Chapter 359: Chapter 357: Reporting You to Death in Minutes

Jiayi nodded, limping over, "Don’t you remember me?"

Huo Zhenyang slightly raised his chiseled jaw, his masculine gaze wandering over the woman’s petite frame. After assessing her for a while, he finally spoke, "A hint would be helpful."

He had just returned to China recently, busy with acquisitions and consolidations, meeting too many people every day

Jiayi pointed to her ankle and said earnestly, "Forty minutes ago, your car almost hit me in front of the Yundu Building, causing me to fall."

He understood then.

Huo had just been sitting in the car and hadn’t bothered to look at the person his car had collided with. Now, seeing how she was dressed and coming from the direction of the interviews, he realized she had come to Yundu for an interview.

The man lifted his thick eyebrows briskly, "Need compensation for medical expenses? You can go to the hospital first, then call the number Ade left you. He’ll be there to settle the bill in half an hour. If it’s serious, we’ll arrange a hospital room for you."

Having said that, with a "ding" sound, the elevator doors opened, and he turned his tall, distinguished figure to step inside.

"I’m not here for the medical expenses!" Jiayi exclaimed as she saw him about to leave.

Huo Zhenyang’s face turned cold in an instant, pausing for a moment while his eyes narrowed slightly, "If not for the medical expenses, what do you want?"

Jiayi felt her face burning up like a liver, "I wanted to ask if you’re a part of Yundu’s management?"

Doubt flickered in Huo Zhenyang’s deep, dark eyes as he fixed his gaze on the small woman in front of him.

Seeing his silence, Jiayi became even more certain of his identity and continued, "I am here to interview for the position of a designer’s assistant at Yundu. But I’m just a fresh graduate and my qualifications do not meet your company’s standards... I’ve always admired your company and wanted to join, so I was hoping..."

Huo Zhenyang seemed to guess what she was getting at and a smile edged on his lips, but it was filled with disdain as he interrupted, "So, you’re hoping I’ll pull strings for you, to get you into Yundu?"

Jiayi’s face turned even redder, not expecting him to be so blunt, yet she could only nod, "Yes."

An amused smirk crossed Huo Zhenyang’s lips; he had never met such a brazen woman.

He couldn’t be bothered to say more and turned to enter the elevator.

Jiayi stood frozen for a half second before realizing— he had just turned her down.

"Derek Fok!" She called out crisply.

His expression changed slightly and he paused momentarily in his tracks.

Seizing the brief moment, she dashed forward, blocking the middle of the elevator, took out her phone, aimed it at both him and herself for a selfie, then, with another click, she took a photo of the injury on her ankle.

"What are you doing?" His voice was icy as he glared at her.

Jiayi tossed her phone into her large shoulder bag to prevent him from snatching it away and stuttered, "Your car injured me like this, I have to preserve evidence! With someone like you in high company position, I fear once you turn around, you’ll be too busy with important matters and forget all about it!"

This wasn’t because she feared he would be too busy—it was clearly a threat.

A chill instantly enveloped Huo Zhenyang’s brow. This woman, truly had no shame. Extending his arm, he spread his palm before her, demanding decisively, "Give it to me."

The frost on the man’s face terrified her; Jiayi had never seen such a formidable man. She instinctively stepped back, into the elevator.

Huo Zhenyang, pressing her further, followed her inside, insisting, "Give it to me, the phone."

At the same time, the elevator doors chimed closed and began to descend.

The enclosed space instantly fell silent.

Only the intense breathing of two people could be heard, one out of anger, the other out of tension.

"This is my phone, why should I give it to you?" she mustered her courage.

"You took my photo without permission, violating my portrait rights, do you know I can sue you to death in minutes?" Huo Zhenyang raised an eyebrow, his voice becoming more fierce.

Who does this guy think he is, not some super celebrity, can’t you just take a photo?

Is the photo that valuable?

Even if it’s a super celebrity, taking a photo with someone on the street wouldn’t get you sued to death, right?

Jiayi puffed out her chest, trying to match his assertiveness: "Even if it goes to court, it’s not certain who will be sued. Your car hit me, I’m the victim, I’m just preserving the evidence!"

"I’m giving you one last chance, hand it over," the man’s tone began to shift.

It seems like this man is really afraid of making a big deal out of the accident, good then!

Although Jiayi was somewhat afraid of the man in front of her, she couldn’t help but feel a slight triumph, slinging the handbag with her phone onto her back, refusing to give it:

"I know, for people like you in high management, reputation is important, it affects promotions and raises. If your superiors and the CEO find out about the accident, it could affect your future. But while your future is important, we ordinary people are also born of parents. Should we just let you hit us for nothing?"

She talked a good game, as if she was full of righteous indignation, wasn’t she just hoping he would cut her some slack, helping her get into Yundu? Huo Zhenyang had already given her the last chance, without further ado, his eyes like a hawk’s, he stepped forward, stretching out his long arm, attempting to snatch her shoulder bag hidden behind her.

She was startled, bent over, and wrapped up the shoulder bag, determined not to let him grab it.

He sneered coldly, catching her slender wrists sharply, pinning them against the elevator wall, and then reached for the bag tucked in her embrace.

The aggressive, masculine scent of the man as he pounced overwhelmed her, and Jiayi’s body hair stood on end. She hunched over and clung to the bag for dear life: "There are cameras in the elevator, if people from your company and your bosses see, you’ll be finished..."

He chuckled dismissively, shattering her feeble threat: "I’m sorry, the VIP executive elevator doesn’t have cameras."

With that, he snatched her shoulder bag!

Not bothering to dig through a woman’s bag, he just dumped everything onto the floor with a swish!

Resumes, drafts, notebooks, ballpoint pens, drawing pencils...

Huo Zhenyang frowned, this was all fine, but there were also lollipops, baby bottles, pacifiers, towels, and... what was that? That big white sheet, was it a super-sized sanitary napkin or what?

Wasn’t she just a young woman who had recently graduated? Shouldn’t her handbag contain cosmetics, an IPAD, headphones, and fashion magazines? What was all this stuff?

The phone was buried within the miscellaneous items, completely out of sight.

Jiayi saw the intense disdain in the man’s eyes and her face turned red.

She would frequently use this big shoulder bag when taking her son out because it was practical, mostly carrying these mom essentials.

The bottle, pacifier, and lollipops were for comforting Zaizai, the towel for wiping his sweat after he played himself tired, and that nappy was from long ago, kept inside although Zaizai no longer needed it, probably forgotten to be removed.

Seizing his moment of hesitation, she quickly scooped up everything on the floor, rolled it back into her handbag, guarding it tightly, and wouldn’t let him touch it again. Then she swiftly lunged, pressing all the elevator buttons for each floor in an instant!
