Starting With SSS-rank: I Get A New Skill Every Livestream-Chapter 23: Analyze and vulnerable
[Daily Quest:
Push-ups: 30/30
Run: 3/3 km
Pull-ups: 30/30]
[Congratulations, Host. You have gained: Recovery Potion x1.]
[Recovery Potion: A mythical liquid that eases muscle tension and accelerates recovery.]
Kyle raised his hand. Resting on his palm was a small vial, no bigger than his little finger, filled with a faint green liquid.
’Didn’t expect this.’
He had assumed the system was merely pushing him to get back into shape. He hadn’t imagined there would be rewards as well.
[Ding!]
[A quest has been generated.]
[Quest: Maintain a five-day streak of daily quest completion.]
[Reward: Mid-Rank Healing Potion, Camouflage Potion]
Kyle hummed in surprise. ’Why so benevolent, System? I won’t deny it, but is this just to keep me motivated?’
[Indeed, Host.]
A simple, direct answer.
It was only natural. Someone who had neglected a healthy life for nearly three years was bound to lose momentum after a few days.
But now, with this quest before him, he would have a reason to keep going every single day.
"Well, let’s see." He uncorked the vial and downed the potion in one smooth gulp.
It carried a minty flavor, mildly sweet and surprisingly refreshing. Yet it wasn’t the taste that captured his focus. A cool relief spread through his body, washing over him in waves.
It felt as though he had soaked in a warm bath while skilled hands worked the stiffness from his muscles.
’This is insane.’
A bright smile curved his lips as he jumped up and completed another pull-up.
He was at the community park, where metal ladders and small rides for children stood under the open sky.
He disliked going to the gym, so he planned to install a pull-up bar at home within the next few days.
’In a few days, huh?’ Kyle smiled as he dropped back to the ground. He was settling into this new life faster than he had expected.
When he first received these powers, he could not find a reason to use them. Now, he was simply moving forward, adapting without resistance.
’But now I have a concrete reason to become stronger.’
His family.
Someone had already targeted his brother. If his entire family was tangled in this mess, then sooner or later, trouble would come knocking at their door.
He was no hero, nor could he imagine himself reaching Layena’s level anytime soon. Still, he could try. Perhaps one day, when he had grown stronger and crafted a believable story behind these powers, he would tell his parents the truth.
For now, he would wear the mask, pull up the hood, and move in silence.
His steps carried him toward the train station once more. This time, he had no intention of wandering through dark alleys. Today, his purpose was different.
He wanted to grow accustomed to God’s Eye. According to the system, a moving train packed with people would be the ideal testing ground.
After all, Genesis was produced by every human. When gathered in large numbers, it released a dense surge of energy, strong enough to single Kyle out if he was not careful.
So yes, he knew what he had to do.
Silently, he stepped into the station.
It was early evening, and office workers crowded the platforms, most of them heading home after a long day. The air buzzed with tired conversations and the shuffle of hurried feet.
Wearing a mask did not make him stand out. Many others wore one as well.
There had been constant reports about a certain airborne virus spreading across the city. People had grown cautious, and masks had become common.
After buying his ticket, he boarded the already packed train.
Fortunately, he managed to find a seat near the glass divider.
He sat down, lowered his head, and crossed his arms.
His eyes moved subtly, scanning his surroundings to see if anyone was watching him or if he recognized a familiar face.
For a brief moment, he felt as though someone was watching him. The thought lingered, then faded when he noticed the person smiling at someone seated beside him.
He took a slow breath and asked inwardly, ’So now, how do I use it?’
A translucent screen flickered to life before his eyes.
[Simply state what you wish to use God’s Eye for. The system will adjust its intensity accordingly.]
Kyle hummed softly and shifted his gaze to the person sitting across from him.
A chubby boy with a faint beard, thick glasses, and a phone clutched in his hand.
’Alright. Analyze him.’
A slight burn stirred in his eyes, but it was nothing compared to the strain he had felt when using it by himself.
Instantly, his vision shifted.
It was as if a transparent grid passed over the boy’s body. His facial muscles, micro-expressions, even the direction of his pupils were magnified. Kyle’s sight zoomed into the reflection in the boy’s glasses. A comic panel flickered across the lenses.
The scan deepened. Breathing rhythm. Pulse irregularities. Subtle tension in the jaw.
Then a graph materialized before him.
[Age: Approximately 23
Current Condition: Stressed and excited
Body Condition: Very poor—Elevated sympathetic nervous activity likely, obesity, nasal blockage, probable sleep deprivation, minor anxiety disorder suspected
Posture: Poor—Muscle imbalance, weak joints
Currently Reading: Greyman Returns.]
[For deeper inspection, the host must obtain a blood sample or other bodily fluid.]
Kyle stiffened.
All of that... from a single glance?
His throat went dry.
He had not touched the boy. Had not spoken to him. Had barely looked for more than two seconds.
Yet the system had peeled him apart layer by layer.
Just by looking, he could see this much.
[If the subject is moving or actively engaged in physical or mental activity, the inspection will deepen.]
Kyle hummed. ’So I can observe muscle contraction and expansion... and God’s Eye slows time as well. That means I can’t get hit, right?’
[Indeed, Host. However, there is a limit to how much you can slow the target at your current level of God’s Eye.]
[Your current Speed is 4. God’s Eye reduces the target’s effective speed to one-tenth. However, if their original Speed exceeds 90, their reduced Speed will still remain above 8, which surpasses the Host’s current perceptual threshold. In that case, the Host remains vulnerable. Not to talk about the host reflexes. You can see the danger incoming but what would be the point if the host couldn’t dodge it?]
Kyle fell silent.
So even if he slowed someone down tenfold, a truly fast opponent would still move beyond what he could react to.
In simple terms, if he did not increase his own speed soon, he would be dead against a high-speed enemy.
Got it.
