Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station-Chapter 472 - 162: The Final Preparations Before Departure
Chen Ming subconsciously glanced at the Space Station’s dock when talking about Cheng Xinghe.
The Water Buffalo filled with frozen escape pods is still parked near the Brilliant Level.
"Cheng Xinghe and those other people from the Fourteenth Legion I took away are now at the Pirate Space Station, I haven’t released them yet."
"Do you want to pick them up yourself, or should I release them to let them go back on their own?"
Bai Quan quickly replied, "Let me pick them up, just keep them frozen for now."
"Cheng Xinghe made a mistake earlier, and he will face the appropriate punishment when he returns."
"Alright, so when we discussed Cheng Xinghe, do you remember what you promised?"
"Of course."
Bai Quan responded quickly.
"Your request was to learn fleet command technology with us and receive the rewards we usually give to the top cadets at our Officer Academy."
"That includes four Guards and one Destroyer, plus access to professional space battle simulation facilities."
"Honestly, I’m a bit hesitant to let you handle the equipment now, but since I already promised, I have no problem with it."
"As for the ships, I still owe you a Cruiser, right? Let’s discuss it together later."
"For now, let’s confirm how you plan to learn. Still the online method we talked about?"
Without much thought, Chen Ming replied, "Online, that’s the best way."
"Alright, but using the equipment later might be a bit tricky."
"However, I can apply for a separate server group connected to the simulators at our base in the Gallo Star Realm."
"Internal computations rely on their end, and we only handle scene rendering here."
"It’s something we had to set up eventually, so you can be the first user."
"And with your special terminal, maintaining normal study and training should be fine."
"I always have personnel ready, we can start anytime."
"If you have any issues with the instructors, you can contact me directly,"
"Or, when I have time later, I can personally teach you."
Chen Ming couldn’t help but ask, "You’re a Major General, soon to be a Vice Admiral, are you really that free?"
"Not at all, which is why I said I’d make time. Learning fleet command is about talent."
"Once the foundational knowledge is taught, you don’t need constant supervision. I can practice with you on the simulators at most."
Chen Ming understood and said, "Got it, let’s agree on that then."
"Okay, now about the ships, do you have any thoughts?"
Chen Ming didn’t immediately reply but instead asked, "Do you give strange ships to your cadets?"
"What do you mean by strange ships?"
"Not produced by the military but by other companies, or maybe even Dusk’s ships."
Bai Quan pondered and said, "Generally, we provide our cadets with our own ships because they learn our military’s command techniques."
"But some special cadets don’t learn the standard military protocol."
"If they want ships, they can request them as long as they have a sufficient reason. You can too."
"Though as you know, Dusk’s ships aren’t readily available here, unless you’re willing to wait a month or two for me to arrange it."
"Then forget it."
Chen Ming immediately declined Bai Quan’s offer as he couldn’t afford to wait that long.
So he straightforwardly stated his plan, "I want the Speed Particle Technology’s Torrential Rain."
Bai Quan instinctively responded, "That’s expensive! A Torrential Rain costs nearly two billion."
"I remember you said money wasn’t important before."
"That depends on the situation. When we talked before, I was a Psychic and just an ordinary Major General."
"But now I need to consider my entire base, so it’s different."
"However, if you truly want the Torrential Rain, I’ll get it for you. All four Guards will be Torrential Rains?"
"Yes, it’s a great ship."
"Terminator Unmanned Fighter...well, combined with your abilities, it seems a good choice. And the Destroyer?"
Chen Ming had already thought it through and replied, "Your kind of special Law Enforcement, it should be the most resilient Destroyer I know."
"Resilient...you have some understanding of fleet battle knowledge."
"Just some experience from observing large-scale battles and the skirmish with Cheng Xinghe."
"I actually think the Cow Herder type might work too, since it’s the biggest Destroyer."
Bai Quan suddenly advised, "I wouldn’t recommend the Cow Herder because it requires a special docking berth."
"Unless you plan to permanently assign a mobile maintenance team to it, docking anywhere will be problematic."
"So which one do you want?"
Chen Ming agreed smoothly, "Then the Law Enforcement it is."
"Alright."
Bai Quan noted Chen Ming’s request and then asked, "What about the Cruiser?"
For Chen Ming, the Cruiser is crucial now.
So Chen Ming must carefully think it over before making a decision.
He currently has six Cruisers in total.
Brilliant Level, Radiance Level, Refraction Level, Supreme Peak Level, and Giant Level.
And one Flashing Level that was sent away because the Pirate Space Station couldn’t accommodate it after repairs.
Among them, the Giant Level is a cargo ship, and the Supreme Peak Level is a reconnaissance ship.
