No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 649 - 647 Stirring up Trouble Again [4 more updates]
Liam Spencer did not intend to hide Lillian Morris’s return from Maya Spencer.
So, when Maya placed the soup in front of him, he turned his head to glance at her and calmly said, "Maya, Lillian is back."
Maya didn’t expect Liam to be so straightforward and tell her about this so suddenly. The piece of rib she just picked up nearly slipped from her grip, but fortunately, she held her calm and didn’t let it drop. She casually placed the rib in her mouth, then turned to Liam, and with an indifferent "Oh!" proceeded to chew on the rib, spitting the small bone onto the plate. Then, she picked up another piece.
Her attitude seemed as if she was not familiar with Lillian, merely a stranger; his return didn’t affect her at all.
Liam observed Maya’s composed demeanor, watching her eat the meat as if nothing had happened, and felt the urge to laugh.
He couldn’t tell what her emotions were at the moment, whether she was excited or not; her indifference had already proved that she cared about him. Even if her calmness was an act, it was because she cared about him and didn’t want to make him uncomfortable, that’s why she was so indifferent to this matter.
Thus, Liam reached out with his right hand, gently caressed Maya’s cheek, and said, "Maya, you’re so good!"
Upon hearing Liam’s words, Maya slowly turned her head and looked at him seriously, promising, "Third Brother, from now on I will always be good, always listen to you."
She was reassuring Liam, making him believe in her, not letting Lillian’s return affect their relationship.
She admitted that until this moment, she hadn’t completely forgotten Lillian, but she clearly understood that she was grateful to Lillian, grateful that he helped her when she needed it most, grateful that he once saved her life.
It was only after falling in love with Liam that Maya realized she felt gratitude and admiration towards Lillian; but with Liam, it was love. Only with love does one constantly think about being together with someone, wanting to spend a lifetime with them.
However, she never had such feelings towards Lillian, never wanted to be with him, never imagined a future with him.
But she did with Liam; not only did she want to be with him, she even wanted to have children with him, many, many children...
Liam listened to Maya’s promise and gently rubbed her cheek with his large hand, saying, "Silly girl, are you silly?"
"Not silly!" Maya replied, giggling while pinching his wrist.
Maya thought Lillian’s return would trigger a storm, fearing that her relationship with Liam might collapse again. But unexpectedly, Liam wasn’t suspicious or distant because of Lillian’s return, nor was there any anger in his eyes.
So, she knew Liam didn’t plan to compete with Lillian; he was already over her past.
Maya looked at the man’s gentle gaze, her eyes involuntarily reddened, not knowing what to say, thus she grabbed the chopsticks and continuously picked food for Liam.
"Haha..." Liam couldn’t help but laugh again at the sight of her.
Liam saw her smile at him, gently tapping his bowl with her chopsticks as she commanded, "Third Brother, you must eat all of this, eat it all, so we have the energy to strive harder and have a baby sooner."
"Little rascal, stirring things up again." Liam pinched her nose, feeling totally relaxed inside.
At this moment, he realized that his worries today were unnecessary; Maya only loved him, consistently thinking about having his children!
Liam’s early report and Maya’s promise ultimately quelled the fear within the family, preventing this storm from arriving.
Actually, it was because they cared for each other and protected each other that when obstacles arose between them, they considered each other’s feelings, thus quelling this war in its infancy.
After discovering Lillian’s return, their lives continued as usual, unaffected by him. But Lillian intentionally contradicted Liam, constantly getting in his way at work. Liam tolerated it, curious to see how long Lillian could carry on without his engagement.
A week later, everyone gathered at the bar.
Maya and Ella Turner sat on the sofa scrolling through their phones, discussing Seven Murray Company’s fall collection, planning to snatch them up before the new releases.
The men were sitting aside, discussing work matters.
Soon, Sophia Bennett arrived, sat beside Maya, listlessly holding her, repeatedly glancing at the entrance, waiting for Christopher Scott’s arrival.
"Third Brother, is Lillian on medication or something? Why did he start opposing the Owen Clan as soon as he came back? Last time he snatched that land in W City, and now he’s doing something about product introduction; what exactly is he trying to do?" Hudson Moore couldn’t swallow his frustration.
The most vexing thing for him was Lillian causing such a commotion, yet Third Brother showed no reaction, which was completely unlike him.
The six brothers, not one of them knew about Maya’s crush on Lillian, hence they couldn’t deduce the reason.
Nearby, upon hearing Hudson’s words, Maya was stunned. She never expected Lillian to target Liam first, and Liam didn’t respond.
Maya took a deep breath, losing interest in the clothing discussion, instead listening intently to Liam and their conversations.
She heard Liam say, "Really? If he wants it, give it to him."
Liam’s calm left everyone puzzled, unsure of his intentions; but since Liam had spoken, none of them would act on their own.
Ella, next to Maya, gently pinched her, reminding her not to eavesdrop.
Ella had heard the news of Lillian’s return from Elijah Reed a few days earlier and was forbidden by him to stir any trouble.
Ella swore firmly, standing firmly with Maya and Liam as a couple, never again harboring other intentions or luring Maya away.
Elijah listened to Ella’s vow and finally released her, not holding her accountable for her actions two years ago.
Maya saw Ella push her, turned her head to glance at her, stretched out a small hand to pat Ella’s hand, indicating she knew.
However, Sophia was still hugging Maya cluelessly, knowing nothing, with only Christopher in her thoughts.
Yet Maya fell into contemplation, unable to determine Lillian’s intentions. Was he trying to fight fire with fire, or was he determined to clash with Liam?
Morris Clan Group had been doing well these past years, Maya knew; but if the two of them fought, it would likely end in mutual destruction.
Maya didn’t want Liam to deal with Lillian, nor did she want Lillian to bother Liam; she only sought a peaceful life.
Maya felt it necessary to talk to Lillian about letting go of past events, or it would do no good to anyone.
Lillian wasn’t petty, yet he wasn’t weak either. Liam’s past actions against Morris Clan, Lillian would somewhat retaliate, otherwise he’d become more arrogant later.
At the same time, it was also a demonstration to Liam that the current Morris Clan was not what it used to be; subconsciously, it was a declaration of war to Liam, determined to bring Maya back.
