Chapter 805: Revised -805 Moon and Moon

Mortals instinctively wanted to worship, and even the world itself was responding. The wind stopped, the fog dispersed, and the eerie holy song sung in exotic languages intertwined with the ancient, primitive moon worship hymns. Even the ordinary people of Midshire Fort City could hear these two songs, but no one knew what they truly represented.

“What is going on?”

Above the city, the gigantic Undead Aggregation, hatched from the Interstice, surrounded by countless limbs, moved more and more slowly under the influence of the divine power until it curled up as if trying to retreat back into its cocoon. But the human Circle Sorcerers did not attack; they too instinctively suppressed their power and descended due to the appearance of the deity in the distant forest. Even though the deity had no intention towards Midshire Fort City, had not even cast a gaze its way, the divine power had already begun to affect this place.

The question came from Iluna; she rode on the floating Spirit Horse, looking up in astonishment at the two moons overhead. She did not even realize that she had instinctively lowered her voice, as if afraid of disturbing those even more terrifying existences.

“Godfall.”

Mr. Lacan Matthis of the Sun Church said with a trembling voice:

“Two deities have appeared at the foot of Sicarl Mountain.”

At this moment, whether it was witches, phoenixes, church ring sorcerers, or others, they all stopped their actions of attack. The light of the Silvermoon and the Crimson Moon shone upon their faces, and that tranquil light also fell upon the city below them.

The tumultuous Sicarl-Midshire Fort Area actually restored peace at this moment. Nothing else mattered. The mountains were bathed in moonlight, the red and silver moonlight illuminating countless faces of panic and fear. Even a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer would not have expected the descent of two deities on Sicarl Mountain without any warning.

“What in the world…”

“The Thorn Nun of the Church of Nature…”

“It’s too late… Why do the deities descend now? Could it be that Midshire Fort City…”

“If the Crimson Moon is the Vampire God, then that Silvermoon is…”

“The God Summoner has once again…”

“Lower your heads! Everyone, lower your heads, do not look…”

It seemed as though all sound completely vanished at this moment, only the starry sky above the thick white fog remained so profound and enchanting.

People did not initially realize what they were paying attention to, until they discovered they could not speak, move, think, or even realize what they were doing.

The light, the scarlet and silver light, slowly rose from the foot of Sicarl Mountain. But upon closer inspection, it was not light rising, but two moons.

Yes, the Crimson Moon and the Holy Silver Moon slowly rose from beneath Sicarl Mountain, yet their speed seemed to completely surpass light.

The two moons collided fiercely in silence under the night sky, amidst the intertwining holy songs, until they had both ascended to the summit of Sicarl Mountain.

The starry sky dimmed, and even the fire of civilization gradually dimmed.

Crack!

With the sound of shattering glass, the two moons at the summit of Sicarl Mountain completely collided. Space shattered, the earth upheaved, and the light at that moment even solidified Space-Time.

Above Midshire Fort City, almost everyone covered their eyes and ears. But the collision between the gods appeared clearly in their “eyes.”

Only after the two moons parted again did the terrifying pressure still linger, but those whose thoughts had been frozen at least became aware that they were bleeding from their noses and mouths.

The fact that they stayed suspended in the air without falling was purely because everything had been frozen in place just now.

“What on earth is happening?”

Iluna clutched her Balance, using the power of the Ancient God to protect herself, her eyes fixed intently on the Silvermoon:

“The deities do not seem to have come for the Interstice or Midshire Fort City? What are these two Great Ones fighting for?”

But no one could answer her question now, for except for herself and Sister Delphine holding the black scythe, no one could directly face the gods’ battle without paying a price.

“This is like the time in summer…”

The scene before her instantly brought Iluna’s thoughts back to a summer night in Tobesk. That Holy Silver Moon gave her a very bad feeling, her eyes widened slightly. The left eye constructed by divinity fixed on the silver moon, while normal right eye streamed with blood tears, her expression turning panicked instantly:

“Could that be…”

“Child of the Moon, why do you vie with me for the Red Butterflies?”

Above Sicarl Mountain, the light of the Red Moon poured down like a torrent, striking Shard, who was clad in a silver-white robe. The newly born Deity did not dodge. The cards of [Impermanence: Silver Moon], [Impermanence: Balance], [Impermanence: Darkness], and [Impermanence: Death] rotated evenly around the God, emanating a golden glimmer:

“God of the Vampire Kind, we both cherish those two Red Butterflies. You want to use them to brew Blood Wine, but I desire their companionship, so you cannot take them… Darkness, devour that Moon.”

He pointed his finger forward, lightly touching the [Impermanence: Darkness] card as it rotated before him. The spinning card halted, and for an instant, it felt as if someone had extinguished the lights of the world. Deep darkness engulfed everything, and then the world lit up again. At that moment, a rift appeared in the Blood Moon in the starry sky, gradually widening as it was slowly consumed by the darkness.

