Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 31: How Far Has Your Relationship Progressed
"Why the long face?" Julian Keaton frowned, "Then, tell me, how did the two of you meet? How far has your relationship progressed?"
Evelyn Morgan was stunned; how could a man be so... nosy?
Her body felt stiff under the glare of anger, and Evelyn had never felt so awkward; she just wanted to leave quickly and not be interrogated any longer.
"Sir..." Evelyn said softly, "You seem to have misunderstood. The relationship between him and me isn’t what you think."
As the words fell, Evelyn clearly found herself thrown into a colder icehouse.
Caden Lockwood glared at her as if he wanted to swallow her whole.
Meanwhile, Julian Keaton was first taken aback, then he flashed a mischievous smile.
Julian looked at Caden with an expression that seemed to say: "You couldn’t get the girl, could you?"
Caden was furious, slightly raising his chin, displaying an even sharper, domineering aura as the mysterious cold light flashed in his black eyes.
"Keep your sister in check." His tone lacked warmth, "I’ll let her go this time, there won’t be a second chance. You can’t protect her."
With those words, Caden took Evelyn’s hand and prepared to leave.
Julian’s gaze was frozen.
Exaggerating a bit, he’s known Caden Lockwood since the day they were born, and after all these years, he’d never seen Caden voluntarily get close to a woman outside of his family.
And now, Caden was actually holding a woman’s hand?
Julian closed his eyes briefly, opened them again, and those hands were still tightly held—it wasn’t his imagination.
"Caden!" Julian hurried to catch up, "Are you serious?"
After asking, he felt his intelligence dropping—when had he ever seen Caden play games?
But if this wasn’t play, it was even more concerning!
If Caden wanted to get married, it wasn’t just his affair; it involved the whole Lockwood Family!
Caden didn’t even bother looking at Julian, not replying, as he dragged Evelyn away.
Julian was left in place, realizing he needed to investigate who she really was.
His intuition told him that Caden developing feelings for a mysterious woman wasn’t a good sign.
Only when they were far, far away from Julian did Evelyn’s breathing slowly become relaxed.
"You’re afraid of him?" Caden’s tone was obviously displeased.
Evelyn glanced at Caden, completely puzzled by his anger at this moment.
"Isn’t he scary?" She earnestly questioned, "People are indeed divided into groups—your friend is as cold and unapproachable as you." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Besides being afraid of me, you shouldn’t be afraid of anyone else!" Caden’s tone was gravely serious, "Erin Morgan, you dare to be bold and angry in front of me but shrink like a mouse in front of others. Be careful or I’ll hit you!"
"Ha—hahaha—"
Evelyn couldn’t help it and laughed out loud.
He took a slow step forward, showing his already clenched fist, his overwhelming arrogance entirely covering her.
She strained her facial muscles into a serious expression, but her amber eyes were still dancing with laughter, unconsciously beginning to ponder his disgruntled question.
Clearly, Caden’s chilly aura surpassed Julian’s, so why wasn’t she very afraid of Caden?
Was it because they’d spent so much time together, giving her immunity?
Or perhaps, subconsciously, she knew that he wouldn’t actually do anything to her?
Oh my!
Why did she have such a justified belief?
"I... I’m heading back." Evelyn suddenly felt embarrassed, "If I’m any later, I won’t have a ride."
