Chapter 1470: Low Profile Doesn’t Work Either (II)

The two returned to the warship.

“Is there something special about Silver Moon...” the Pagoda King suddenly transmitted to Celestial Pole. “The Sword Sovereign sits in residence, Zhang An is also there. Supreme Yuan was once there as well! These are all people close to the Human King and supreme...”

These people possessed extraordinary identities, to say nothing of anything else. There was also the Capsize Sea, the direct lineal descendent of the water cow family, and some other exalted emperor descendants among them.

New Martial had set out to locate Silver Moon as soon as it reappeared again. All of this combined led the Pagoda King to the conclusion that there was something quite special about the place. Additionally, what was Celestial Pole’s mission, given that his replica was stationed there for so many years?

“I’m there to resurrect Number Two!” Celestial Pole outright responded via transmission.

The Pagoda King raised a slight eyebrow. Revive Number Two? He wasn’t familiar with this goal, but it was to be expected. Even the Ash Emperor had mentioned the other cat with nostalgia a few times.

There’d been more than one cat in the dimension that the War Sovereign had been in, there’d also been Number Three.

However, the Ash Emperor missed Number Two the most. It didn’t think of Number Three often.

“With your replica’s personality, it’s no surprise that it survived all these years.” Countless thoughts swirled in the king’s mind. “It’s also very likely that there’s a new exalted emperor and king in the world if it has emerged from the chaos deflection barrier and opened the Star Gate.

“It has been but fifty years in the outside world. No matter what the rate of time was within the world, no matter how big the time differential, the cultivation effect of an isolated Silver Moon can only amount to fifty some years in the outside world!

“Five decades to give rise to a new emperor, a new king... Does the senior think there is anything special about this king?”

If it was just an exalted emperor, New Martial didn’t lack for those. What was critical was if there was anything special about this new king. Otherwise, what was an exalted emperor of a minor world worth?

Even the Pagoda King wouldn’t fear such a character.

“There must be something special about him!” determined Celestial Pole, despite not knowing anything. “Not only is he special, but he must be easygoing as well and not bear too much enmity toward New Martial. Otherwise, how would my replica survive till present day?

“We can only say that not enough time has elapsed since the formation of the world. They’ve opened the Star Gate and joined the chaos, but the world’s foundation is so poor that I’m worried he’s too weak. Red Moon and New Martial are engaged in battle. The new king seems to be headed in the direction of the legendary Skyward major world!”

It was too disorderly over there!

Not only did pandemonium reign, the key was that Skyward-associated powerhouses were a bunch of bandits and robbers. While the pot shouldn’t call the kettle black, it was true that none of them were anything good.

They were more terrifying than locusts when they glimpsed an opportunity! Skyward was a den of thieves!

It would be enormous trouble once the new Silver Moon king entered that area. Most importantly was that once his identity and connection to New Martial was revealed, he would be in perilous danger!

“So does that mean to say that if this person has inherited the slightest bit of New Martial bearing, he might very well head to Skyward,” transmitted the Pagoda King. “And he’ll create a fuss in Skyward while he’s at it?”

“Yes!”

The two looked at each other helplessly. Indeed, if the new king had learned anything from New Martial, he might head to Skyward major world after becoming part of the chaos again. It was inevitable then that he would stir up a massive commotion.

Even if the two of them survived the hazardous journey, they might find it hard to extract themselves after they arrived at Skyward. How tragic their future was!

And yet, the two didn’t dare not make the trip, despite knowing full well what laid ahead. They could only pray that the new king of Silver Moon was similar to the Human King—completely hopeless at direction and prone to getting lost in the chaos.

Please don’t let him head straight for Skyward!

They were sometimes envious of this habit of the Human King. He could take a stroll anywhere, it didn’t matter if he got lost. He was strong enough that he didn’t fear anything. Everywhere he went was an opportunity, what was he afraid of?

The duo fervently hoped that the new king wasn’t like the Human King—a source of trouble everywhere he went. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to weather the situation they found, despite being a second and third rank!

“It’s alright, it’ll take another year or two to get there...” Celestial Pole comforted himself. It was still early. The longer they could drag this out, the better.

Silver Moon should keep moving. The further you go, the further I chase. The slower we meet, the better.

......

Li Hao was already aware that two New Martial exalted emperors had set out to locate Silver Moon. His thoughts were to convene with them as soon as possible, for none other reason that they were in danger.

They were here in search of Silver Moon—wouldn’t it be a shame if they died along the day?

The young man felt a bit of urgency for once. He hadn’t been in a rush when he walked out of Silver Moon, thinking that he could take it slow. Cultivation was not something to be rushed through.

He didn’t like to plunder or pillage. He was indifferent to such ways before, but had now discovered that as fast as looting was, it wasn’t as fast as comprehending dao. One saw short term effect, the other saw long term results.

