Chapter 210: Demonic Energy

Roy was stunned when he saw his sword didn’t hit Aren. He looked at him with fear and confusion, and Aren simply shrugged like he didn’t do anything.

Roy gritted his teeth. "Arghhhhh." He roared as he pulled the blade out and backward, his eyes burning with determination and rage, all locked on Aren, who stood right in front of him.

"Arghhhhhhhhh." His voice thundered like it would shatter everything that was around. He slashed with everything that he had, his hands moving like a whip.

This time, Aren didn’t use shadow form. He simply stood and then unleashed a punch with his hand covered in the gauntlet, and it collided with the sword.

BOOM

The collision shook the air, and Roy was blasted backward. He slammed hard into the wall again. Aren looked at him with a pitiful look. "Stay down. There is no point in fighting me. You can’t win," Aren stated, but Roy was adamant about fighting.

"Screw you." He growled. He stabbed his sword into the ground and then rose to his feet, his eyes glowed purple, but then something formed on his head, a purple mark that looked like two curved horns and a dot in the center.

As this mark formed, his energy suddenly changed. It became far more sinister and evil, no longer the normal soul energy. His strength grew rapidly.

He gripped his sword and the energy transferred through it, reaching the tip of the sword in an instant. The air was shaking, everything around them trembled. The others that were sitting were forced to stand and put some distance to avoid whatever it was that Roy was doing.

"Hahahaha, let’s see how you stand against me now." Roy bellowed. He gripped his sword with both hands, energy exploded from him like a wave.

’What the hell is this energy? This isn’t divine or soul energy. It’s completely dark. This is the first time I’m facing something like this,’ Aren thought as he looked at Roy. Then a smile formed on his lips. "I have to admit, I’m excited," he muttered.

"Since you have decided to fight me all out, I believe it would only make sense if I at least got serious." Aren stated. He got into a stance, his soul energy surging like a wave. To both of them, it was a raging dragon versus a massive wave. Which force of nature would be victorious?

BOOM!

Roy blasted forward, his speed, which was already insane, rapidly increased. He slashed down, his blade coated with this dark energy, which meant Aren could not just use shadow form.

"Hmmm."

Aren stepped back and then blocked the attack with his hands over his head.

BOOM

The ground beneath cracked instantly, but Aren was unmoved.

Seeing this, Roy leaped back. His feet had not even touched the ground before he exploded forward, his speed causing the ground to crack open.

"Here, take this." He said as he made a diagonal slash that moved so fast the blade became invisible.

Aren got ready for a block, putting all his strength into his feet to ensure that he wasn’t pushed back. The smile on his face didn’t fade for even a second. He was fully confident in his ability to handle whatever was happening.

Right before the blade could reach Aren, someone suddenly appeared from the floor, and with his bare hands he caught the blade and Aren’s fist.

BOOOOM

The force from both attacks was massive, but this figure managed to nullify them both.

Aren and Roy were stunned. They looked at the figure, a man. He was pale as paper, with flowing silver hair. He wore a black coat that added to his swag.

He looked up slowly, opening his eyes to reveal his silver eyes that had some sort of cross pattern inside them.

"The two of you, that’s enough." He spoke in a calm tone.

Aren and Roy didn’t try to do anything. They could feel the grip this man had, and even if they tried, they knew for certain that they wouldn’t be able to pull themselves out.

The mark on Roy’s head faded and his anger faded. It didn’t take much brain power to know that the figure here was sent to regulate them or something.

The man finally let go of both of them and then stepped back.

"The two of you, such fights are not allowed here. Save it for when you reach the Arena." He said and then faced Roy. "Stay back with me a few minutes. The rest of you can progress."

After he said that, everyone else left, and Aren was about to leave too, but he was suspicious and wanted to know what was happening, so he activated shadow sense as he started heading up the stairs. He walked slowly to make it seem like he was struggling.

The man looked at Roy, his eyes went serious. "That energy you released a moment ago, it wasn’t soul energy." He said plainly.

Roy was taken by surprise. He looked around in a panic as if searching for a way out, but then the man grabbed him by the neck and pulled him close. "Where did you get your hands on demonic energy?"

"Demonic energy? I have no idea what you are talking about." Roy tried to deny it, but the man added pressure on his neck, threatening to snap it.

Roy’s eyes widened. He struggled, trying to get out. In a panic, he used his father’s name. "My father is Warblade. If you kill me, he’ll come for you." That was his trump card, but rather than be scared, the man smiled. "Warblade, huh? I’m sure he’ll have some answers for me. If he doesn’t, I’ll shatter that little guild that he runs," he said with utmost seriousness.

Roy was stunned. The way this man talked, it was as if he was above it all. Fear gripped Roy. He didn’t want his father losing everything over him. He couldn’t bring such disappointment.

"Fine, I’ll talk." Roy said.
