Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 360 - 358 Sending Her Home
"Every floor will stop, and I’ll see how you can steal my phone! If you don’t agree, I’ll follow you!"
It was the peak of working hours, and each floor’s elevator lobby was crowded. She didn’t believe this man would dare to treat her like he did just now!
Huo Zhenyang’s eyes narrowed, emitting a sharp glint. This little woman was actually still threatening him.
There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new project in the afternoon. With a bunch of reporters following, he couldn’t let this bizarre, crazy woman spoil anything.
His tone already seething with thinly veiled anger, "Shrew."
Looking at her, she didn’t seem old, but for a job, she was really going to any lengths!
The man looked at her with undisguised contempt. Jiayi’s face turned awkward, yet—
A shrew’s a shrew; it’s better than failing to find a job and going back to disappoint Zaizai and Mummy!
She hugged her purse tightly, not minding at all.
Huo Zhenyang’s face grew even more scornful, but he didn’t try to snatch her phone again. His voice was chilling to the bone, "So you really want to enter Yundu?"
Jiayi was taken aback as it seemed the man was finally relenting, "As long as you help me get into Yundu, I will definitely not tell your company leadership that you bumped into me, nor will I ask for compensation for medical expenses! After all, it won’t have any impact on your future!"
Just for a job, demeaning oneself to this extent, it was indeed peculiar.
Huo Zhenyang’s arrogance intensified, "Each enterprise has its own recruiting standards. I can’t interfere. At most, I can put in a word with the interviewer to see if you can enter the next stage of the written exam. Whether you can get in or not, that’s up to you."
Being able to participate in the written exam meant there was hope. Hope flared up in Jiayi, her almond-shaped eyes shimmered like ripples on a lake, "Really?"
The young girl lifted her face, just moments before she was fierce like a little wild cat, and now she was full of longing and innocence. Seeing her expression, something flickered through Huo Zhenyang’s heart, but it disappeared in an instant as he nodded slightly.
Just then, the elevator reached the first floor. With a ding, the doors opened.
Ade was waiting for the Boss on the first floor of the Yundu Building. Seeing Huo Zhenyang come down, he approached him, but as he saw the petite figure behind the boss, he was immediately surprised.
Wasn’t she the same young lady who almost got hit outside the building this morning?
Jiayi saw Huo Zhenyang walking away quickly and suddenly remembered something, hurrying after him, "Wait a minute!"
Huo Zhenyang’s brows furrowed tightly, his steps didn’t stop, his voice impatient, "What else do you want?"
The man’s legs were long, and his strides were big; one of his steps equaled three or four of hers.
She endured the pain from her injured leg and walked in high heels, which felt like a punishment, but still, she followed his steps while saying, "Who exactly are you in Yundu?"
She couldn’t just not know what his position was, after all. Better to ask and be sure—if she didn’t get a call back for a follow-up interview, or if he denied everything, she would be able to find him directly!
Huo Zhenyang stopped in his tracks and turned around. His deep eyes held a hint of amusement, "You can guess."
How could she guess that? Seeing that the administrative department’s Manager Yang was very polite to him, he must at least be on a par with her, she ventured a guess, "Are you a department manager? Marketing? Or perhaps Advertising?"
Ade couldn’t help but blurt out, "Miss..."
Before he could finish, Huo Zhenyang gave Ade a glance, stopping him with his gaze. His eyes wandered lazily, glancing at Jiayi, "Hmm, close enough."
Jiayi knew she hadn’t guessed wrong, "Then which department are you from?"
Huo Zhenyang pondered for a few seconds, his tone playful, the corners of his mouth turned up in a mocking smile, "I suppose you could say I’m from the Resource Recycling Department."
Resource Recycling Department? What department was that?
Jiayi had never heard of it before, but that wasn’t surprising.
Such large enterprises had very detailed department classifications, and Yundu Building was just one of their office locations; they also had a garment industrial park located outside the city area.
Just then, Ade exclaimed softly, "Miss, your leg is bleeding."
It was only then that Jiayi felt a sharp pain at her ankle. She had quickly stopped the bleeding with a paper towel to get through the interview, but after the fierce struggle in the elevator with that man and then running after him, the wound had burst open again.
Bright red blood, like meandering streams, flowed down her clean ankle.
Jiayi pulled out a tissue, pressed it against the wound, and cleaned off the bloodstain.
Outside the building earlier, Ade had felt she was seriously hurt, and now seeing it for himself, he didn’t dare take it lightly, "Miss, it’s probably not okay like this; you should go get it bandaged, and it would be safer to get a tetanus shot."
As Jiayi wiped away the blood, she shook her head, "I’ll just clean it with medical iodine when I get back."
She had just promised this man that if he was willing to help her get into Yundu, this injury would have nothing to do with him.
As long as she could get into Yundu, what was a little injury?
She said she would do it and would never break her word.
As she prepared to leave, she limped along. Her leg was already injured, and the high heels only added to the discomfort. It was hard to walk quickly.
Seeing this, Ade looked toward the Boss, "Since we’re about to leave anyway, why not give this young lady a ride home? It’s difficult for her to walk like this, and if something happens, it would be our responsibility."
What a nuisance.
Huo Zhenyang looked up at his wristwatch; there was still plenty of time before the afternoon ribbon-cutting ceremony, and he furrowed his brows impatiently.
Ade knew, when the Boss didn’t speak, it meant he agreed.
He quickly approached Jiayi, "Miss, we are just about to leave, so we’ll take you home first."
Jiayi glanced at her leg and didn’t hesitate. Her mom had gone to the dance class, and Zaizai was alone at home; she wanted to get back quickly to be with her son, so she agreed.
After getting in the car, Ade turned his head and asked, "What’s your last name, miss, and where do you live?"
Jiayi hurriedly replied, "My last name is Chu, I live in Fuyah Residential Area in Southern District, building three, fourth floor, room 402."
Ade started the engine, and the car began to move along the road.
The BMW had cool air conditioning, thick and soft seat cushions, and a subtle fragrance wafted through the air.
Jiayi felt even the pain in her leg had eased somewhat.
But the man beside her was like a block of ice, silent since getting into the car, taking out his business tablet, swiping through it, and sending emails, as if the woman sitting next to him didn’t exist at all.
Midway through the drive, a ringtone from a cell phone broke the tranquility inside the luxury car.
Huo Zhenyang knitted his brows and slightly lifted his handsome face from the business tablet.
Jiayi hurriedly pulled out her phone, "Sorry about that, it’s mine." She glanced at the caller ID, it was Zaizai, and quickly answered.
Feeling the man’s displeasure next to her and not wanting to disturb him, she turned away, her back facing him and toward the car window, and spoke in a lowered voice, "What’s up?"
TV dialogue could be heard on the other end of the phone; presumably, mommy had already gone to dance class, and Zaizai was at home alone.
