The Four Constellation Samsara Blade was the martial intent Shang Xia had comprehended back in the Four Constellation Realm. Yet after being baptized by the power of time that flowed through the Star River, its might had already risen to a level approaching the upper limit of what his current cultivation could unleash.

Thus, when he swung that long-prepared strike, the sundered void could no longer mend itself, the torn sea of clouds could no longer merge, and even the severed arcs of lightning could no longer reconnect.

Naturally, the rift in space, hidden beneath the sea of clouds, lightning, and void, connecting to the Nightmare Sea of Stars, was also revealed before Shang Xia’s eyes. Along with it emerged five or six distinct auras, each clearly foreign to the Chaotic Sea of Stars yet no weaker than that of a Sage. Because of the spatial fissure between them, however, he could not see their actual figures or faces.

There was no doubt that these presences were all experts from the Nightmare Sea of Stars, at least two of whom possessed power on par with a high-level Sage. Although they could only sense each other across the spatial gap, Shang Xia faintly perceived something about them that felt fundamentally wrong. There was something out of place that he could not put his finger on. That feeling made him silently heighten his vigilance.

His strike had indeed allowed him to witness the experts from the Nightmare Sea of Stars, but at the same time, it had also removed the barrier that once separated both sides.

The six experts on the other side, instead of retreating, intensified their offensive with the obstruction weakened, hurling their power toward Shang Xia with even greater ferocity.

At the same time, three of them began crossing the spatial fissure that connected the Nightmare Sea of Stars and the Flood Star Region, attempting to cross over. It was all a consequence of that single slash of Shang Xia’s arm.

If Shang Xia so wished, he could have withdrawn at any time. As for the descent of the invaders from the Nightmare Sea of Stars, the various high-level experts of the Flood Star Region would naturally respond and defend their territory. But abandoning the field after inadvertently enabling such a threat was not Shang Xia’s way.

Facing the six combined attackers, he first unleashed Dipper Vortex, neutralizing more than half their power.

Then, with Shifting Dipper, he reversed the remaining force of their assault and hurled it back toward the three experts who were traversing the fissure.

Such a method could not possibly stop them completely, but it was enough to slow their advance.

The three who had not yet entered the fissure provided cover, their attacks crossing the void once more to strike at Shang Xia.

However, their strength was clearly inferior to that of the three already crossing. Shang Xia responded with Shattered Starry Skies, breaking apart their combined offensive.

The residual force of that strike surged along the fissure itself, proving the name of his technique. It sought to destroy the spatial passage connecting the Star Fields.

The three experts of the Nightmare Sea of Stars already halfway across hastily joined forces to stop the damage, and they soon dispersed the destructive remnants of Shang Xia’s blow. Yet stabilizing the fissure required far more power than destroying it. They were forced to expend considerable strength just to maintain the stability of the channel.

Fortunately for them, the Nightmare Sea of Stars had prepared well in advance. The three attempting the crossing were the most powerful among the six. Two of them were high-level Sages, and the third was a mid-level Sage at the fifth star.

Behind them, their three companions continued to cover them from afar.

Confident in their overwhelming strength, the experts of the Nightmare Sea of Stars had immediately chosen to force their way through the fissure upon sensing that only Shang Xia stood against them.

Even so, the three hastened their passage as much as possible.

Meanwhile, the six or seven lightning spheres that had survived Shang Xia’s earlier attacks converged once more, streaking toward him with bolts of lightning that assaulted both his physical body and his divine soul.

Though more than ten spheres had failed to harm him before, those remaining few could do even less. Their true purpose was only to distract him.

Yet Shang Xia’s divine soul and confidence far exceeded the expectations of his foes.

Ignoring the lightning spheres entirely, he advanced against the barrage from the three across the rift and unleashed yet another martial intent.

Two rings of five-colored light flew out from within his body. The twin halos, possessing the properties of Yin and Yang, rotated in opposite directions, grinding against each other as they emitted radiance that eroded the barrier within the fissure’s corridor.

The technique was aimed squarely at destroying the entire fissure, to sever the link between the Nightmare Sea of Stars and the Flood Star Region.

The six experts of the Nightmare Sea of Stars regarded his attempt with open disdain.

A rift formed by the collision of two Star Fields that existed for centuries... If it were truly that fragile, it would have been destroyed long ago.

Indeed, events seemed to unfold just as they expected. Shang Xia’s Five Element Annihilation Yin Yang Ring quickly met resistance within the channel, their power apparently failing to do much damage to the spatial wall.

But Shang Xia’s expression did not waver. Instead, he continued to pour more energy into it, using it as an opportunity to hone the upper limits of his Five Element Annihilation Yin Yang Ring.

Though the experts of the Nightmare Sea of Stars believed the passage unbreakable, they would not simply let him act unopposed. Moreover, the three still inside the fissure would need to clear their obstacle if they wished to complete their descent.

Soon, six familiar lightning spheres emerged once again, each flying out from one of the experts of the Nightmare Sea of Stars. They converged within the spatial passage, then plunged into the glowing vortex of Shang Xia’s Five Element Annihilation Yin Yang Ring.

That second, Shang Xia sensed all of them growing significantly weaker. They had sacrificed a portion of their inner qi to release those spheres.

The results were immediate. Upon entering the five-colored light rings, the six lightning spheres exploded, completely shattering the Five Element Annihilation Yin Yang Rings. Even if Shang Xia had wanted to maintain it, he could not.

“Another assault on the divine soul... What exactly are these lightning spheres that they can create?”

Unlike the previous 10-odd weakened versions of those lightning spheres affected by the Lightning Prison, the six that had just been created were incomparably stronger. Two or three of them rivaled the sphere that He Jiubin had once used to strike at his mind, and the rest still far exceeded any of the earlier ones.

A cold smile crossed Shang Xia’s lips. “Too bad for you, the origin qi within these spheres is steeped in the essence of the Nightmare Sea of Stars... They happen to be especially restrained by me.”

He drew his Seven Star Mace back with a flick, and the remaining few lightning spheres that had been harassing him instantly faded from existence, vanishing like stars hidden by storm clouds.

With a fluid motion, he hurled it straight into the heart of the spatial fissure.