Right now, Li Hao was debating if he should utilize both ways?

He wasn’t opposed to the notion of killing and raiding since he’d already killed a great deal of people. Would he mind killing a few more?

Take that Suncloud exalted emperor, for example. He was the one who came to me to cause trouble and we were enemies to begin with. Someone like that can be outright killed. That saves me future trouble.

“Big Claw, are there only three public sites of dao foundation in Dragon Observatory Region?”

“Yes!” Big Claw nodded. “Dragon Observatory owns the largest region in the south. Counting the Observatory itself makes for four foundation sites. That’s a lot as the other nine regions usually have only one each that are occupied by various factions. There are thirteen sites total in the southern region!

“There are roughly fifty sites in all of Skyward. Not all of them are the work of a high rank exalted emperor. There weren’t that many to begin with as Skyward didn’t possess many high rank exalted emperors in its heyday!

“Many of the dao foundation sites are the work of mid rank exalted emperors...”

There’s roughly fifty. If I gain something from all of them like I did this time... and can listen to the lectures of dozens of exalted emperors... I’ll make out like a bandit from this trip!

Of course, many of them were controlled by other factions. The three that belonged to Dragon Observatory were public only because the echoes of dao had nearly dissipated. This was a friendly gesture to external exalted emperors; it staved off a massive conflict of interest.

“Ah, do you know where the third rank Suncloud exalted emperor is?”

“......” Big Claw shook inwardly. He kept his expression composed. “I know a little... He is in talks with a mid fourth rank exalted emperor. I do not know what they discuss, but it might have something to do with New Martial!”

“Can you bring him out for a meeting? It’s best if it’s outside Skyward.”

Shit! Are you preparing to kill him?? That’s terrifying! That’s a third rank exalted emperor! My guess about your strength can’t be right, can it?

Big Claw’s head ached and he quickly transmitted, “Senior, a third rank exalted emperor is a sizable target that everyone will have their eyes on...”

In other words, he hoped to decrease the amount of trouble on their hands. This was such a headache!

Li Hao mulled over his guide’s words. That was right, third ranks were hard enough that he needed help from Panther and the others. It would create a bigger disturbance, so it was better to consider how to ascend to second rank first.

He actually did have some thoughts regarding this matter. With life and death as the focus and the myriad of daos as supplemental, he needed to fulfill some more requirements before he could break through to second rank.

Those conditions weren’t too hard to attain—he needed a large quantity of life and death qi, as well as dao crystals.

Qi of life and death was easy to obtain as he just needed to kill a few more exalted emperors to collect death qi. Normally speaking, he wouldn’t have to do so. Exalted emperors would go extinct if he had to kill them for each level of progress. It was simply the best way to do so if he wished to cultivate faster.

The amount of dao crystals resulting from the death of one exalted emperor was too little. Although he needed to kill more, he needed to pick his targets carefully. They either had to be evildoers or rivals. The one from Suncloud was an acceptable target, as were the exalted emperors from Utmost Dark and Elysian Fields.

Li Hao had to admit that New Martial’s enemies were his enemies. They wouldn’t care if Silver Moon was of one heart with New Martial when they sought their revenge! Even Red Moon had placed a high bounty on Silver Moon!

“Are there exalted emperors from Utmost Dark and Elysian Fields around here?”

Big Claw’s heart quailed again! What now? Was his guest... possibly the New Martial Human King?! If he was... 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Big Claw wanted to pee himself from the implications.

Why else would he be asking about those two major worlds though?

“Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with you. You’re just an Empyrean King!” Li Hao transmitted.

Big Claw really did want to burst into tears now. Shit! This person really is from New Martial!

He knew that for no reason other than the cultivation level moniker that his guest had just used. Names were a motley assortment for all levels under exalted emperor. Only New Martial called the one below ‘Empyrean King’. Each world had their own term. Although they were communicating via the mind, the meaning of the word was apparent.

Empyrean King! That was not his level according to the Skyward hierarchy! Shit and damnation! He was in trouble now!

Big Claw was truly shellshocked. If the person in front of him was the New Martial Human King... that was a premier seventh rank powerhouse! He could be an eighth rank if he combined with the Ash Emperor!

A major world would have to send over three to five powerhouses in order to possibly triumph over such a premier exalted emperor! But there wasn’t a single seventh rank to be found in all of Skyward!

“The senior speaks truly.” Big Claw stretched his lips in a smile that was uglier than tears. “Big Claw understands and will not run my mouth!”

Li Hao had cowed him again and again. Big Claw understood that he was alive simply because he could still be useful. Otherwise, a cultivator beneath exalted emperor could be blown to death by a single exhale from this person!
