office. He asked for permission before walking inside the room.

He saw Head Harold was seated behind the desk.

"You are here. Sit down," Harold said.

Stephen had told him about the kid's arrival yesterday, so he was not surprised.

Jeremy sat on the chair opposite him. He waited for the Head to finish the report.

5 minutes later,

Head Harold completed reading the report. He then turned towards Jeremy Night. He knew the mission assigned to the kid.

More than that, he was worried about the kid's safety. He knew people went after the kid. Stephen's men went into the wilderness, but they returned empty-handed.

They had lost sight of Jeremy Night at that time. So did the people who went ahead at that time.

"How did the mission go, then?" Harold asked. He changed the topic. He thought it was better for the kid not to know about the investigation.

Jeremy heard the question. He then thought about it before taking out the wooden boxes one by one.

Head Harold was shocked and surprised. He stood up from his seat. In the blink of an eye, Jeremy placed more than 50 wooden boxes on the floor.

Harold's eyes turned solemn. His heart was boiling in anger. The Beast Tide had caused more casualties than ever.

He then opened one of the wooden boxes and saw a complete set of remains there. Then he closed the cover. He began to inspect all the remains one by one.

Jeremy Night stood there and watched quietly. He didn't know whether he could have dug up more remains, but he had done his best.

He had collected more remains than others; he was confident. Head Harold then informed the Elders. Their task was to identify the remains and hand them over to their families.

Shortly afterwards,

A few elders came with their staff. They saw the remains and they were shocked as well. Knowing that Jeremy Night did the job, they couldn't believe it.

The Beast Tide area saw the movement of Tier-5 beasts and above. That's why the other members found it hard to collect the remains. They didn't know how Jeremy had collected them.

The news spread like wildfire. It didn't take long for other members to learn the news.

They were shocked and happy that the remains were found. The news soon reached the ears of Melinda and other team members.

Melinda raised her eyebrows in surprise.

She didn't expect Jeremy Night to complete the mission. The other team members were there with her as well.

Freya said, "How did he do that?"

"I refuse to believe that he didn't have any help," she added.

Hearing that, others agreed. They knew Jeremy Night was a talented Beast Tamer, but this mission usually required team members.

Otherwise, they could face danger from the higher-tier corrupted beasts.

Melinda knew that Jeremy Night wouldn't lie, and Head Harold wouldn't be fooled. Since he released the news, then the news must be true.