Yet the silver moonlight continued to beam down, just as it had for millennia.

“Child of the Moon, do you pity those two mortal women?”

The power of the Ancient God [Crawling Darkness] suppressed the Red Moon’s brilliance, but the God of the Vampire Race did not weaken; instead, it seemed to grow stronger:

“But I am the Protector of the Vampire Kind, the Protector of the Night Walkers!”

A loud hymn resonated, and boundless shadows flew out from beneath the Blood God’s feet. The Deity’s form was that of a handsome middle-aged Earl, but that was merely an illusion to mortal eyes. At this moment, the terrifying true form of the Vampire Duke, cast from a higher dimension, was reaching out toward Shard.

Shard lightly touched the [Impermanence: Death] card that had rotated before him:

“All things must face Ultimate Death, but the fate of the Red Butterflies will not end here; this I guarantee.”

Specks of silver moonlight appeared around him, and the God grasped the black scythe. The scythe silently swept forward, the force of Ultimate Death destroying the might of the Blood God.

Even the Evil God did not dare touch the decaying light of the Ancient God, retreating awkwardly to a lower position, as the power of the Ancient God of Death suppressed the power of the Night.

“Child of the Moon, why so stubborn? The Red Moon and Silvermoon are one; why not share the Red Butterflies with me?”

“Because they are mine.”

The final card to rotate before him was [Impermanence: Silver Moon]. The God gazed at the image on the card of a lady sitting on a high stool, holding the Moon amidst thin veils and curtains:

“God of the Vampire Race, you and I both possess the great power of the Moon. Let us have one final duel. Regardless of the outcome, I will not seek revenge on your Favored Ones, and you shall not disturb my life in the Mortal World.”

“Child of the Moon, let me witness how you understand the flawless Moon.”

Shard ascended to the starry sky, while the Blood God plummeted to the summit of Sicarl Mountain.

The two gazed at each other from afar, Shard suspended in the air with arms outstretched, his body seeming to dissolve into the Silvermoon. The Blood God, laughing maniacally, transformed into a crimson beam of light, resembling a massive blood bat in its final resistance.

With a light touch of [Impermanence: Silver Moon], the cold, serene power permeated the God’s form. In a trance, Shard once again stood on the field ridge in the boundless expanse of his dreams, once again beholding the seemingly reachable silver Moon.

The Star Ocean inverted, and the Silvermoon stretched across the sky. The God’s form perfectly merged with the Silvermoon, as if He was that very Moonlight.

Under the reluctant gaze of everyone in Midshire Fort City, as the tranquil silver radiance bathed the Earth, as all the glimmers of the Star Ocean converged into a single point, a flawless brilliant light was unleashed. At the summit of Sicarl Mountain, the Saint standing on the Earth transformed his body into a beam of blood rushing skyward.

Silver light and crimson radiance met silently at the peak of Sicarl Mountain, the power of the Silvermoon crushing the crimson light, then striking the volcanic crater with force. In the area where the Summit Lake had long evaporated, a deep fissure resembling a path to the abyss was left.

Fragments of silver light swept across the starry sky, and as the light’s ripples faded, even the white mist in the Interstice thinned. The starry sky finally unveiled itself above Midshire Fort City, with the Star Ocean appearing as splendid and dreamlike as ever.

The God of the Vampire Race was nowhere to be seen, leaving only the God in a silver robe standing in midair, gazing up at the freely swimming Star Ocean Whales, then looking down at the path connecting to the depths of the summit, linking the Interstice and Death:

“It is time for everything to end.”

Compared to his battle with the Lord of the Blood Feast in Tobesk, Shard could now better control the power of Divinity. Having defeated the Vampire Duke Lowell, the divine radiance had not yet dissipated, allowing him to accomplish more tasks.

At this moment, he could eliminate the gigantic Amputee Undead Behemoth above the city with a mere thought, but he desired to end everything comprehensively and thoroughly solve Midshire Fort City’s significant troubles:

“Fortunately, Witch Empress Violetta Marshall of the Fifth Era has already devised the correct approach—stabilize the connecting passages to outer space, splice True Death, guide thousands of souls into the material world, and finally lead them to the newly opened passage.”

Bathing in the light of the Silvermoon, he gazed at the whales swimming in the brilliant Star Ocean of late autumn. Neither the chaotic battles above the city nor the brief skirmish between gods seemed to disturb these half-material Star Beasts.

Groups of translucent blue Star Ocean Whales freely roamed the deep night sky, like a dark blue canvas adorned with shining brushstrokes. Behind them lay the vast rift connecting outer space, and ahead of them had already appeared the passage they needed to leave.
