The words spoken by their ancestor shook the four clan heads to the core. When Zevik lifted the pressure on them, they immediately pointed at Jake.

"How can it be?"

"He is just at the 4th Circle!"

"This demon must've tricked you, Ancestor!"

Hearing such accusations, Jake simply smiled, openly mocking them. If not for him having interest in their capabilities as assassins, he would've already killed these four.

However, 4th Circle combatants would help him greatly in his conquest. So he had to be diplomatic.

At first, Jake just wanted Minerva and the team to wipe out the Isenwings just like the other two royal supporters.

But after he corrupted her, that necromancer revealed some things that even he was unaware of.

Jake's intel on the Isenwings came mostly from Leo but that man was only a baron prior to becoming promoted.

He probably had no clue that the first patriarch who started this ferocious clan was still barely alive. Minerva seemed to be closely acquainted with Heath Isenwing in the past and thus knew about this.

After some talk, Jake figured he'd get another powerhouse to join him as long as he could extend Zevik's lifespan.

And he had the perfect item for that. Of course, Jake didn't just give two droplets of Life Elixir to this man on a promise. He made Zevik sign a one-hundred-year contract of servitude.

Actually, one droplet was enough for Zevik to regain his youth. However, Jake decided to spare him two so that the remaining life-energy would help this assassin reach the 5th Circle.

While he thought of the earlier encounter with the once dying ancestor of Isenwings, the others arrived.

"Master!"

Calliya was the first to jump down. She immediately nocked an arrow on her bow and targeted the matriarch she was fighting earlier.

However, she didn't fire since those four weren't really attacking Jake and only warily stood around him.

There was tension in the atmosphere which Zevik failed to disperse. Although he was their ancestor, these four clan heads were seasoned veterans with decades of experience. Obviously, they wouldn't blindly follow him.

As Minerva, Linda and Edgar arrived, they also targeted their respective opponents. Being surrounded like this, the assassins were feeling quite bitter.

Why was their ancestor siding with these people? This thought was shared between them all.

As silence reigned, Jake took a step forward and plainly said, "I'm not going to stand here all day. You all have but one choice."

The four clan heads looked at each other and then discreetly eyed the others who were keeping tabs on them.

Jake continued, pulling out four identical contract papers which floated above him. There was a dark feather pen circling around.

"Become my servants and your clan shall see prosperity. Refuse and you all will be reduced to nothing."

Heath was the first to scoff. Others had visible anger on their faces, as if they couldn't believe this demon was proposing such a thing.

Immediately, the tension was broken as two clan heads turned into shadows, rapidly disappearing in different directions. The other two became invisible.

So what if they couldn't win? There was no way this demon and his lackeys could catch them!

Unknown to them, Jake had already noticed the change in their emotions while speaking. When they committed to escaping, he altered everyone with a signal from [Magipathy].

The first to be caught was a bony patriarch who had a large mole on his left cheek. Being the closest to Zevik, he was simply stopped by a flurry of magical daggers.

Another patriarch fell to the traps laid out by Linda and Edgar. The reason they arrived after Calliya was because they were laying down Nature Binding Arrays on one of the four exits.

Since there was a pretty high chance that these assassins would split up and go for different exits to cause confusion, placing a trap with this strategy worked.

Unlike the druids, Minerva was even sinister. She'd been placing a mind trigger spell on Heath the entire time she was fighting him.

She specially broke down the spell into multiple singular runes, chanting them in-between her conversations. She had to do it in a rhythm for this to work. Missing just one beat would break the spell.

Thus, Minerva was very chatty while fighting, despite acting as if she didn't want to talk. Her snorts and irritated whines were accurately timed chants.

And now, as Heath had already left the walls and appeared on the streets of Frienford, a sharp pain in his mind paralyzed his body.

"Got him." Minerva smirked, flying above the garden. She and Calliya immediately shot towards Heath's direction.

As for the last clan head, Jake had already caught her. This matriarch was quite slippery but he also had a movement skill that matched any assassin's.

Isobel made the mistake of looking into this demon's eyes and before she knew it, she was mindlessly walking towards him, enchanted.

Once the four assassins were captured, Jake presented them with the contract papers again.

The bony patriarch read it and the anger on his face increased. Unlike the contract that Zevik signed, these ones were lifetime servitude contracts.

"This is no better than dying! Even if I-"

Before the man could finish his second sentence, tens of icicles pierced through his body, instantly killing him in front of his clan mates.

Then, Jake snapped his fingers and [Dark Fire] burned his corpse. While doing so, Jake glanced at Zevik who had an expression of regret and pain.

However, the old youth quickly recovered and put on that neutral face again, as if nothing had happened.

This was obviously noticed by the other three clan heads. Their bodies visibly shook with anger but the scene of that burning corpse made them fear Jake.

Quickly, one patriarch grabbed the floating quill and wrote his name on the contract.

"Emory, you…" Heath clenched his fist, noticing the death knight's sword shining beneath his chin.

While he was thinking, the matriarch also grabbed the quill. Her hands were shaky so she took some time.

"Isobel…" Heath finally seemed defeated. A moment later, he grit his teeth and also signed the contract.

Seeing this, Jake smiled in satisfaction. The reason he didn't use [Malefic Enchantment] to make them sign was because that was considered invalid for some reason.

These Hell Contracts had to be signed by the other party when they had full control of their mind. The best he could do was coerce them or manipulate their emotions.

However, this would only make them slightly willing. Thus, he had to set an example.

'Kill the weakest one and the others will naturally comply!' Jake narrowed his eyes.

What could be more important than one's dear life? After all, these were selfish assassins, not some righteous knights who would sacrifice their lives for a greater cause.

'If I could corrupt them, I wouldn't have to go through this hassle.' Jake thought, freeing the assassins who had sullen faces.

He ignored them and glanced at Zevik, listing commands in the man's mind. He also shared information about his future plans and how to communicate at long-distance.

A while later, the Isenwing ancestor nodded. Jake then turned to the sulking assassins.

"You three will follow him and carry out his instructions unless I explicitly order you."

Hearing that, the three clan heads looked at each other and bitterly smiled. "Understood."

After finishing the matter at Frienford, Jake immediately teleported back

to the dungeon with the others.

There was a little visitor waiting for him.
