Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Clean Yourself Up

"Yes! Yes! I do!" Evelyn quickly shouted out.

She thought it was something serious!

Just taking pictures!

She’d be willing to take as many as needed!

Looking at Evelyn’s naïve and clueless expression, a flicker of light crossed Caden Lockwood’s eyes, a mystery too quick to capture.

He finally let her go, got off her, and got out of bed first, saying coldly, "Clean yourself up."

Watching Caden’s departing back, Evelyn slowly sat up, confusion suddenly overwhelming her.

Why did he want to take pictures with her?

Was there some deeper meaning?

Carrying this puzzlement, she went to the bathroom and saw brand-new toiletries. She couldn’t help but wonder, does he just have extras at home?

Does he always keep toiletries in stock?

Without overthinking it, after freshening up, Evelyn went downstairs.

Caden was standing in the living room, looking as if he had been waiting for her for a long time.

"Come over here." He said gravely, "Smile more brightly."

She looked him up and down; he was holding his phone, ready to take pictures.

Evelyn felt a bit uneasy and timidly asked, "Why... take pictures?"

Faced with Caden, she couldn’t help but stay on full alert.

She always felt if she wasn’t careful, she’d be tricked by him.

"You’ll know soon enough," Caden said arrogantly, his gaze fixating on Evelyn, with a commanding presence.

After hesitating for a while, she finally walked over to him.

After all, she couldn’t figure out what’s so complicated about taking photos.

Standing beside Caden, with the wall as the background, they took several pictures.

"You take pretty good photos!" Evelyn remarked as she looked through the pictures and laughed brightly, "Looks like you take a lot of selfies?"

Caden’s handsome face darkened, and his hands unconsciously clenched into fists.

He’s taken very few photos—many people wanted one but couldn’t get it.

"Aren’t you going to make breakfast?" He squeezed out through clenched teeth, "Dragging on like this, are you planning to starve me?"

Evelyn glared at Caden with displeasure, muttering to herself, "Changing face faster than flipping pages in a book! It’s still early! A little hunger won’t kill you."

Suddenly, she screamed, "Oh my God! I didn’t go home last night, Aunt May is definitely worried sick! Where’s my phone? I have to call home quickly!"

"I answered the call," Caden said coldly, "and told them you slept over at my place."

"What?" Evelyn froze, staring at Caden blankly, "You answered... the phone... said I... slept at your place?"

Evelyn was completely stunned.

A man answered the phone claiming her absence overnight; Aunt May would surely freak out!

"How can you just answer someone else’s phone!" Evelyn shouted furiously, "Everyone at school thinks we’re a couple, and now even Aunt May..."

"I said I was your teacher and you stayed to help me mark papers, slept at the faculty dorms." Caden casually made up.

He didn’t want to argue too many times with Evelyn so early in the morning.

This little troublemaker was hard to manage.

As for Aunt May, wouldn’t his word be enough to calm her down?

Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief, patted Caden’s shoulder, and laughed, "Lying is indeed second nature to you!"

His explanation actually made sense!

As she saw the gloomy look on his face as she wished, she swiftly slipped into the kitchen, leaving the frustrated him uncared for...
