Chapter 441: Chapter 439: Godfather and Mommy Sleep with Me

Craniotomy, especially the removal of tumors from complex neural areas, has significant effects on the human body and may also damage nerves.

After the surgery, patients’ reaction time, language abilities, and even their work style could have changed.

The chief surgeon Kevin, however, laughed and said that the operation wouldn’t affect a man’s physiological needs, the only explanation being that he hadn’t yet met a woman who could arouse his DESIRE.

Now, a young single mother had indeed managed to awaken the beast within him.

For a man who didn’t want to live like a chaste monk at his young age, this should be a good thing.

Maybe this young woman would be the ’medicine’ for his resurgence?

Maybe, just as Shangguan Xiong had said, if there had to be a long-term partner to take care of his daily needs in Yunling City, who else but her?

Seeing that she seemed finally scared, he achieved his goal, lost interest in continuing to threaten her, and stopped in his tracks.

Since she was his cure-all, he couldn’t be too violent with her.

Taking advantage of his loosened grip, she came to her senses, struggled free from his arm, landed on the floor, and ran upstairs.

She made up her mind, she would leave with Zaizai immediately, she could not stay here a minute longer!

Before she could get far, her wrist was seized by him and pulled back. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

She was terrified, thinking he wasn’t done with her yet.

But then he leaned down, his voice seductive as he whispered in her ear, "I was actually planning on discussing the matter of your son’s expulsion after we went upstairs."

His words were casually uttered yet they were extraordinarily powerful.

With ease, they stopped her from grabbing Zaizai and fleeing the villa, more effective than any military force could ever be.

Yes!

Zaizai was still facing the serious matter of being expelled from kindergarten...

Her family simply could not provoke the powerful ones on the other side.

This man, although not as high in status and identity as Vice Mayor Xu, if he could get Zaizai into Qixing, perhaps he could use his connections and network to plead with Vice Mayor Xu on her behalf?

Anyway, it had to be more effective than her going it alone, right?

She froze, forgetting the man’s earlier brutality toward her.

After a moment, she slowly withdrew her wrist.

Huo Zhenyang saw the young woman’s compromise, a slight smile curving his lips as he headed upstairs.

Minutes later, Jiayi steadied her emotions and also walked to the second floor.

Arriving at the door of the master bedroom, she didn’t forget to take out her phone and call her mother.

On the phone, Jiayi made some excuses, mentioning she and Zaizai would be home late, then entered the room.

In the upstairs bedroom, the bed was made, lit by a bedside lamp.

The soft light was warm and cozy, casting a comforting glow over the spacious room.

Zaizai hadn’t gone to bed yet; seeing his mommy finally come upstairs, his chubby little legs sat cross-legged on the king-size bed playing with a dinosaur model.

There weren’t many toys for children in the villa, just a few decorative dinosaur models. Huo Zhenyang, after going upstairs, threw them on the bed casually for Zaizai to play with.

The model that usually takes adults hours to piece together, this little guy surprisingly managed to assemble the outline in just a few minutes.

Huo Zhenyang sat on the sofa, as was his habit, browsing through business emails from the company in America. During the years he was treated in America, he had all his elite subordinates in China move over and reformed a new team.

The American market is hard, especially for Asians.

But within just a few short years, while undergoing treatment, he led his team from behind the scenes and achieved business success in LA, becoming a leader in both the real estate and entertainment industries.

In the Chinese community, there was talk of a business tycoon who could turn the sky with a flip of his hand, yet few knew that the mastermind behind this was the renowned southern magnate of China, the former CEO of Huo Group.

Although his return to China was intended to reclaim the Chinese market, he had no plans to abandon the achievements he had made in America over the years.

The current acquisition plans were focused on the coastal areas, and Yunling City, being the largest central city on the coast, was his top priority, where he also spent the longest time.

He managed the affairs of the American branch office remotely, through video conferences and email communications.

Working on acquisition plans during the day and then dealing with tasks from America at night, as it was daytime there, had become Huo Zhenyang’s routine, keeping both sides running smoothly.

Seeing mommy come upstairs, Zaizai dropped the toy model he was playing with, hopped off the bed, and walked over to her.

Jiayi took his hand and whispered, "Since you’re sleeping at Uncle Huo’s place, stop playing and go to sleep quickly."

Huo Zhenyang lifted his gaze from the tablet, his attention settling on the mother and child.

Their figures were bathed in a warm, gentle glow, full of soft light.

For the first time, he actually felt that this usually cold and empty bedroom also had a bit of a homey feel to it.

He smirked self-deprecatingly, his lips curving with a trace of faint luster, what was he thinking?

Jiayi made eye contact with the man on the sofa, immediately averting her gaze, trying not to think about what had just happened downstairs.

She picked up Zaizai and tucked him into bed.

"Mommy, stay with me until I fall asleep," Zaizai turned over under the covers.

Jiayi glanced at the man on the sofa, "I’ll go down after I lull Zaizai to sleep."

Huo Zhenyang’s eyelids twitched but he didn’t say anything, merely giving a "do as you please" look.

Jiayi leaned against the headboard, softly patting Zaizai.

Zaizai couldn’t help looking toward Huo Zhenyang again, "Didn’t godfather say he’d sleep with me?"

"Zaizai." Jiayi glared sternly at her son.

Huo Zhenyang couldn’t resist those sad puppy eyes and, generously putting aside his tablet, walked straight to the other side of the bed, sat down, and climbed in.

Jiayi, seeing him taking off his shoes, got startled and tried to get up, but Zaizai clung tightly to her hand, "Mommy also stay here and sleep with me. Don’t leave."

Jiayi felt helpless and very uncomfortable having him just across Zaizai from her, shifting as far to the side as possible.

Huo Zhenyang noticed the little woman frantically trying to avoid him and raised an eyebrow knowingly, propping up his arm and leaning closer to Zaizai’s side.

A wave of warm breath brushed past Zaizai and over to her.

Jiayi dared not breathe, focusing all her attention on Zaizai, patting her son with the hope that he would fall asleep quickly so she could leave the bed.

"Godfather should pat me too." Zaizai grabbed Huo Zhenyang’s hand.

"Zaizai." Jiayi was truly at a loss.

The light in Huo Zhenyang’s eyes shifted as he started to gently pat Zaizai.

Zaizai, being accompanied on both sides for the first time, had never felt this sensation before; although mommy had always stayed with him every night, something always seemed to be missing.

Today, he finally felt completely secure and warm.

In TV shows, other kids always slept snugly between their dad and mom.

He never knew what that felt like until he got a little taste of it today.

Perhaps this is what it’s like to sleep sandwiched between daddy and mommy?

"Neither mommy nor godfather are allowed to leave," Zaizai warned sternly, and then he closed his eyes.
