Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 22: Uncle, You’re Not a Beast
Faced with the anger emanating from Caden Lockwood, Evelyn’s scalp tingled, causing an uncontrollable shiver. She cheered herself on internally, reminding herself not to be too weak.
Taking a deep breath, she looked at Finn Lewis again and said in an apologetic tone, "Senior, I’m sorry, I can’t agree to be your girlfriend. I hope you find a girl who suits you and loves you soon."
As soon as she finished speaking, she started to pull Caden away, eager to leave this place quickly.
"Evelyn!" Finn called out urgently, "I don’t believe your heart has no space for me at all, you..."
"Your charm attracts many suitors, showing my judgment isn’t bad." Caden stopped in his tracks, staring intently at Evelyn, "But no matter how many admirers you have, compared to me, they’re all worthless."
With that, he looked back at Finn and said coldly, "You’re already a man about to enter the professional world, yet you’re pursuing a girl with this kind of romantic but useless strategy. Even if you succeed, you’re entering a period of life instability at work; how much time can you spare to maintain a newly budding romance?"
Finn stood awkwardly, unable to answer Caden’s probing questions.
Caden lowered his dark eyes; his tall and sturdy frame exuded an overwhelming force of compliance, his fist bulging with thick veins as he restrained his urge to destroy everything.
Is this woman in such a hurry to drag him away to protect this immature brat?
Caden has always been proud; from childhood to adulthood, he has consistently stood at the pinnacle among his peers.
At only twenty-eight, he securely sits atop the Lockwood Group as CEO, using his strong, successful methods and vision to subdue all the old foxes on the board, leaving them unable to act recklessly or suppress him due to age differences.
Age has always been his proud capital, but right now, has it become the object of ridicule?
They say there’s a generation gap between him and Evelyn?
Would the emotional intelligence and IQ of a successful man allow such a gap to exist?
Caden narrowed his eyes dangerously, slowly stepping forward, his unbridled arrogance silently pressuring everyone present.
Only to see his thin lips slightly part, uttering a few syllables: "If you have such deep feelings for my wife, why wait until your graduation internship to confess?"
Evelyn listened, stunned and dazed, still not quite recovering as Caden pulled her away.
She even heard most people in the crowd become instant fans of Caden.
The tone of his speech was lofty and inviolable, each question asked in an orderly and imposing manner.
She thinks if he "reforms" and studies law, he’d surely become a superstar in the legal world!
Evelyn’s thoughts drifted far away, so much so that when Caden threw her into the car, and his domineering body pressed down, she realized she had become the most dangerous target.
"Unc... Uncle..." Her voice trembled uncontrollably, "You... you..."
"Worried about him?" His fierce gaze carried menace, "Afraid I’ll eat him alive?"
Evelyn’s face stiffened; her fear of Caden seemed innate, causing her to quite often choose absolute obedience in his presence.
"Heh... heh heh..." She forced a smile with difficulty, trying to lighten the atmosphere, "Uncle, you’re not a beast, how could you eat someone?"
Caden furrowed his dark brows, his usually calm demeanor revealing a trace of strangeness, his pupils growing deeper, his gaze falling on her proudly raised chest, his breathing growing increasingly rough.
