Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Because of Me, You’ve Got Plenty of Rivals in Love

Evelyn snapped back to reality; it turned out that Caden Lockwood was referring to her bet on the forum about winning a scholarship at the end of the term.

"I guess so..." Her answer wasn’t all that confident, "I’ll try my best!"

"Because of me, you’ve got quite a few rivals at school, and there’s even a post saying they’ll fight you for the scholarship to embarrass you." Caden said in a deep voice, "If you lose, your reputation will be completely ruined."

Evelyn pouted and mumbled, "You do know it’s because of you!"

Caden raised an eyebrow and asked, "Don’t you want to win?"

"Of course I do!" Evelyn raised her voice, "But... I can’t exactly steal the test papers or bribe the principal to help me cheat, right?"

Suddenly, as if she remembered something, she looked at Caden in surprise and said, "You weren’t planning on doing that, were you?"

"..."

She became anxious, "That won’t do! Winning or losing, it has to be based on real skill; otherwise, I’ll truly become the kind of person they gossip about."

Caden darkened his eyes and glared at Evelyn, speaking angrily, "Who said I was going to help you cheat?"

Evelyn shrank back and timidly asked, "Then what do you want to do?"

A flash of brightness passed through his eyes as Caden spoke seriously, "You’re studying business English, and your worst course is body movement and dance. Although this course seems unrelated to your major, in the future, if you have to accompany your boss to social gatherings, large banquets often require dancing, and learning it can only benefit you."

Evelyn was bewildered, "I know that, of course!"

It’s not like she intentionally didn’t want to learn.

"Why... are you telling me this?" she asked.

Frowning, Caden seriously doubted Evelyn’s intelligence.

With a relaxed chest and a casually confident smile at the corner of his lips, he spoke lightly, "I was a top student back in school; every exam I easily took first place, never second."

Listening to Caden’s annoyingly arrogant words, Evelyn couldn’t help but mock him with a smile, "I bet... you were last place!"

Seeing the surge of anger around him, she stuck her tongue out and quickly spoke up, "Are you saying you’re good at dancing and can teach me?"

The smile at the corner of Caden’s lips deepened, and he lifted his chin, a proud smile on his face.

"Enough already!" Evelyn disagreed, "Our dance teacher is the best in the whole school, but I’m born with stiff bones and have absolutely no talent for things like twisting my waist, swinging my hips, or lifting my butt. Just barely passing is good enough!"

Besides, the dance class doesn’t count towards grades, only assessments, and doesn’t have much impact on the scholarship.

"So you’re someone who doesn’t dare to challenge difficulties and doesn’t want to make yourself better." Caden spoke offhandedly, "Even if you earn the scholarship based on your grades at the end of the term, if people on the forum use this course to attack you, do you think it won’t stir up more drama?"

Evelyn bit her lip.

What Caden said could really happen.

Plus, every time in dance class, her confidence got completely crushed.

She too wanted to dance gracefully like the other girls; her minimum goal was to stop stepping on her dance partner’s feet!

But having him teach her to dance?

"I’m really clumsy in this area!" she said dejectedly, lowering her eyes, "In dance class, I can’t find a partner because I look like I’m doing it on purpose, constantly stepping on people’s feet."

Caden chuckled lightly; he’d heard about Evelyn’s embarrassing antics during dancing and had seen her class videos, which amused him.

Looking at her sorrowful little face, he softened his gaze, pulled her hands that were unknowingly clenched together into each other, and held them in his palms.
