Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 21: I Am Her Husband
The air around them turned chilly as Caden Lockwood stood his ground, exuding an air of arrogance and dominance. His dark eyes were cold and mysterious, like a deep pool, making one too wary to gaze directly.
"Who are you?" Finn Lewis stared intently at Evelyn Morgan’s waist where his hand was resting. "I’ve known Evelyn for so long, she doesn’t even have a boyfriend!"
Caden leisurely raised his eyebrows, tightening his grip around Evelyn Morgan as he casually remarked, "I am her husband."
Those few words shifted the scene between two extremes: rapid silence and explosive chaos.
Evelyn’s gaze seemed frozen in place, her wide eyes full of Caden Lockwood. He was insufferably arrogant and yet, confidently composed, compelling belief.
She began to unconsciously question whether she had actually married him at some point.
No, no!
How could she possibly have married him?
With Caden’s revelation, Finn Lewis’s complexion suddenly changed, becoming awkward, overwhelmed, and angry. He looked at Evelyn, trying to verify, "Is it...true?"
It felt as though everyone’s gaze was concentrated on her, and Evelyn didn’t react immediately, her small mouth slightly agape, seeing Finn’s pained expression and feeling a twinge of reluctance.
Her intention was to reject Finn, and even the reasons she had were already enough to make her head hurt.
Now her uncle has suddenly claimed to be her husband?
Even if he showed up to help her out of the situation, he didn’t need to say such a shocking falsehood!
She doesn’t want to end up on the university forum’s headline!
"I didn’t..."
Before she could finish speaking, the hand around her waist suddenly tightened, and Caden’s icy, cold voice whispered by her ear, "Think carefully before you respond." The tone was full of threat.
Her amber eyes shrunk in fright, and Evelyn wisely knew that defying her uncle’s wishes would only make matters worse.
She then stunningly realized that he was a ticking time bomb, always ready to explode her life into darkness.
Yet, he controlled her with a secret she dared not reveal, while maintaining a calm facade, harmlessly as if he had done nothing at all.
This man was multifaceted, scaring her, yet strangely making her admire him.
"Evelyn." Finn took a step forward, just as he attempted to approach Evelyn, she was repositioned, facing the overwhelming presence of Caden Lockwood.
Caden was significantly taller than Finn, his whole aura completely suppressing Finn. Between the two, it was a match with no suspense.
Caden glanced at the candles and roses on the ground with deep disdain in his eyes, waiting for Evelyn to acknowledge him as her husband.
"Impossible!" Finn still held onto a shred of hope, "Evelyn hasn’t married yet! She couldn’t possibly like you! You’re already a member of society, several years older than us, aren’t you? How many generational gaps are there between you and her? How could Evelyn possibly marry you?"
Upon hearing this, Caden’s eyes narrowed, icy coldness swept toward Finn, his handsome face darkened, a faint, shallow arc formed at the corner of his mouth, but it wasn’t a smile.
Seeing her uncle already brimming with anger, Evelyn knew things weren’t going well.
The image of Caden fighting flashed through her mind, she instinctively tightened her grip on his arm and urgently spoke out, "Let’s just go back!"
In that instant, all anger roared toward her.
