Chapter 86: I will deal with you

"How loonnng?" Amanda asked in a drawn-out voice, her impatience clear.

"Calm down, lady. I am not a natural beauty like you, so I need a little touch-up," Hannah replied, standing in front of the mirror as she applied her lipstick.

Amanda groaned. "But he must be waiting for me. Kyle..."

Hannah grinned. "You are not even trying to hide it anymore. You two are now back together, are you not you?"

Amanda nodded happily. "Yes. Of course. Absolutely." She hummed with delight.

Hannah had missed this version of Amanda for far too long. The one who spoke her heart without hesitation, who did not see everything through a negative lens, and whose presence alone filled the space with warmth and hope.

Not wanting to make her wait any longer, Hannah finished her makeup and asked, "How do I look?"

Amanda hummed. "Maybe it is about time you knock a few men down and pick one."

Hannah gave a wry smile. "I am not into that whole love at first sight thing. And I am not really interested in dating right now."

Amanda’s smile only brightened. "You will not know until you try at least once."

Hannah rolled her eyes, then urged, "Come on, let’s go."

The two of them left the room and walked down the lobby. The chatter from the main hall was already spilling out toward them.

As they entered, Amanda and Hannah naturally drew attention. Amanda especially stood out, dressed in a black bodycon that reached her knees and hugged her curves in a bold yet elegant way. Her midnight hair fell freely over her shoulders, enhancing her natural beauty. Those clear blue eyes, paired with her small, doll-like face, made her the kind of person people glanced at more than once.

However, Amanda paid no attention to those gazes. Among all the students, she saw only one person. The one man whose attention, whose words, truly mattered to her.

"There he is," Hannah said, already aware of where those oceanic eyes were searching.

Amanda followed her line of sight, and there he was... standing alone in a corner, focused on his phone.

"Haah..." Amanda placed a hand over her heart as it began to beat wildly at the mere sight of him.

She knew exactly what he was doing. He knew how she reacted when he dressed in formals, especially in black.

What was this? An attempt to make her fall even harder for him? But she was already neck-deep in his love. Did he want her to drown in it? Nngh... she could barely handle it.

"Are you really going to admire him from afar? Look, there are girls checking him out," Hannah said, popping the little bubble Amanda had drifted into.

Amanda’s gaze sharpened as she glanced to the side. And sure enough, a few girls were eyeing Kyle.

That would not do. Not at all.

She took a steady breath and started walking toward him.

Yes, she knew he had asked her to keep their relationship discreet for now. But she had never been good at following rules, especially when it came to Kyle.

Eyes followed her as she moved, many already guessing exactly where she was headed.

What everyone was truly waiting for was Kyle’s reaction. It was common gossip across the university that the two had broken up for certain reasons.

"Kyle," Amanda called as she reached him.

Kyle slowly lifted his gaze and looked at her.

"You look beautiful," he said, unable to stop himself as he reached up and gently tucked a few loose strands of hair behind her ear.

Heat rushed to her face, a natural blush blooming across her cheeks at the simple gesture.

Even though he wanted to remain discreet, Kyle could not hold himself back, not even with everyone watching.

Amanda cast a sharp glance toward the girls at the side, only to find them already looking away, their interest gone.

Amanda smirked inwardly.

Kyle then asked, "Did you eat something? I think this might take a while."

Amanda nodded. "Just a light snack. I could not eat much since this dress does not forgive," she said, glancing down at her stomach.

Even the slightest bump would show through the fabric. So yes, she had been careful.

Kyle chuckled. "Then I guess I cannot ask you out for dinner after this?"

Amanda flinched. Dinner... with Kyle? Was she really about to miss that chance?

She looked up at him. "Would you mind seeing a little bump here?" she asked, taking his hand and pressing it gently against her stomach.

This endearing girl was truly testing how long he could hold himself back from pulling her into a breathless hug.

Shaking his head, he said, "You are beautiful in every shape and form. So stop worrying about such trivial things, alright?"

Amanda’s eyes curved softly as she nodded. "Mm."

Not long after, the students were directed to another area.

It was a conference room with a stage set up at the front.

Chairs were arranged neatly across the hall, with tables holding water bottles and small flower vases.

Since seating was limited, Amanda and Kyle had to share a table with others.

"Ah... you are back." Thankfully, it was someone Kyle recognized.

"K-Kyle... you know her? Is she your friend?" Amanda asked, a hint of panic slipping into her voice as she noticed the beautiful pink-haired girl.

Kyle shook his head helplessly. "I know the guy holding her hand, Amanda."

At that, Nathan raised his hand awkwardly.

As expected, his presence barely registered for Amanda.

"Oh... you are Jeromy, right?" she said, getting his name wrong again.

"It is Nathan. Hi," he corrected gently before taking a seat across from them.

There was one more seat vacant, and it did not stay that way for long.

"Hey, there. Aren’t you being rude, avoiding me like this?"

The newcomer was muscular, his tight shirt outlining the build he had clearly worked for. With his flashy red hair, he stood out easily in any crowd.

His arrival made Terry flinch, while Nathan visibly stiffened.

Kyle noticed it at once. He already knew this was the same guy who had been bothering Terry for a while.

He exchanged a brief glance with Nathan but said nothing. His stance was clear. He would not interfere. This was Nathan’s fight.

Amanda, on the other hand, seemed completely unbothered. She was far too absorbed in Kyle’s eyes to care about anything happening around her.

Then the redhead spoke again. "How about we grab dinner after this, Terry? For old times’ sake?"

The pink-haired girl clenched her fists. "We just went to the same school. Don’t twist it into something else, Drake."

Drake chuckled. "And what exactly am I twisting it into?"

Nathan clicked his tongue. "Can’t you see she’s uncomfortable talking to you?"

Drake raised a brow in mock surprise. "Oh? The mule can speak too?" His gaze swept around before settling on Kyle. "Ah, I get it. It’s because of that guy. You really think he can save you if I decide to beat you?"

Leaning slightly toward Kyle, Drake smirked. "Are you going to def—"

"Tch. Move aside, you chimpanzee."

Amanda snapped, shoving his elbow off the table. The sudden force made Drake’s face slam against the corner.

"Gaah! Fuck! Do you have a death wish?!" Drake barked, enraged as blood began to drip from his nose.

Amanda looked at him coldly. "Do not get in my way."

Drake’s jaw tightened as he turned his gaze toward Nathan.

’I will deal with him when he is alone.’
