'Who?' Giliberu felt a chill as he glanced around. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Yet there was no one extraordinary in his vision—only ordinary people busy with their work.

"I'm in another trouble," he muttered, raising his brows, as he checked the route to the Creation Goddess church.

The church was just a few turns away.

With a heavy frown, he walked towards the church.

He entered a busy street as people brought fruits and flowers with them.

Among the many buildings, a blue, three-story, marble building stood at the end of the street as the street divided into left and right.

He stood in front of the building and read the entrance arch, labeled "Church of Creation Goddess" in the human language, Herica.

The entrance was wide open as people entered and exited with flowers or fruits.

'No sculptures or statues,' he mused, clicking his tongue.

He stepped in through the entrance gates, raising his brows.

He felt a jolt of energy, entering him in the next moment.

The sweet incense flowed through the area. His heart, which was beating a little fast, slowed down.

His brows relaxed, and his lips curved up involuntarily.

'Whoa!...there.' He instantly stepped back. His heart rose up, thumping hard. "What was that?" he muttered.

"It's just mood boosting." The same soft and heavy voice sounded again in his mind.

Giliberu broke into a sweat and glanced around.

"Don't worry. I won't harm you, nor would anyone in this church." The voice reassured him.

Giliberu stood silently with a frown. 'Enter or not… but I want answers.'

'With that kind of power, he could have killed me already… if he wanted,' he thought as he took a step forward.

His heart relaxed yet again. His frown disappeared, and a small grin appeared on his face.

He glanced around the churchyard. Small green grass grew on the floor. At the corners, beautiful white and blue flowers bloomed.

A blue gravel pathway led to the wooden doors, with bushes covering both sides. Many people entered the wooden doors through the gravel path.

He followed them, stepping inside the hall of the church.

A sweet, relaxing smell hit his nose. For a moment, he wanted to sit down and contemplate his life.

'Is this...brainwash? It's dangerous,' he scowled, and took a step back, wanting to run.

"Have you never tried a soul-relaxing potion?" the same voice asked playfully, amused by his behavior.

'Yes, I can still feel my emotions,' he clicked his tongue, patting his heart, which almost rose to his mouth.

"Where are you?" he muttered, glancing around the hall.

Wooden chairs were placed on both sides of the hall as people sat.

A few glanced at him with curiosity, while others disdained his behavior.

A large altar stood at the end, on the podium.

Bright candle chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Trinkets, paintings were placed on the walls.

'It's luxurious,' he thought.

He glanced at the blue sculpture at the end, behind the altar.

The sculpture was of a beautiful woman, clad in robes. She gave a motherly temperament, but felt heavy and vast at the same time.

"So comforting…" he muttered, as he felt as if he had taken a warm bath. "It's like I'm hit by holy light of purification… again."

'Hmm,' Giliberu closed his eyes for a moment.

'The sculpture… was it a man?' He yelled internally, glancing at the end of the hall.

The sculpture at the end was a handsome man with small, two fangs at his lips and short hair, clad in a suit. His temperament was cold and bloodthirsty.

'A vampire…' he stood up. 'Wasn't it a woman just now?'

"Don't worry, goblin," a voice echoed loudly.

"Goblin…"

"There is a goblin?"

"What!... those stinky creatures sneaked in again?"

People screamed, standing up.

They scattered in panic. Few stood bravely and cast, "Detect!" "Inspect!"

'My identity is close to getting revealed,' Giliberu thought, clenching his fists.

He glanced around, trying to spot someone with a grin. 'He should be smiling at my situation… with his power, knowing that I'm a goblin is easy.'

'It's just I cannot understand whether he is playing with me or trying to help…' He narrowed his eyes.

Tap! Tap!

A tapping sound echoed as people froze midway.

A fly flying in the air halted right in front of Giliberu. A baby's tears still floated in midair. The magic runes of people stopped mid-cast, just glowing brightly.

"Time has stopped!" he yelled, with wide eyes. His mouth hung open. "Someone so powerful called me in?"

"I was waiting for you." An old man walked into the hall from the right door of the altar podium, holding a long wooden stick.

He had a thick, grey beard; his white hair reached his back. Despite wrinkles and a skinny body, he stood tall, with a powerful and energetic temperament.

He was clad in a ragged, blue robe.

'He feels ancient… and vast,' Giliberu mused.

"Giliberu," the old man called, waving his hand at the goblin to sit down.

Giliberu sat down, calmly. 'For someone this powerful… It's too easy to know my name.'

"Of course… It's easy," the old man nodded with a grin, sitting down in front of Giliberu, pulling a chair, midst of all people still frozen.

"A hateful mind reading," Giliberu muttered, patting his forehead.

He, with a sigh, asked, "You must know what I was searching for then?"

The old man nodded. "It's for that reason I called you here."

Giliberu questioned, with a frown, "Why did Creation Goddess curse the goblins?"

The old man shook his head. "Curse?... Is it really a curse?"

Giliberu's eyes widened, body shook for a moment.

"What?... system described it as a curse and everyone called it a curse." He retorted, voice rising.

"System," The old man muttered, rubbing his chin.

In the next moment, he said softly, "Young goblin… You shouldn't judge something by cover… the curse." He paused and glared at Giliberu with a slight grin. "Creation Goddess's every action has an answer…"

"So… answer me… why?" Giliberu questioned, gritting his teeth.

The twin girls' faces flashed in his vision, along with Giru, Gilo, and other goblin kids.

"If they didn't have the curse, then they wouldn't have followed that pathetic path." Giliberu roared, Goblin Lord's last words still echoed in his mind. "Sorry, son… goblins are like this."

"Goblins are blessed with something they couldn't and mustn't possess," The old man said, sighing.

Giliberu sighed heavily.

"What do they possess?" He asked, banging the armrest of his chair. "And how can you know that they mustn't possess it?"

"Because only dragons and apex races have it," the old man replied softly, shaking his head.

"Potential…" Giliberu grinned bitterly. "I already expected that."

"Why… why did Creation Goddess give it to goblins in the first place then?" he asked, glaring coldly at the old man. "You must be a follower of that goddess… so answer me."

"Why don't you ask her in person?" the old man asked back, placing both arms on his stick for support.
