Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 30: She’s Not Just a Fling
Having tasted the dream meal she’d been longing for, Evelyn’s whole world became bright and sunny, especially since the meal came with a stuffed toy pendant.
She chose an "Egan Cross" and pointed it out to Caden, saying, "Look, you and he are so alike! Especially since you’re always in a black suit, both of you look cold on the outside but are actually kind-hearted men."
Caden’s eyes froze for a moment. He’d heard others describe him with terms like "cold" and "overbearing." The word "gentle," did it really apply to him too?
Seeing Caden’s face full of disbelief, Evelyn chuckled and explained, "You just pretend to be tough to hide your true self, but you’re actually kind at heart! Uncle, although I don’t know what happened to you in the past, don’t give up on yourself! After all, making money with your body won’t last forever. Eventually, you’ll have to lead a grounded life."
Upon hearing Evelyn’s words, Caden’s face turned from blue to white.
He clenched his fist, feeling that if he continued to interact with her under the guise of a "Cowherd," he might just explode out of frustration.
"Erin Morgan, open your eyes and take a good look. How many ’Cowherds’ have you seen that are me..."
"Caden!" A magnetic male voice suddenly rang out, full of surprise.
Caden turned around, his brows furrowed, and said coldly, "Why are you here?"
The person who arrived was Eleanor’s brother, Julian Keaton.
Julian now found Evelyn even more intriguing, sizing her up before laughing strangely and asking, "Is this the woman causing Eleanor to throw fits at home?"
Evelyn felt a bit uneasy; Julian was also quite handsome but gave off a different vibe compared to Caden.
Caden wasn’t one to smile, but Julian had been smiling non-stop from the moment he arrived. Yet, that smile was chilling.
It’s like the wet cold of the south and the dry cold of the north; different ways of being cold, but cold nonetheless.
"Julian Keaton." Caden narrowed his eyes slightly, his voice icy, with clear traces of warning. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Julian continued to gaze at Evelyn, commenting strangely, "Not too bad looking, but surely looks alone aren’t enough to gain your favor, right? Or does she have some other charm I’m not aware of?"
Evelyn couldn’t help but take a step back, feeling extremely awkward and fearful of Julian’s scrutiny.
She’s not a monkey in the zoo, so why was she being looked at like that?
"What’s your name?" Julian asked Evelyn.
Evelyn sneaked a peek at Caden, noticing his face darkened with silence. After hesitating for a moment, she timidly uttered her name.
In that instant, she realized the anger blazing in Caden’s gaze grew more intense.
Faced with this fury solely aimed at her, Evelyn felt utterly innocent.
"Evelyn Morgan?" Julian murmured the name, feeling a vague familiarity as if he had heard it somewhere before.
However, he couldn’t recall ever having interacted with such a woman.
Perhaps it was just that her name was particularly memorable!
Shaking off the inexplicable sense of familiarity, Julian continued questioning, "Do you know who the man beside you is? Do you understand what it means to be noticed by him?"
Faced with Julian’s barrage of questions, Evelyn was quite bewildered.
She was just having a meal with her uncle, but how did she end up being mistaken for a girlfriend?
